Policemen are not the only ones who have to maintain order and help people. They often need a helping hand from other services and special cars 🚔

In today's blog we'll show some progress in creating several special vehicles, which will inhabit the Highway Police Simulator game world. In this particular case we speak about the Ambulance, Tow Truck and Fire Engine.🚑 🚛 🚒

Service vehicles come in various shapes and sizes. They all play a critical role in keeping our communities safe. Most emergency response vehicles have the authority to go faster than the speed limit or to ignore traffic signals altogether to get to where they need to be.


Emergency response vehicles all have a distinct appearance that helps drivers differentiate between them from other vehicles. They also indicate the emergency in question 🚨


What about the gameplay moments, the Fire Engine and the Ambulance will appear at various accidents or after shootout missions. The Tow Truck can be called as "reinforcement" for broken down cars.

Have you ever wondered, why the police car has various sounds, when its sirens are on? Why not just use one? Previously we've shown different bluelight modes and now it's time to make this topic complete with the description of the available siren sound types.🚨 🎶

Patrol officers has a ton of equipment inside their vehicles and part of that is the emergency equipment in order to respond to emergencies. The sound, a siren, is an audible sound, coming from that vehicle to warn people around: hey, we're coming through, please yield right away!

The three main sirens we're talking about is the Wail, the Yelp and the Phaser (or Piercer).

The first one, the Wail, is the most routine one that we hear. You hear it on fire trucks and ambulances and described as a "wee-woo" sound — a high and a low, that's elongated in length. Then the Yelp, that is the same "wee-woo" sound, but in a faster frequency. So that when you're approaching traffic after that Wail, you can get people's attention.

And then that Phaser sound, almost sounding like a phaser gun. This is from like spaceship kind of sounding stuff. This is what officers call "a traffic intersection clearer". So as you've had that other stuff on, you're approaching, you want to change up that audible sound to get other drivers attention. You get that, you clear the intersection and it's back to the Wail.

If the lights are on but there is no siren, it could be that there is an ongoing crime and officers do not yet wish to alert the perpetrator of their presence. Another possibility is that, though an officer is headed to an emergency, there is no traffic on the road that needs to move out of the way 🚔

this week our team made big steps in the development in different areas. Of course we will show you these new stuff soon. But today I would like to tell you something else.



Last week we had the invite to join a developer event of our publisher Aerosoft. Different developers from different dev teams participated in this event. I represented Z-Software. Different teams made different talks about the game development and we talked talked about challenges in the game development and exchanged know how. I mean Z-Software develop games for over 16 years, but I could still learn something new or remember stuff, I already forgot.
I also could speak about some challenges we have with another developers. And so we (Z-Software) will improve some workflows in the future. 🙂

One of the interesting parts of the event (for me) was talk to Aerosoft team face to face. So our team tooks the chance and shows game development progress of HWPS. We not only spoke about the progress of the development, but also about marketing and marketing assets. We got some photos where you see me, showing the Head of Product Management work in progress marketing material.

I know this post was short, but I hope you still enjoy it. In my point of view this is very important to have best possible collaboration with the publisher to achieve best possible results and best possible game.

Today we decided to speak about Time of Day and Shifts 🌇 🌃



In "Highway Police Simulator" some missions require to be done in specific shifts and some events are more likely to happen at certain times of the day than others.



Some general details:

The time moves dynamically (but slowly). The staff at the police station and in some other places in the worlds can change depending on the shift 🚓

Upon the whole, changes in the world mostly inflict NPCs, objects and lighting, events and missions.

And what about you? What is the most comfortable for you, while playing games — to "protect and to serve" when it's daytime or act at night? 🤔

There's a saying "Clothes do not make the man": first you judge "how nice", then you judge "how wise".



But if you tend to think that good clothes open all doors, it's definitely not about "Highway Police Simulator" gameplay mechanics! Here you should wear a certain type of clothes to be able to open doors of this or that vehicle🚓 🚗

Put on officer's uniform to drive police car or pilot's garment to enter the helicopter and civil clothing when you're undercover. There's even more, but we don't want to "put everything on the table"😎

So suit up and dress for the occasion... when the time is right 🧥 👖 👔 👟
