Weekly DevLog: Working on Update 10
[p]It’s time for a new DevLog. Today, we’d like to give you an insight into the current development work surrounding Update 10.[/p][p]Update 10 will once again include a wide range of new features and improvements. For this reason, development is taking a bit longer than with previous updates. This extra time is a deliberate choice, as it allows us to focus on quality and depth — and in the end, it will be worth it.[/p][p][/p][p]One of the biggest highlights, and something many of you have been asking for, is the introduction of switch sounds. Our RailTool is now able to correctly evaluate rail intersection points and pass this information to Lua during gameplay. This allows the system to precisely detect when a bogie passes over a switch or a track crossing, triggering the appropriate sound at exactly the right moment.[/p][p]With Update 10, this means you’ll finally experience authentic switch sounds in the base game.[/p][p][/p][p]
[/p][p]Another major feature coming with this update is the implementation of speed monitoring systems (GÜs). While this feature has already been present in the Berlin network, we are now bringing it to Hamburg as well. Our goal is to implement it as realistically as possible. When operating in Hamburg, you’ll need to pay close attention to your speed — because exceeding the limits will result in the train being slowed down accordingly.[/p][p][/p][p]
[/p][p]In addition to these two major features, Update 10 also includes a variety of bug fixes and refinements. Among other things, two-star services can once again be selected correctly in Career Mode, an incorrect label on the A3L92 controller has been fixed, and the overall behavior of the ELA system has been further improved.[/p][p][/p][p]As you can see, there’s a lot going into Update 10. We’re confident that the additional development time will pay off, and we’re looking forward to sharing more details with you soon.[/p]

About SubwaySim 2
[p][/p][p]SubwaySim 2 is available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
