Director’s Commentary | Development Update & Duo Mode Test Announcement

[p]Hello, Survivors around the world.[/p][p][/p][p]It has now been ten days since The Midnight Walkers entered Early Access.[/p][p]In what may feel like a short—or perhaps a long—period of time, our development team has been continuously collecting and analyzing your gameplay data, while closely monitoring the current state of the game.[/p][p][/p][p]To be completely honest, based on the feedback and data we have received so far,[/p][p]it’s clear that the current Early Access version of TMW still has areas that are lacking,[/p][p]and there are many aspects of the experience that may feel inconvenient or incomplete from a player’s perspective.[/p][p][/p][p]As a relatively small team, it’s difficult for us to implement every improvement at a rapid pace.[/p][p]However, we are committed to addressing issues one by one and steadily strengthening the foundation of the game.[/p][p][/p][p]We’re also aware that recent discussions in the community have raised concerns about the game’s longevity and the team’s commitment, particularly due to the relatively low concurrent player numbers.[/p][p]That said, the development team—including myself—is fully committed to this project.[/p][p]We are approaching the situation calmly and objectively, and are prepared to steadily work through the roadmap ahead.[/p][p]Above all else, we will continue to prioritize player experience and focus on gradually improving the overall quality of the game.[/p][p][/p][p]In line with our development progress, we are also preparing plans for more active marketing and external exposure.[/p][p]Rather than focusing on short-term numbers, our goal is to grow The Midnight Walkers into a game that more players discover over time—and choose to stay with for the long term.[/p][p][/p][p]There are also a few operational topics we’d like to address.[/p][p]We take teaming and cheating issues very seriously and are implementing all possible measures to prevent them.[/p][p]If players lose equipment due to bugs or cheating-related issues, please contact our Help Center.[/p][p]After internal verification, we do provide item restoration support where applicable.[/p][p][/p][p]All feedback you share with us during Early Access will serve as a crucial reference in shaping the future direction of TMW.[/p][p]We truly want to refine and improve this game together with you.[/p][p][/p][p]Lastly, we’d like to address the highly requested Duo Mode.[/p][p]In either the next patch or the following one (as additional development is required and we are currently discussing the exact timing within the team),[/p][p]we plan to temporarily test Duo Mode within Survival Mode only.[/p][p]Given the current player population, there are limitations to running multiple modes simultaneously.[/p][p]For this reason, we will collect data through Duo play in Survival Mode over approximately two weeks,[/p][p]and then carefully evaluate whether to introduce the mode permanently.[/p][p][/p][p]While there is still much room for improvement,[/p][p]we firmly believe this is a game with significant potential to grow.[/p][p]We will continue to share our progress with you openly and transparently.[/p][p][/p][p]Thank you.[/p][p][/p][p]— Director of The Midnight Walkers[/p]
