Atuel at the Swiss Museum of Games

[p]Atuel is being shown at the Swiss Museum of Games as part of their year-long exhibit, Planète Jeux.  This interactive exhibition invites the public to explore the links between play, nature, and the environmental crisis.  [/p][p]"From resource management to video games where ecosystems are fields of exploration and confrontation, nature occupies a central place in the imagination of play. Since the end of the 20th century, this theme has become increasingly important. Through board games, video games, and other forms of play, Planète Jeux questions our relationship with the environment and the worldviews shaped by play: should we accumulate resources to win or collaborate to preserve the planet?"[/p][p]This exhibit also explores the impact on the planet generated by the industrial chain of production necessary to make games, from the extraction of precious metals in the Global South, to the amount of electricity required to power high-end gaming consoles, to the carbon footprint of its global supply chains.[/p][p]Planète Jeux began in April 2025 and will last until March 2026. Other games being exhibited alongside Atuel include Walden, Flower, Terra Nil, Abzu, Civilization VI, Lichenia, Gibbon, Sim City, and dozens of board games, such as Root, Catan, Wingspan, and many more![/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p]
