Dev Log |Episode.001:Anime Girl + Diablo II?!Our Bold New Blend

[p]Hello everyone! This is Dee from the Book of Yog: Season Edition~[/p][p][/p][p]First of all, a huge heartfelt “thank you” to all the old friends who have been with us from the very beginning. Some of you have followed us since our earlier idle/relaxing game, and we're truly grateful for that support. And of course—welcome to the new players who just discovered our little project that dares to combine dark fantasy vibes with anime girls.[/p][p][/p][p]This dev log marks the first time we're openly and honestly sharing what we've been building.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]To be honest, the journey here hasn't been smooth. The project faced setbacks, and even a few complete restarts. At one point we experimented with a "town management + idle gameplay" version. The art team poured their heart into it, even composing original music.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]But in actual playtests, we realized some big flaws: the idle system lacked meaningful interaction, and the town management felt a bit forced. After long discussions, we decided to do the scary thing—wipe the slate clean and start over.[/p][p][/p][p]And we really mean it: a complete restart.[/p][p][/p][p]From that reset, the Book of Yog: Season Edition finally began taking clear shape: a playable, grindable world where your characters can truly grow.[/p][p][/p][p]As for the core gameplay, our vision is now pretty clear: it's all about raising Anime Girl, farming loot in true Diablo-like fashion, and building crazy skill loadouts. We want players to feel that addictive loop of endless grinding and experimenting with all sorts of fun combos.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Wrapping Up[/p][p][/p][p]This is just the start! We'll continue sharing development updates and behind-the-scenes stories in this series.[/p][p][/p][p]And if you like what you see, we humbly ask: please hit that Wishlist button. 💖 For a small team like ours, every wishlist matters—it tells us we're not walking this road alone.[/p][p][/p][p]Thank you so much for being here.[/p]

Producer’s Log | Episode. 000: This Game Is Driving Me Insane

[p]Book of Yog: Season Edition——this name might have started as a satire or a form of self-irony when the project was first established.[/p][p][/p][p]We called it the "Season Edition" because two years ago, we mistakenly believed that the Book of Yog was nearing its end. It did have many flaws, so we decided to transform it into a more satisfying idle game—one that was purer and more fun (and, well, we also hoped to make some money).[/p][p][/p][p]Unexpectedly, Book of Yog made it past its third anniversary, while the Season Edition fell into confusion. One day, when I opened it, a voice inside me asked: Would you actually enjoy playing your own game? Would you be willing to spend another three years maintaining it? Deep down, the answer was no. I didn't even find the game fun myself, and the more I worked on it, the more I felt untalented.[/p][p][/p][p]That inner voice told me—time flies, and it's time to make a more meaningful game. A game like Diablo II, like Grim Dawn. Because I love the thrill of grinding, exploring maps, and hunting for loot. The combination of "Anime Girl + Diablo II" excites me. I want to tell those traditional mobile game designs that rely on "level caps" and "resource bottlenecks" to go f**k themselves.[/p][p][/p][p]If we continued without changing direction, we could launch within six months. It would bring us temporarily secure income, and we could revisit this idea again in 2–3 years. Starting over now would mean wasting millions, and we'd have to keep exploring step by step—the worst-case scenario being that we might not make it all the way.[/p][p][/p][p]One path offers stability; the other is full of uncertainty. If you were in our shoes, which would you choose?[/p][p][/p][p]In the end, we chose the "harder" path. We believe that "Anime Girl + Diablo II" will bring more value to players. More importantly, time won't wait for us. If there's a chance, I'd rather take risks while we're still young.[/p][p][/p][p]Finally,[/p][p]This series will continue to receive updates. We humbly ask for your support. Every time you "add it to your wishlist," it becomes a precious star lighting our way forward—letting us know that we're not walking this path alone.[/p][p][/p][p]Steam 上的 依盖之书:纯净版[/p][p][/p][p][/p]
