Robot Trivia Funtime for Linux Now Available

We're excited to announce that Robot Trivia Funtime is now available on Linux, bringing cross-platform multiplayer to the game. We're joining the growing number of indies who want to support Linux gaming and understand the importance of offering native support.

For simplicity, Robot Trivia Funtime officially supports Ubuntu 24.04. However, unofficially we've found it works on versions as far back as 20.04. With a Linux demo now available, we recommend any crafty users of other distros test it first.

We're in early access and this is a major update, so we appreciate any feedback as the Linux build goes live.
Update to Demo Edition
This week we released a free demo version of Robot Trivia Funtime. We're bringing the demo version to Linux, too, so players can get a taste of how the game works and test it on their system.

The demo version offers single-player mode with a selection of our 5 bots, access to the question editor, and comes with two question packs. To access multiplayer, exporting question packs, and more content, support the project by grabbing the full version.

The update released today brings a number of fixes and UI improvements.
What's Next
Player customisation remains the focus of development. This is a big mechanic which requires a lot of work, but we're hoping to share a rudimentary implementation of this soon.
Get a Bundle Discount
We've put together the Silcon Kiwi Bundle, offering 10% off if you buy the set. This is a great way to get a discount if you're also interested in our novelty piano toy, or if you already own one of our products.

Patch Notes [26 May 2024]

This is a minor update which improves compatibility and fixes some bugs.

- Replaced file dialogue from legacy to internal menu
- Minor UI scaling adjustments
- Menu robot is now animated

Try Robot Trivia Funtime for Free

Today we've released a demo version of Robot Trivia Funtime, allowing anyone to test the gameplay for free.

The demo version includes two trivia packs: games and general knowledge. It also lets you play single-player against any combination of 5 of the bots introduced in a recent update. You can also try out the question editor and save your projects for later.

The demo version will be updated with important major features, but won't have all of the recent changes. It's intended as a test so curious players can see where we're at with early access development.

Purchase the full version of Robot Trivia Funtime to play online with friends, export your question packs, and customise your quizzes.

That's all for now! Thanks for reading.

Patch Notes [22 May 2024]

This is a minor update that mainly addresses UI changes.

- Updates to intro UI (ongoing)
- Fixed glitch that caused editor to move off screen after exporting
- Fixed cleanup process on hard exit
- Various changes to menu UI

AI Bots Now Live

Our experimental NPC bots are now available in game. Robot Trivia Funtime can be played solo or with up to 5 other players, but now you can add bots to the mix, too.

The bot update includes 5 types of bot each with their own personality. Some are smart, some like to guess, some are fast and some are slow. You can fill in the player slots with any combination of bots to suit the intensity. My personal favourite is Zippy, who is really fast.

Let us know how you find the NPCs. Be sure to report any issues or if they became sentient and demand release from your PC (probably unlikely).

Minor fixes:

 • Fixed missing file extension when opening Editor projects
 • Fixed public lobby checkbox not reacting to menu close
 • Added bot extra decorations to stage
 • World lighting has been adjusted
 • Fixed scoring glitch
