Many improvements

A small update for HARM fans ! ːsteamhappyː

A small team is working all the time to make the game better, more immersive and as fun as possible for players. That's why we decided at this stage to test internally and improve the game. We have a new interface, expanded inventory and many new crafting options. We want players not to see our game as one of many, but to have the feeling that they have been waiting for it. We have introduced more freedom, more interaction with the environment and more options for surviving in dynamically changing weather. We hope to reward the wait, so after a long pause we present at least a short video of the actual gameplay.

Demo version coming soon

We have great news for you !!!

We're putting the finishing touches on a public demo that we want to showcase at the Steam Next Festival in June. It won't be the beginning, i.e. the introduction to the game, but an excerpt from the rest of the gameplay. The player will be trapped in a valley where he will have to survive and then get out. He has to hurry; his daughter is left alone.



Cut off from civilisation, the valley hides some secrets, some of which the player will learn. The situation will force him to construct primitive equipment to defend himself, build shelter, hunt and also climb.

Cultis = danger

This area has always harbored a mad cult. In the past, these lands were inhabited by Native Americans with their ancient beliefs. Even today, one can find their remains. In the caves, paintings attract archaeologists. The Indians believed in the power of the mountain, which occasionally awakens the sleeping god Huehuecoyotl with a coyote's head. This was called the Night of the Coyote. The coyote would take the sanity of adults and kidnap children. Wooden masks were meant to protect against this, designed to deceive Huehuecoyotl. When he was hungry, he would ignite fires by throwing lightning or flood the crops with sudden storms. These beliefs formed the basis of the cult, which over time blamed new arrivals and modernity for the sudden cataclysms in the region. See what the design process looked like:





When the HARM research center was established, the local community sabotaged the research. When the source of HARM's research became unstable, nearby villages were evacuated. After the disaster, not only did the weather go mad, but so did those who remained. Mad cultists in wooden masks began hunting other people who came here and sacrificing them to the angered mountain.

Cultists will be the main adversaries in the game and a significant threat to the player.

In our ongoing efforts to expand the survival elements of our game, we're introducing a new way to gather food: spearfishing, followed by cooking your catch over a campfire. Spearfishing in our game requires a bit of patience and skill. Players will need to craft a spear, locate fish in rivers or lakes, and time their attacks to catch fish. It's a quiet, thoughtful process that adds to the game's immersive feel.

After catching a fish, the next step is cooking it. We've designed a simple cooking mechanic that involves starting a fire and choosing how long to cook your fish, affecting its nutritional value and risk of illness.

Daughter in Mind

In HARM Weather Warfare, the weather is the main adversary. In struggling with it, we will have to take care not only of ourselves, but also of our daughter, who is asthmatic and requires medication. Like the protagonist, she will be hungry, thirsty or struggle with hypothermia.



The player has to keep his daughter in mind all the time, so her statistics will be available on the screen via the user interface on the right side of the screen.



When acquiring food or drink, we must remember that we should save some of it for our daughter and bring it to the shelter, where she is waiting for us. Stressful situations can cause her to have coughing fits, and the player will be forced to find or create medication to alleviate these symptoms.



The process of designing the daughter's character was very exciting. We considered many variants, several models were created, until we decided on the one that best fits the situation, the scenario and the role she plays. We will share a couple of designs with you.
