Atuel will be at Out of Index 2025 in Korea!

[p]Atuel will be exhibited at Out of Index 2025, Seoul's premiere experimental games festival, from the 5th to the 7th of December![/p][p][/p][previewyoutube][/previewyoutube][p][/p][p]Since its first edition in 2014, Out of Index has been a Korean games festival that focuses on the "ideas and experiments of game creators, rather on the popularity and marketability of their games." It is interested in the people that make games more than on the people who play them, and is more curious about how games are made than whether they're fun or not. This year, "Out of Index introduces new games filled with questions and curiosity. Finding the answers? That's up to you!"[/p][p][/p][p]Out of Index 2025's exhibit will include the following games:[/p]

Atuel won the Aware Games Award!

[p]Atuel won the “Aware Games Award” at BLON Animation and Games Festival in Klaipėda, Lithuania![/p][p]During the award ceremony, the Jury had the following to say: “Dive in. Float. Explore. Become one with 'Atuel’s' ecosystem. 'Atuel' challenges what games are: an interactive experience, a documentary, a meditative state of mind. 'Atuel' is all of this. It shows us why it’s important to preserve and protect our environment and the stories contained within it.”[/p][p]We’re very happy for this recognition and for the very warm welcome we received from BLON’s organizers and its audience![/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p]

Atuel at BLON Animation and Games Festival

[p]Atuel is in Klaipėda, Lithuania this week as part of BLON Animation and Games Festival! It will be exhibited in its 'Aware Game Awards' showcase.
[/p][p]"This programme is dedicated to celebrating those games that strive to raise awareness about a range of topics, from personal experiences to global or social issues – games that focus on immersion and empathy, helping us to better understand each other and the world around us. We aim to show our audiences a completely different and unexpected side of gaming, while also inspiring and involving local creative communities."[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p]

Atuel at the Swiss Museum of Games

[p]Atuel is being shown at the Swiss Museum of Games as part of their year-long exhibit, Planète Jeux.  This interactive exhibition invites the public to explore the links between play, nature, and the environmental crisis.  [/p][p]"From resource management to video games where ecosystems are fields of exploration and confrontation, nature occupies a central place in the imagination of play. Since the end of the 20th century, this theme has become increasingly important. Through board games, video games, and other forms of play, Planète Jeux questions our relationship with the environment and the worldviews shaped by play: should we accumulate resources to win or collaborate to preserve the planet?"[/p][p]This exhibit also explores the impact on the planet generated by the industrial chain of production necessary to make games, from the extraction of precious metals in the Global South, to the amount of electricity required to power high-end gaming consoles, to the carbon footprint of its global supply chains.[/p][p]Planète Jeux began in April 2025 and will last until March 2026. Other games being exhibited alongside Atuel include Walden, Flower, Terra Nil, Abzu, Civilization VI, Lichenia, Gibbon, Sim City, and dozens of board games, such as Root, Catan, Wingspan, and many more![/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p]
