Weekly DevLog: A Major Update Is Coming!

[p]Next week on Thursday, October 30, 2025, the time has finally come: Update 6 will be officially released. You have been waiting a long time, you have shared countless requests, and we are excited to now announce that the release is just around the corner. It is especially important to us to emphasize that the update will launch simultaneously on all platforms, PC, PlayStation 5 und Xbox Series X/S. No one will have to wait – everyone will be able to jump in at the same time.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]One of the central highlights of this update is the brand-new graphics overhaul. We didn’t just improve individual elements—we started completely from scratch. The entire graphical foundation has been rebuilt to not only significantly improve performance but also to deliver a truly natural and realistic lighting experience at every time of day. As a result, the game doesn’t just look more modern—it feels entirely new and atmospheric in a way that transforms the overall experience.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]There are also major improvements to gameplay. In Berlin, the radio system is now fully functional, enabling realistic operational procedures for the first time. At the same time, in Hamburg, players can now explore the new BSA and LSA areas introduced in preparation for the upcoming Akkulok AL1 DLC. These areas were previously unused but are now coming to life. You can already walk around, explore, and familiarize yourself with the environment to be ready when the DLC launches.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Another major focus of this update is the overhaul of Berlin’s tunnel network. All tunnel sections have been fundamentally redesigned both visually and technically to meet modern standards. In addition, a dynamic tunnel lighting system has been implemented that randomly illuminates or darkens tunnel segments. This creates a unique atmosphere on every journey and delivers the authentic feeling of real underground railway operations.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Of course, no major update would be complete without improvements to the trains themselves. All vehicles have been thoroughly reworked: bugs have been fixed, sounds have been redesigned for greater authenticity, interior lighting has been adjusted, and headlights now function correctly according to real-world standards. A special highlight is the G1E series—also known as “Gisela.” Previously limited to the U2 line, it can now occasionally be encountered on the U1 or U3 as well. The Gisela features its own unique sound profile, a fully functioning destination rollsign, and realistic headlights, earning its rightful place within the Berlin network.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]We hope you are just as excited as we are. Update 6 is the biggest update in the development history of SubwaySim 2 and marks a true milestone that elevates the entire gameplay experience to a new level. With the combination of new graphics, redesigned routes, dynamic systems, and improved vehicle technology, the game now feels fresher, more realistic, and more alive than ever before. We cannot wait to see you driving with all the new features starting next week and we are looking forward to your reactions![/p][p][/p]

About SubwaySim 2
[p][/p][p]SubwaySim 2 is now available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. Weekly DevLog: Construction Sites in Hamburg & New Workwear

[p]Today we’re bringing you a brand-new DevLog update!
This time it’s all about construction sites in Hamburg and new uniforms for the battery locomotive drivers.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Over the past few weeks, we’ve been working hard to make construction operations in Hamburg feel more dynamic and varied. In addition to exciting new scenarios, you’ll now find a variety of active construction sites in both timetable and career mode.
To keep things fresh, we’ve created a smart randomization system – meaning construction sites won’t always appear in the same place, but will be randomly distributed each time you start a timetable.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]That means whenever you open the timetable selection, different sites and tasks will appear. Especially from Monday to Thursday during nighttime, there will be plenty of exciting missions to take on – while passenger trains are resting, it’s your job to keep Hamburg’s railway network running smoothly. [/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Of course, proper work also calls for proper attire: drivers of the battery locomotive now wear new, authentic workwear. Instead of a white shirt, you’ll see sturdy construction clothing. After all, a white shirt doesn’t exactly belong on a construction site. [/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]This DevLog marks another step toward making the experience feel even more authentic and immersive, capturing the real rhythm of railway operations – from late-night construction runs to the early morning return to the depot.[/p][p][/p]

[p][/p]
About SubwaySim 2
[p][/p][p]SubwaySim 2 is now available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. Weekly DevLog: Console News & Highly Detailed Berlin Vehicles!

[p]First of all, we’d like to address one of the most common questions we’ve received recently:[/p][p]Will the next update and the new content we’ve shown — like the battery locomotive (Akkulok) — also be coming to consoles?[/p][p]We can now clearly say: YES, they will![/p]

Mods on Consoles
[p]We also have great news regarding mods on consoles:
We’re currently working intensively on bringing the modding interface to console platforms.[/p][p]This is no easy task — it requires a lot of fine-tuning, technical adjustments, and close coordination between several teams.
Since this is such a large and complex project, and we want everything to be well thought out and stable, it will take some more time before we can show you the first results.[/p][p]But our statement remains clear:
We absolutely want to make loading mods on consoles possible!
As soon as there’s something new and ready to show, we’ll share more news and updates.[/p]

Berlin Vehicles
[p]Now onto another major highlight of today’s post:
The Berlin vehicles have received a small but exciting mock-up update in the driver’s cab![/p][p][/p][p]The new pictures show the HK cab with a new speedometer and a dual pressure gauge.[/p][p][/p][p]The A3L92 has also seen some significant updates:
It now features completely new driving and braking levers.[/p][p][/p][p]In addition, the ELA system (electronic loudspeaker unit) has been completely rebuilt to be even more authentic.[/p][p]
[/p][p]A real highlight is the radio unit in both vehicles —
it’s now fully functional and comes with many detailed and interactive features.[/p][p][/p][p]Together, these improvements make the Berlin vehicles even more realistic and immersive, perfectly complementing the Berlin line and Hamburg for a complete and polished overall experience.[/p][p][/p]

[p][/p]
About SubwaySim 2
[p][/p][p]SubwaySim 2 is now available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. Weekly DevLog: Mods for Epic Games & new Berlin assets!

[p]We’ve got some fantastic news for you today:[/p][p]First of all, there’s finally a feature many Epic Games players have been waiting for. With the upcoming update, SubwaySim 2 will also support mods on the Epic Games version. This means that everyone who owns SubwaySim 2 on Epic Games will soon be able to load and enjoy mods just as easily as Steam players.

[/p][p]But that’s not all. At the same time, we’ve been working on the Berlin platforms and added new assets to bring even more atmosphere to the game. From now on, you’ll find authentic ticket machines and validators on the platforms, which can even randomly be out of order – just like in real life.

[/p][p]We’ve also added the correct emergency signal switches to every platform, making the environment even more realistic.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]And since pictures speak louder than words, we’d like to round things off with a glimpse of Berlin at night. The city lights, combined with the new details along the line, create a mood that makes you want to take another ride through the capital.[/p][p][/p][p][/p]

[p][/p]
About SubwaySim 2
[p][/p][p]SubwaySim 2 is now available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
