Custom Language Patch Now Live! (PatchNote 0.4.1)

Hello Bingle Bingle players,

Today, we're releasing a patch that includes an update for the language customization feature and some minor bug fixes.

[h2]Language Customization Patch[/h2]

First, we've added French, Russian, Spanish, Korean, Japanese, and Simplified Chinese to Bingle Bingle. We've also refined the existing English translations for clearer expressions!

The added languages were prioritized based on popular demand. However, the current translations are in beta and provided as examples. Since machine translation was used, please understand if the quality is not perfect. Report any problematic text to us, and we'll strive to improve the translations.



[h3]How to Add Translation Files for Unsupported Languages[/h3]

0. Before starting, note the path for the KnittingGames folder as follows:
1) For Windows: "user/appdata/roaming"
2) For Linux: "home - *show hidden files* - .local/share"

1. Create a folder named after the language you want to add (let's call this language "Binglian") in the knittinggames/binglebingle/language directory.

2. Inside knittinggames/binglebingle/language/Binglian, create GameText.json and language.json files, and add a font file [e.g., ttf, otf].

If you create a folder with a name that exactly matches the spelling of officially supported languages in the current live version settings—English, French, Spanish, Korean, Russian, Japanese, Chinese—the embedded fonts in 'bingle bingle' will be used. Therefore, there will be no issues even if the font is not included in the language folder.
However, if you create a folder with a different name, even for the same language (e.g., japanese(0.4.1)), it will be considered a new language, and font files will be required.
So please ensure that you include font information and files if you are not using a folder name that exactly matches the in-game language name. This is essential for proper functionality.


3. Populate the language.json file with character data. (Be sure to refer to the provided link.)

4. Next, fill in the translation contents in the GameText file. (Refer to the provided link.)

5. Run the game, change to the newly added Test version in the options, and restart Bingle Bingle.

6. All done! Now you can play Bingle Bingle in the new language!




[h3]How to Modify Already Supported Languages[/h3]

Modifying a supported language follows a similar process to adding a new translation file, but you can easily make changes by applying already translated data from the provided link. Since the font data is embedded in the game, you don’t need to add font files separately for modifications. In the language.json file, you only need to enter the language code and name. Use the translated data from the link for the GameText.json file.

*Ensure the version data in the GameText file matches the latest version (0.4.1 as of writing)*
*If you want to use a different font from the ones already in use, follow the method for adding a new language.*

- Fixed a bug where the Trickster ability would crash when activated in the Portal Pocket.
- Fixed a bug where the Dwindling Rose Drink would not change the bet type even after being modified.
- Fixed a bug where the game would crash upon death in the tutorial.

Special Pockets & Dart Update



“In this patch, Special Pockets, Darts, and Pocket Packs have been added.

Special Pockets are abilities that add various effects to the roulette. They can be purchased from the shop, added to the roulette, and provide various abilities based on different concepts.”

- Star Pocket: Balls that enter this slot gain 50% more points. Price - 7 Coins.
- Gold Pocket: When a ball enters this slot, you gain 1 Gold. It can be activated once per round. Price - 4 Coins.
- Forge Pocket: Tokens from balls that enter this slot are leveled up. Price - 9 Coins
- Frozen Pocket: This slot is frozen at the start of the round. Price - 2 Coins
- Joker Pocket: This slot is treated as any number and color. Price - 7 Coins
- Portal Pocket: Balls that enter this slot are moved to another designated Pocket. Price - 6 Coins
- Chain Pocket: Select three Pockets at once. When a ball enters this slot, you gain 10% of the bet from all other Chain Pocket slots. Price - 6 Coins
- Gluttony Pocket: Consumes balls that enter this slot. Each consumed ball grants 15 points. Price - 5 Coins

“Darts are unlocked after clearing Stage 3 once and become available in the next game. They start appearing from Stage 2 and modify the roulette.”

“Darts add various positive or negative effects to the round, providing diversity to regular rounds. The number of Darts increases as you progress through the stages, with 0 to 3 Darts appearing per round.”

