Happy holidays - demo coming soon

Hi everyone,
I hope you’re having a wonderful Christmas and enjoying the holiday season!

I’ve got some exciting news for those of you eagerly awaiting this game: the demo is ready and will be available soon—likely before the end of January! The demo will include one location with five buildings you can break into and rob. Even better, you can team up with a friend for some co-op fun.

So, what’s this game all about?

You start the game in prison for... well, let’s just say it’s not your proudest moment. Suddenly, someone offers to bail you out. The catch? They expect you to repay the favor—by working for them. Do you accept the deal?

Let’s say you take it. You’re given a pretty sweet hideout to “live” in. But there’s a big problem: debt. A mountain of it. And if you don’t pay up on time, well, let’s just say it won’t end well for you.

What do you do? You stick to what you know best: crime.

You’ll take on various jobs, complete challenges for cash, fulfill item requests, and more.

When you order fancy new tools, make sure you don’t accidentally stand in their way! Once you’re geared up, the next step is picking a target and preparing for the heist—preferably under the cover of night.

Before you strike, it’s smart to scope out the location. If you skip this step, things can go south fast. And when they do, you’d better hide.

People have different routines—some sleep, some stroll outside, and others stay up late. Some might be armed, depending on the difficulty you choose, but most are harmless.

Planning is everything. If payment is due tomorrow, you can risk going in blind and hope for the best.

If things go completely sideways, you’ll retreat to your hideout. But beware: a day will pass, and it could mean the end of your run. Don’t worry, though! Each attempt unlocks something permanent that will give you an edge in your next try.

Currently, the game is about 25% complete. If all goes well, a full release might happen next year.

Crime Simulator shenanigans

Good day, Mr. Wick. It's been a while.

But seriously, progress is good. Almost half way done with the demo. First map is nearly finished, there are 7 houses and one huge garage to rob - the demo will feature about 4 houses.

New store design with user reviews
Reviews aren't really necessary but they provide some slight context for what the item can be used.

Session info pinboard
Clearly inspired by Phasmophobia - here you can select your next map, difficulty options, invite friends etc. Also it displays important information.

Golden cards
These babies rarely spawn on harder difficulties and can be stolen. Once deposited at the delivery box home, they can provide a range of bonuses for the reminder of the run (until you fail). For example, the diamond card lowers store prices by 25%.

All in all, game is looking good, progress is good, just a bit more patience and the demo will be available, featuring co-op up to 2 people. ːsteamhappyː

Crime Simulator Devlog - Tools showcase

Hi everyone, today I want to showcase all sorts of items and tools which will be available for the player to buy and use how he sees fit.

1. Drone

You can use the drone to scope out an area, and also install upgrades which can make it possible to, let's say, hack a security camera / panel, or make a noise which alerts NPCs.

2. Thermal vision goggles

These can be used to see NPCs through walls, as well as other players.

3. Blowtorch

Can be used to break into some metal locks, like the safe.

4. Scanner

Can be used to scan for certain items, like money, notes and more. Upgrades can be found and installed which allow for more items to be scanned.

5. Crossbow

Three types of darts - sleep dart, diversion dart and hack dart. Each does a different thing when shot.

6. Invisibility tool

This tool will be very expensive and very useful - become invisible for a minute after using it.

7. Credit card stealer

Found a credit card? Use this tool to extract money from it.

I make game

Like the title

But seriously, there's some nice progress going on. I've made some nice minigames, trying to upgrade them from TS2, to make them less annoying and time consuming.

1. Computer, apps and radar
When you start up your session in let's say, Neighbourhood nr 1, you will have a small container-like area where you can bring in loot and take it back home. You will receive a computer with certain apps, like Jobs, Item lists (completing them grants bonuses) etc.

Also you will be able to check your stats, learned skills, and buy a radar which shows all players and interesting things on the map.

2. Skill system
Once you level up, you can spend a skill point. To do that however, you need to find or buy a skill magazine, like the one above. Each magazine grants different skills, obviously. This one above makes it possible to lockpick simple locks.

3. Minigames, part one

Padlock
You can either find the code in the nearby area (a note, a writing on a wall etc.) or just blow it up with a mini-bomb or use the crowbar. That however, will alert nearby NPCs.

Safe cracking
Safe cracking will be similiar to TS2, albeit quicker to complete, and you have the option to enter the code without using a stethoscope (if you know the code).

Window cutting
Window cutting will be completely different though - you have to cut edges of the glass with a special knife.

All in all, it's going well. Stay tuned for more ːsteamhappyː
