Hello, Scavengers.
This is the Relay Officer of Scavenger T.O.M.
Today’s exploration log tells a special story.
It’s about the day everything began — the moment TOM was awakened for the very first time.

It seemed like any ordinary day.
But the world had already begun to unravel.
Climate anomalies were worsening, and radiation storm alarms had become part of daily life.
The Earth’s rotation was slowing down, breaking the balance between day and night.
By then, underground bunkers were standard in every household.
And humanoid robots had long since become common — handling deliveries, cleaning, caregiving... every part of life.

Our protagonist was just another maintenance worker living in this era, doing bunker upkeep.
His only companion? A clunky old robot named TOM, inherited from his grandfather.
Outdated in every way — specs, appearance, design — but loyal and ever-present.
He once dreamed of owning a better robot, a faster machine...
But in reality, his days were filled with ration calculations and delivery requests.

Then one day, he received a delivery order from a private, unfamiliar bunker:
“Canned food. Drinking water. No humanoids allowed. Must be hand-delivered by a human.”
It was suspicious — but he didn’t think much of it.
He left TOM behind in the control room and made the delivery alone.
But the moment he stepped inside, the automatic lockdown protocol activated.
The entrance sealed shut.
At first, he thought it was just a system error.
He tried to override the lockdown using TOM’s remote,
but there was no signal. No control.
The bunker shifted into minimal power mode —
and silence and darkness slowly swallowed his world.
From time to time, he heard strange vibrations and distant chaos.
For a week, he endured — trapped in fear, unable to understand what was happening.
And then finally, the noise outside stopped.
That’s when he realized:
The world had ended.

With his two-week supply of rations running out,
lights suddenly flickered on, and the power returned.
Stunned, he grabbed the remote.
And then —
TOM began to boot up.
He could have tried to unlock the door. He could have fled.

He sent TOM out first.
From that moment on,
TOM became his only eyes,
and his only hope for survival.
