Exploration Log #2: Life Amid the Ruins

Hello, Scavengers!
This is your Relay Officer from Scavenger T.O.M.

Today’s topic: Survival and how exploration and resource collection are key to staying alive.
Survival begins with one thing: securing what you need. 🧭

The surface remains a dangerous wasteland, shrouded in mystery.
But to keep going, we must send T.O.M to scavenge for crucial supplies — food, fuel, mechanical parts, and more.
Every second counts, and every decision matters. Time and energy are precious in a world where everything is scarce.

We’re currently working on developing the exploration loot system.
It's not just about collecting — it's about constantly weighing what to carry, what to leave, and what your survival depends on. And for that, we’d love to hear your feedback!

Here’s a sneak peek at some of the key item types under development:
⚙️ Core Items You Can Discover Through Exploration
Canned food is a true survival classic. 🥫
Sealed in metal (usually tin or aluminum) and sterilized through heating, it’s known for lasting long and staying safe — even beyond its expiration date.
It’s no wonder it fits perfectly in the world of Scavenger T.O.M.

While its final function is still under development, we’re curious —
What do you think is an absolute must-have survival item? Let us know!

Fuel canisters store different types of fuel and are essential for powering generators, vehicles, and other energy-dependent systems. ⛽ We’re designing them with clear visual cues — colors and numbers — to represent type and efficiency.
Fuel will play a critical role not only in T.O.M’s operations but also in powering your base and crafting stations. We can’t wait to see the kinds of decisions you’ll make with just one canister in your inventory.

The surface is littered with the broken remnants of a forgotten world — abandoned machines, busted cars, and scrapped electronics.
Once everyday items, they’ve become lifelines for our survival. 🔩

Mechanical parts are used to upgrade facilities, craft tools, and restore lost systems.
T.O.M might shout “Jackpot!” every time it finds one — trust us, they’re that valuable.

Below are two examples representing a circuit and a gear.
They may look different, but both are essential for keeping machines running.

What goes into which craft? You’ll need to explore and find out for yourself.
In this world, every single resource matters.

Survival doesn’t start with high-tech weapons. It starts with a rock. 🪨

Stone is one of the most basic — and most important — resources in Scavenger T.O.M.
You’ll need it to build facilities, reinforce structures, and it can often be used raw without refinement.

You’ll find yourself saying: “I can never have enough stone.”
As time goes on, you’ll unlock rarer materials like iron, copper, rubber, or silicon —
but that doesn’t make stone any less vital. Steady supply = survival.

And there’s more in the works!
Check out the image below — it shows some of the items currently in development. 👇

What do you think these are for?
Base building? Gear crafting? Or maybe essential survival consumables?

Take your best guess — or better yet, tell us what kind of resource you wish existed!
Your idea might just become part of the game. 👀

Exploration isn’t just about gathering.
Every choice — where to go, how far to push — is a matter of life and death.

The farther T.O.M ventures, the rarer the finds...
but the greater the energy drain and risk.

Run out of fuel before you make it back to base...
and that expedition might be your last. 💀

But even one small can of food brought home by T.O.M...
might be the difference between life and death for someone.

Survival never stops.
