Greetings, Players! It's been a while since our last Dev Log.
We hope you've all been doing well.
Today we've brought some new updates on our development progress, following the pre-alpha test, and briefly introduce the new characters, Delia and Karok, revealed from our last trailer video.
[h3]1. New Field Elements[/h3]
You may remember defeating enemies and squeezing through narrow paths to reach the boss back in the pre-alpha.
In the upcoming Alpha test, you’ll encounter even more interactive elements throughout the battlefield:
You'll be able to climb ladders and ride ziplines to venture places out of reach,
and use grappling hooks to overcome obstacles in your way.
Of course, this won't be the only thing you'll come across, as there will be various challenges during your adventure.
You'll have to battle through enemies waiting for you to arrive, or might stumble on a trap to distract you.
But don't worry, you'll also be able to discover hidden rewards throughout your exploration, so we recommend opening any chests you find on your way.
[h3]2. Enhanced Combat Experience[/h3]
1) Precision ActionDuring your journey, meeting a formidable enemy is inevitable.
For situations like this where you can't avoid engaging in battle, we've designed a special combat experience called 'Precision Action'. We expect this to bring satisfaction from mastering combat and overcoming even the toughest foes.
Note that in Vindictus: Defying Fate, a Precision Action refers to an action executed in sync with an enemy’s attack.
The key to Precision Action is executing the action with precise timing.
When successful, it either triggers a Perfect Guard, blocking the attack entirely, or a Perfect Dodge, which flows into a powerful counterattack, depending on the character.
Master the enemy's movements and turn the tide of battle with Precision Action!
2) Monster's Stagger State and Fatal ActionWhen an enemy is staggered and can no longer maintain its stance, a stylish Fatal Action is a great option to gain the upper hand.
By attacking the enemy you can build up a stagger gauge, and when the gauge is full the enemy loses its stance for a brief moment.
You can then perform the Fatal Action to the unconscious enemy, taking it down.
To maximize the thrill of combat, all characters: Lann, Fiona, Karok, and Delia, will receive a unique Fatal Action fit for their own distinct combat styles.
[h3]3. Karok and Delia[/h3]
"Karok" is a half-giant warrior who crushes his opponents with a massive pillar.
(In the world of Vindictus: Defying Fate, Half-Giant refers to those born between human and giant bloodlines.)
He may seem grave, but he's a man of a warm heart, dedicated to protecting the weak.
Don't miss out on his powerful presence during battle!
"Delia" is a noble princess with confidence in her own path, who cleaves through opponents with a mighty greatsword.
With an unwavering sense of justice and proud elegance, she earns the trust of everyone she meets.
We hope you look forward to seeing what she can do on the battlefield.
