Patch 1.0.1: Rebalancing, Camera Settings, and Other Changes
Patch 1.0.1 is now live! The main changes include new combat camera settings, a new card layout, and hero, foe, and relic rebalancing.

Font size increased on Steam Deck
Combat camera settings
Dynamic: zoomed in, depth-of-field effect
Balanced: not zoomed in, depth-of-field effect
Static: not zoomed in, no depth-of-field effect
In combat, cards can either be dealt in a straight line or fanned out
The number of Prestige points earned at the end of a journey has been changed
- Winning an ordinary battle now earns you 10 Prestige rather than 5
- Defeating an ordinary boss now earns you 40, 80, or 120 Prestige for level 1, 2, and 3 respectively rather than 50 for all levels
Rebalanced foes
Koschey the Deathless:
- The Summon the Gloom intention no longer makes Koschey invulnerable to debuffs, but it can be used multiple times per battle
- Koschey regains 2/3 of his health when the battle moves to phase 2 and 1/3 when it moves to phase 3
- Every time the battle moves to a new phase, Koschey loses all debuffs, moves to the back position, and becomes invulnerable to buffs until the next round
- The Koschey’s Curse effect now stacks when the deck is reshuffled and does not decrease
Chudo Yudo now deals 4 damage instead of 5
Barker no longer uses the Dreadful Howl intention when left alone on the battlefield
Heretnik battle (step 14): one Striga has been replaced by a Slave Ghoul
For some battles, the range of steps at which they can be encountered has been changed
Rebalanced relics
- The Wooden Stake now grants Vigor x3 instead of 2
- The Birchbark Shoes are now Uncommon instead of Rare
- The Broken Mirror now applies Dizzy x2 instead of 1
- The Silver Dagger now activates at 12 cards instead of 10
The Clapper’s effect boost has been reduced from 2 to 1
- The Bell is now Rare instead of Uncommon and grants 2 AP instead of 1
- The Amber Charm now grants +25% Health instead of +20%
- The Golden Rose now grants 30 Gold instead of 25
- The Juicy Apple now grants Vigor x3 instead of 2
Rebalanced consumables
- Oak Moss now grants Resilience x4 instead of 3
- Goldroot now grants x5 Crimson Gold instead of 2
- Hopping Herb is now Rare instead of Epic
- Parsley is now Epic instead of Rare
Rebalanced Varvara’s cards
Note: the numbers in round brackets stand for the upgraded version of the card.
- Agility now costs 1(0) AP instead of 1(1) and grants Agility x2(2) instead of 2(3)
- Cleave now deals 7(9) damage instead of 5(7)
- Tactical Arrangement now costs 2(1) AP instead of 1(0) and applies Perplexed to all foes
- Fighting Back now deals 3(5) damage instead of 2(4)
- Fury now grants Vigor x2(3) instead of 2(2)
- Fair Share now steals 3(5) Armor instead of 2(3)
- Opportunism now grants an additional 1(2) Armor
- Vulnerable now costs 1(0) AP instead of 1(1) and applies Vulnerable x2(2) instead of 2(3)
- Piercing Strike now deals 6(6) damage instead of 5(5)
- Hiding now costs 2(2) AP instead of 2(1) and inflicts Dizzy x1(2) instead of 1(1)
Double Down! now costs 2(1) AP instead of 2(2)
- Dizziness now costs 1(0) AP instead of 1(1) and inflicts Dizzy x2(2) instead of 2(3)
- Scramble now applies Dizzy x2(3) instead of 1(2)
- Bestowal now costs 3(3) AP instead of 4(4)
Rebalanced Vasilisa’s cards
- Grand Entrance now costs 3(2) AP instead of 2(2) and deals 3(3) damage instead of 2(3)
- Absolution now deals 4(6) damage instead of 5(7)
- Cataclysm now costs 2(2) AP instead of 4(4), deals 2(3) damage instead of 4(6), and resets the Nursemaid’s charges when used
- Eagerness now grants 2(2) extra charges instead of 1(1)
- I’ve Got This! — updated description: draw 1(2) card(s) and gain 2 AP for every charged Nursemaid on the battlefield. Reset their charges. Forget this card
- Bare Essentials now grants 1(2) card(s) from the Draw Deck (you could choose fewer cards before)
Rebalanced Dobrynya’s cards
- Forgotten Armor has been renamed to Forgotten Weapon and is now Rare instead of Epic. Also, it now allows you to forget as many attack cards as you want (you used to forget all the attacks in your hand)
- Whirlwind of Steel is now Rare instead of Epic and costs 2(2) AP instead of 4(3). New description: deal 3(5) damage and inflict Burned x2(4) on all foes on the battlefield. This card is Constant
- Clean Sweep is now Rare instead of Epic and costs 2(1) AP instead of X(X). New description: deal 3(3) damage. If you have Rampage, double the damage
- Screams of the Fallen now costs 1(1) AP instead of 2(2)
- Lightweight is now Rare instead of Epic. New description: gain 1 AP if your Armor is 5(3) or higher
- For Belosvet! is now Rare instead of Epic and costs 2(1) AP instead of 3(3). New description: deal 3(5) damage. Discard all Skills from your hand and draw the same number of cards
- Rock is now Uncommon instead of Rare
- Crush is now Uncommon instead of Rare, costs 1(1) AP instead of 2(2), deals 1(1) damage instead of 3(3), and is no longer Constant
- Deadly Defense now grants 1(2) base Armor instead of 1(1)
- Indomitable is now Rare instead of Epic and costs 3(2) AP instead of 4(3)
- Ramming Shield is now Uncommon instead of Rare
- Repose is now Rare instead of Epic and costs 2(1) AP instead of 3(2)
- Rampage now grants Vigor x2(2) instead of 1(1)
- Survival now grants 1(2) Armor instead of 1(1)
- Stoneskin is now Rare instead of Epic
- In Cold Blood is now Uncommon instead of Rare, costs 1(1) AP instead of 2(2), and deals 2(3) damage instead of 3(5)
- Turn the Tide now costs 2(1) AP instead of 3(3) and works differently: Deal 3(5) damage. You may discard up to 2 cards of your choice from your hand and draw the same number of cards
- Stronghold is now Rare instead of Epic
- Finish the Fight is now Rare instead of Epic
- Heroic Might is now Rare instead of Epic
- Azure Peak Shield is now Rare instead of Uncommon
- Bounty Hunt now grants 1(2) max. health instead of 1(1)
- Bogatyr’s Shield is now Rare instead of Uncommon
- Bloodletting is now Epic instead of Rare and deals X(X+2) damage instead of X(X+1)
- Stratagem is now Rare instead of Uncommon