- Gold Pocket Dart: Adds 6 Gold Pockets during this round.
- Forge Pocket Dart: Adds 2 Forge Pockets during this round.
- Token Upgrade Dart: Upgrades the last used token.
- Token Downgrade Dart: Lowers the level of the first used token by 1.
- More Token Dart: Adds one more token for the round.
- More Target Score Dart: Increases the score required to clear the round by 20%.
- Color Pocket Dart: Changes the roulette's color to the specified color during this round.
- 0 Pocket Dart: The first slot where a ball lands becomes 0.
- Discard Reduce Dart: Reduces the number of discards by 2.
- Bet Freeze Dart: Freezes 33% of the Pockets in the first bet.

“Additionally, Pocket Packs have been introduced, allowing a new way to adjust the numbers on the roulette. After selecting the corresponding bet, Pocket Packs provide multiple numbers related to that bet. They appear with low probability in the shop’s Pocket slots. With Pocket Packs, players can more actively modify the roulette to their desired form.”

“The overall system has been balanced accordingly due to the addition of these elements.”

[h3]Balance Adjustments:[/h3]

“Until now, the game design allowed players to automatically get stronger as they progressed, with increases in round tokens, discards, and reward coins. This excess in later rounds overshadowed the sense of achievement from active strategies like using items or quests. To address this, we're standardizing resource amounts in the later game stages. This patch will introduce new features to help players grow stronger in a more balanced way.”

- Starting from Stage 2, round tokens and discards per round will be consistently 6 and 5, regardless of the stage
- Starting from Stage 2, each round will give 8 gold coins.
- Starting from Stage 2, boss rounds will provide 12 gold coins.

“The multi-ball was already the most valuable in earlier versions. With new special pockets, its value rose further, leading to adjustments. Now, while the multi-ball's base value is higher, its enhancement from scoring points has been moderated.”

- Fixed a bug where the game would crash if the Trickster started and then continued after an immediate exit.

[h2]Balance Adjustments:[/h2]

- Ball & Bet Upgrade categories in the shop are now merged into the ball category and bet category.
- Therefore, from now on, ball upgrades will appear in the ball section, and betting upgrades will appear in the betting section in the shop.
- The probability of upgrades appearing will increase as the stages progress. By the time you reach stage 3, the desired upgrades will appear at the same probability as before, and the probability will increase further as you advance.

[h2]Ball or Bets Adjustments:[/h2]

- The Pocket Ball has been reworked.
- The Pocket Ball now allows you to select 4/3/2/1 number of pockets based on its ability level before rolling the ball. The pocket where the Pocket Ball lands will be one of the selected pockets.
- The Pocket Ball is no longer fragile.

- The Repeat Ball has been updated. The Repeat Ball now interacts with Multi Balls according to the remaining counts. If there are 3 uses left but 5 Multi Balls are rolled, 3 balls will occupy the Repeat Ball slot (the display of remaining uses will be added later).

[h2]Badge Adjustments:[/h2]

- Duality now provides 50 chips instead of 20 chips per two-colored pocket.
- Duality now only provides chips for pockets with two colors.
- Prime Number has been buffed, providing 90 chips instead of 75 chips.
- Indecisive Pocket now provides 4% extra score per pocket change instead of chips.
- The price of Indecisive Pocket has increased from 9 coins to 11 coins.
- Betsudo has been reworked: instead of reducing chips by the number of empty pockets, it now provides chips based on the length of the streak of the same color adjacent to the pocket where the ball lands, giving 15 chips per connected same-color pocket.
- Do a Barrel Reroll has been reworked: now, rerolling earns stacks, which are randomly distributed into ball points/chips/score upon each reroll. Do a Barrel Reroll starts with 30 stacks when purchased.
- The price of Do a Barrel Reroll has increased from 7 coins to 9 coins.

[h2]Quest and Reward Adjustments:[/h2]

- Natural Selection has been updated: its basic functionality remains, but the description has been made more intuitive.
- Natural Selection now provides 4 discard attempts / 1 attempts for House Edge(Quest Varoni) when chosen.
- The clear condition for Natural Selection in House Edge mode (Quest Varoni) has been changed from requiring success in two rounds to only one round.
- Investment now provides 4% extra score per gold instead of chips.
- Monochrome now changes the first 3 bet types to color bets when selected.

[h2]Bug Fixes:[/h2]

- Fixed a bug where the game couldn't restart after exiting the perk shop.
- Fixed the issue where repulsion caused a crash when all pockets on the wheel had the same number.
- Fixed a bug where bet abilities appeared in the tutorial.
- Fixed a bug where Snowdrop's multiplier was not being applied.

- Updated the description of the Reroll Bellini to match the changed shop.
