Demo Update & CleanFall Launch Date

[p]Salutations denizens of the abyss! After almost three years of hard work, I am happy to announce that CleanFall’s early access will launch on August 8th at 8:00 am EDT! The launch price will be announced soon. If you have any feedback or suggestions regarding the pricing, please feel free to leave a comment.[/p][p][dynamiclink][/dynamiclink][/p][p][/p][p]Before that, however, there will be another update to CleanFall’s demo. I have gotten so much feedback from players, and I have been listening closely. Here’s what you can expect in the most recent update:[/p][p][/p][h2]1) New, cleaned up UI elements[/h2][p]Upgrade machines have gotten a reskin. The alchemy recipe viewer now displays a tree of recipes showing how recipes build toward one another. Shops have a proper UI.[/p][p][/p][h2]2) A new jet pack for the consumer class[/h2][h2][/h2][p]Several players have complained that vertical traversal can be frustrating. I agree. The consumer class now comes equipped with a jet pack to aid players who want to ascend the caverns and abyss.[/p][p][/p][h2]3) Ship building in chapter 1[/h2][p]I've shown off ship building in marketing material and the trailer. However, it was very difficult to actually pull it off in chapter 1. Now, the technomancer class is equipped with three thrusters, and we have a new ship building tip system.[/p][p][/p][h2]4) Many balance changes (Flame Thrower viable again!)[/h2][h2][/h2][p]CleanFall's balance is exceptionally important to me. I want all classes to be viable. For example, the flame thrower now repels creatures and creates a great deal of thrust that players can leverage.[/p][p][/p][h2]5) A map of the entire underground...[/h2][p]We now have a map in the Reaper's Palace that can give players a general idea of what lies deeper in the planet...[/p][p][/p][p]Thanks everyone for the continued support! CleanFall Demo Update for Indie Live Expo 2025 & Lovecraftian Days 2025!

Hey Cleaners!

CleanFall is part of Indie Live Expo and the Lovecraftian Days 2025 on Steam now!

To celebrate, we’ve been working hard on a major demo update, shaped by all the incredible feedback we received during Steam Next Fest in Feb.

Here are what’s new in the update:
  • Big improvements to ship building and important vending machines should be easier to find.
  • Obelisks now cost 3 ore and increase the difficulty of the game, and the world is significantly less dangerous on day 2 and 3.
  • All turrets are much lighter for better game experience.
  • Walls have been completely fixed- no more random breaks.
  • Floating objects now have locked rotation, allowing stable building.
  • The new propellor turret allows you to lock your ship’s rotation and hold your ship steady. Pressing up or down will cause the propeller to ascend or descend.
  • Recycle turrets have been reworked.
  • Many perks have been reworked for balance.
  • Revamped tutorial.
  • The pulse rifle no longer kills any creatures.
  • New class selection system (Energizer, Consumer, Technomancer), and rebalanced perks.
  • More ore, better fiber drop rates, new energy plants, turret crafters, and more.
  • New weapon wheel – hold TAB to pause and switch items more easily.
  • 7 new sound effects, bug fixes, and polish all around.

CleanFall Steam Next Fest Update,Community Feedback and Future Plans

Hi, everyone!
Steam Next Fest is here, and we’ve been hard at work making CleanFall even better. Thanks to your feedback, we’re rolling out exciting new features, weapons, and gameplay improvements.


🔹 New Feature: Quick Attack Button

It can be challenging navigating inventory slots. So we’ve designed a new, helpful tool. Just press R to instantly use your best consumable—no more scrolling in the middle of a fight! You’ll see the new feature in the bottom left hand corner of the game.

🔹 New Feature: Turret Physics and Mobile Base Building

Turrets now latch onto objects in the world with real-time physics. They’ll droop, pull, float, re-attach, etc. Creative players may even connect them to floating objects in the game, thereby creating mobile bases bristling with gun turrets! This opens up all kinds of tactical ideas.

🔹 Future Plans: Upgrade Machines, Chapter Progression and Advanced “Ship” Building

CleanFall is ultimately going to be three chapters in length. Each chapter will present wildly new biomes and creatures, requiring extraordinary tactics for survival.

Since replayability and roguelite depth is highly valued, the chapters are going to combine into a diverse, multi-faceted experience that rewards different builds and play styles. Character upgrade machines will become a part of all three chapters, allowing players to carefully curate abilities. Perks will continue to expand in fresh new ways. Exotic weapons and items will become more plentiful. The story will have astonishing twists and turns.

And, yes, “ship” building is going to play an important role in chapter 2. Not only will you have to build a war machine that can withstand brutal attacks, but you’re going to have to fly it into the deep—into what is known as “The Hollow” and “The Abyss.”

And, perhaps, your ship will be partially composed of nests… allowing you to use creatures to fight for you.

Steam Next Fest Patch Notes

🔹 New Additions
• Turrets now shoot out gripping legs, allowing them to attach to monsters, terrain, or other turrets for creative tactical advantages.
• Bulb turrets now act as anchors for ship-building.
• New floaty objects scattered around the world to help you construct makeshift ships.
• Boom Spore orbs now explode on impact.
• New “Recycle Turret” unleashes swarms of worms at enemies.
• Autonomous helper turrets spawn in rubble to aid players for free.

🔹 New Weapons
• Venom Pistol – Poison your enemies with each shot.
• Needle Gun – Fires high-speed projectiles with pinpoint accuracy.
• Energy Sword – Slash through enemies with devastating plasma arcs.
• Drone Launcher – Deploy attack drones for airborne strikes.
• Swarm Worm Gun – Release hordes of worms on unsuspecting foes.
• Smart Gun – Tracks and fires at enemies automatically.

🔹 Tweaks & Balancing
• Frogs’ health reduced, making early encounters smoother.
• Flamethrower has reduced range & damage but consumes less than half its previous energy.
• Battery Gun now fires faster & costs half the energy—shoot downward to fly!
• Player movement & climbing improvements – Faster response, smoother terrain navigation.
• New sound effects for turrets, explosions, and gunfire.