Rebalanced Alyosha
- The Kitezh Charm relic now activates when a foe in any position is killed, blinding the nearest attacking foe
- Blinded effect: foes’ attacks no longer inflict debuffs, add statuses, etc.
Cards:
- Off with Their Head! now costs 1(1) AP instead of 2(2). New description: deal 2(3) damage plus the same amount for each Status in your hand. Forget these Statuses
- Snowball now costs 2(2) AP instead of 1(1). New description: Spellbane. Forget up to two Spellbane cards in the Draw Deck. Deal 1(2) damage twice, plus once for each selected card
- Extra Security now deals 1(1) damage instead of 1(2), and its upgraded version is now a Starter
- Follow-Up Strike now costs 2(2) AP instead of 2(1), and its upgraded version is now a Starter. New description: gain Strength x1 upon vanquishing a foe
- Infinite Charges now costs 3(2) AP instead of 2(2), and its upgraded version is no longer a Starter
- Blessing of Kitezh now costs 4(3) AP instead of 2(2), and its upgraded version is now a Starter. New description: gain Stopping Power x2 at the start of the turn
- Foolhardy now costs 2(2) AP instead of 3(2), and its upgraded version is now Retained
- Ablaze now costs 3(3) AP instead of 3(2), and its upgraded version is no longer a Starter
- Rusty Shield now applies Hindrance instead of Wound
- Burn Bright now costs 1(0) AP instead of 1(1). New description: double the Burned stacks on the nearest Burned foe. Increase this card’s cost by 1
- Heat Lightning now costs 3(2) AP instead of 3(3) and grants Spark x2(2) instead of 2(3)
- Total Recall now plays the selected Spellbane card for free
- Sure Shot — updated description: mark the nearest living foe. If there is another Marked foe on the battlefield, apply another Mark
Miscellaneous
- Updated the hints that appear on the path selection screen when using a controller
- Alyosha: changed the VFX for Blind, Overheat, and Mark
- Hoarder: changed the VFX for the Rockfall intention
- Vasilisa: added a VFX when a Nursemaid gains or loses charges
- Updated the journey difficulty selection screen
- Added a tutorial for the different kinds of card highlights
- Added hero status panel to the stats screen at the end of the journey
- Added burning animation to unselected pages
- Reordered options in general and gameplay settings
- You can now use a healing consumable from the rewards screen if there isn’t enough room for it in the inventory
- Changed the way cards are sorted on deck interaction screens:
- when transforming and deleting cards, they are sorted from oldest to newest
- when upgrading cards, they are sorted from newest to oldest
- Bosorka, Two-Souled Bosorka, Kegra, Yaron: ranged attack projectile speed increased
- Alyosha: Overheat VFX is now also displayed at the start of the turn if Overheat is greater than 0
- Reduced the number of monsters you have to kill for Hero’s Path quests
- Desynchronized identical card VFX
Bug fixes:
- Fixed a bug that caused the “End turn” button to display incorrectly during the foe’s turn
- Freezing Blast (Alyosha): fixed the way Vanquish works against Marked foes
- The Agility effect (Varvara) no longer allows the Koschey’s Curse effect to ignore Armor when applied to the hero
- Foolhardy+ (Alyosha) is no longer a Starter
- Swamper: fixed the Swamp Sorcery intention icon
- Leshy: Oak Bark is now reset to 1 stack at the start of the turn
- Koschey: ability SFX no longer fails to play when replaying the battle
- Fixed the size of effect tooltips when they refer to a card
- Type and rarity added to relic and consumable descriptions; button color fixed
- The Bestiary no longer closes automatically at the end of a battle
- Sash of Seven Silks relic no longer glows constantly outside of battle
- Stand Back! card: the game no longer freezes if you finish your turn before the animation of cards being added to your hand is complete
- All-Around Defense effect (Dobrynya): the activation SFX no longer plays every time the hero attacks
- Nettle Shirt relic now allows you to remove just one card (you had to remove two cards before)
- Mighty Blow (Dobrynya) no longer deals twice the indicated damage when its condition is met

- Werewolf Berserker: the description of the Entranced effect now indicates that it prevents the foe from being Vanquished

- Gird Your Loins (Dobrynya) no longer applies a debuff when played
- Grimoire relic: fixed interactions with relics and cards that depend on shuffling the deck
- Bloodletting (Dobrynya) no longer deals damage to foes when the player has 0 AP
- Silver Dagger and Burdock Undershirt relics: fixed the way cards are counted for these relics to be activated (they used to require one card more than indicated in the description)
- Adjusted the hint that appears when selecting help before a boss fight
- Gorynich: the Mark VFX is now removed properly when the player vanquishes one of the heads
