A tiny announcement regarding donations PLS DON'T IGNORE SRSLY KTHX

WAIT! DON'T IGNORE THIS! DON'T STOP READING, PLEASE thanks, this annoucnement can be read in one swoop, I promise. It's mostly images.

Hey guys!

It's been some time since I've started this campaign, which I'll reveal to you in this post.
Lambda Wars has been in works for a long time already, and it still is. And as you may imagine, it may be quite hard to keep working on it without getting anything off of it. And as you may've guessed it, we are trying to suck out all of the contents of your wallet with this announcement. Just look at these eyes of that gReEdy RusSKi dEVeLopeR right there:

In all seriousness though, there is a specific roadmap I've planned that involes the progression of the game. While Sandern works his best on the code to the extent that he sweats blood, Carbongo does his part on the UI to the extent that he forgets human language and starts speaking HTML-only (alright jokes aside, for real), I, on my part, try to think of what can be done with Lambda Wars to give it some life support, so here's what I came up with:

I opened a Patreon and do streams as often as possible, dedicated it specifically for Lambda Wars and try to gain audience to then reveal the game to them. Or otherwise - collect you guys, the already existing viewers, to be more active with me and perhaps collect everyone to play at least a single good game in one lobby. You'll see the links, just keep reading :)

As my attempted experiments show - bringing everyone to play in one lobby is already possible, so gathering a lot of people to play at once ain't less possible!

Money, it's purpose for Lambda Wars

So why exactly did I decide to start gathering money to get rich, rule over the world and laugh at how silly you all are for investing it all FOR ME HAHAHAhaHAHhaHAH through subscribers and supporters all of a sudden?
Well, let's be honest, we need to do something for a living, to begin with. But that doesn't come with just working on the game, does it? I mean, You probably want something else in return as well. I mean, why the heck would you input your resources into something you get for free anyway. Makes sense to me, and I completely understand your perspective from that point of view.

The money won't just go into only buying bread or spending it on hot babes and wasting it at LA casinos. No. There's a smart reason behind it.
First of all, we need to pay for dedicated servers for Lambda Wars. Dedicated servers isn't something very easy to settle at times without money which we would either get from our own pockets or otherwise would have to host these servers on our own (pretty sure Sandern had to do that himself).
Second of all, we need to increase the player count. That can only be done through advertisements on different websites. There are a lot of Half-Life 2 fans out there, and they can all be brought to play Lambda Wars, which in turn, still needs to be updated to keep up the player count.
Third, I posted a big announcement last year about the "WN Conference" and "VK Fest", which had been hosted in St. Petersburg in July. The expenses for these events were rather big, I'll be honest on that. This allowed me to give a huge boost into increasing the player count in the game.
The following chart proves my point: (see http://steamcharts.com/app/270370 for more info)

The future plans also include hosting tournaments to expand the game's pressence. Tournaments are always good, and I've even tried hosting one before. Even with a bunch of fails that I conducted while hosting it, it still went good, thanks to the amount of viewers and interest that the game received. But of course, tournaments are expensive, let's be honest, but I am really hoping we can get to this point.

And last, but not least, personally, I need equipment to continue making content for you guys. This includes stuff for streams, a new PC for me, software and other things of importance.

If money is something you can't allow yourself to spare, then you can follow me on Twitch and try to come at times, or bring some friends to watch, I try my best to produce content you guys like.

Huge thanks to my very first patrons - Andrew Kirby and BriskHound. You guys are awesome.

Also Andrew Kirby suggested that I play Half-Life 2 Hard Mod (I suppose it's some kind of a funny mod that may or may not attract people to my stream, so I'll announce the stream around tomorrow, probably I'm going on a date first so... ya'know, so I'm hoping to be back home on time)

(alright, I'm almost done)

Rewards

Alright, so here comes the sweet stuff.
The twitch sub rewards are straightforward, just like any other subs for other streamers, don't even have to mention that.

As for the Patreon, though, it's quite different.
There are three levels of pledging:
  • $1,49 - The pledge for those of you who are unable or don't really want to waste money, but still want to support me and the rest of the team somehow. The reward for this is simple - you get a role on Discord (link below) that opens up a channel where you can chat with me and the other patrons, separately from the rest of the community. Even this amount makes you awesome!
  • $4,99 - The pledge for those of you who are expecting to see a more progressive future for the project. Those of you who donate this amount are heroes. You guys boost the speed at which I'm able to collect the money for the things I listed above in the first section. With all my heart I appreciate this tier.
The reward - not only do you get to chat with the devs and other patrons, but you also get to participate in the beta test with me, Sandern and the rest. That's basically the unreleased content of the game that we are working on, and which can't be found on the Lambda Wars SVN.
  • $9.99 - The VIP, the people who I recognize as the ones who want to have their input into my stuff, as well as Lambda Wars altogether. Primarily, I made this tier for those who want to make this more of a high-tier donation more than anything.
The reward - even though, I can't provide a much better reward, than joining my streams in the VIP voice chat on Discord, I trust you guys the most due to your input. That just means that you guys like what I do (and I really mean mostly myself), so I take this more personally than just as support for the project. Thank you, my first two subs that I mentioned earlier, for picking this option.
