A Letter to Commanders: Why We Chose Buy-to-Play for a Better Season Edition

[p]Dear Commander,[/p][p]First and foremost, we sincerely thank you for your long-term attention and support for the Book of Yog series. We are deeply aware that it is players like you who give us the motivation to keep moving forward.[/p][p]We are writing to inform you about an adjustment to the pricing model of Book of Yog: Season Edition.[/p][p]After thoroughly analyzing player feedback from the previous title, Book of Yog, and in order to deliver a more complete, pure, and immersive gaming experience in Book of Yog: Season Edition, our team has carefully evaluated and decided to make a significant change to the game’s business model: shifting from the originally planned free-to-play model to a one-time purchase (buy-to-play) model.[/p][p]We believe this change will allow us to focus more on refining the core content and gameplay, ensuring that after your purchase, you can enjoy a richer and more complete game world without distractions from subsequent in-app purchase designs. Our goal is to create a work that allows you to fully immerse yourself and enjoy a pure gaming experience.[/p][p]We fully understand that this adjustment may inconvenience those of you who have been looking forward to a free experience, and we sincerely apologize for any disappointment. We hold every bit of your expectations close to our hearts and kindly ask for your understanding regarding this difficult decision made in pursuit of better game quality.[/p][p]The development team is currently working diligently to perfect Book of Yog: Season Edition. We sincerely hope you will continue to accompany and support us throughout the development journey. Your feedback and suggestions remain invaluable to us.[/p][p]Once again, we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your continued patience and trust. We look forward to presenting you with a satisfying experience when Book of Yog: Season Edition officially launches.[/p][p]Thank you for being with us. Let’s continue moving forward together.[/p][p]The Book of Yog Team[/p][p][/p][p]Steam 上的 依盖之书:纯净版[/p][p][/p][p][/p]

Dev Log |Episode.005: Time to show our Versatile Mix-and-Match Monsters

[p][/p][p]How was everyone's holiday that just passed? Did you go out, or have a good rest at home?[/p][p]On the first day back to work after the holiday, after receiving a lot of special - local - product snacks, we have also been continuously improving the basic gaming experience. Today, let's share with you some progress in our monster design.[/p][p]The core goal of this system is very clear: to make each monster bring you a little "surprise".[/p][p][/p]
Random model color shifts
[p]Put simply, we added a random dye job feature for monsters. We set up a custom color palette for each monster model. When a monster spawns, the system grabs a random color from it and slaps it on—so you might run into a lavender zombie, or a neon green goblin. [/p][p][/p][p][/p]
Random Part Combinations
[p]If changing colors is like giving monsters a new "skin tone," then random part combinations are like dressing them in different "gear."[/p][p][/p][p]We split this into multiple parts that can have gear configured independently—think head, shoulders, chest armor, leg armor, and weapon slots. Each part has its own pool of gear to choose from randomly. When a monster spawns, the system randomly assigns a piece of gear to each part, one by one.[/p][p][/p][p]Now this is the real "mix-and-match"! No need to say more about how awesome this is! ([/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Alright, that’s it for today’s update on the “Versatile Mix-and-Match Monsters”! See you next time for more shares![/p][p][/p]
Wrapping Up
[p][/p][p]This is just the start! We'll continue sharing development updates and behind-the-scenes stories in this series.[/p][p][/p][p]And if you like what you see, we humbly ask: please hit that Wishlist button. 💖 For a small team like ours, every wishlist matters—it tells us we're not walking this road alone.[/p][p][/p][p]Thank you so much for being here.[/p]

Dev Log |Episode.002:Talent System: Game Over (Insert Coin to Continue)

[p][/p][p][/p][p]This is Dee from the Book of Yog: Season Edition~[/p][p][/p][p]This past August was quite an extraordinary one for us—after two months of refining the Talent System, it was completely scrapped at the end of the month (to be precise, on August 20th).[/p][p][/p][p]The overhaul was thorough, and our progress bar was rolled back to a full 0%.[/p][p][/p][p]↑Combat Designer Daily Log (a.k.a. The Grudge Ledger)[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]We started out with the classic talent tree: level up, get a skill point, branch out as far as you like. It looked lush and full of choices, but the truth? Ninety percent of players ended up funneled into the same “best build.”[/p][p][/p][p]↑ Original Version[/p][p][/p][p]It looked like there were plenty of options, but in truth, hardly any real choice at all.[/p][p][/p][p]And so, we kept having meetings… discussing (or, let’s be honest, struggling).[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]The good news is: we've finally locked down a solid plan, and things are actually rolling along smoothly (yes, really!).[/p][p][/p][p]So stay tuned for the next updates—expect plenty more juicy spoilers~[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Wrapping Up[/p][p][/p][p]This is just the start!
