August Dev Log
Hello Mercenaries,
As we move from July into August, the intense summer heat continues.

Today, we're here to cool off the summer heat with a refreshing look at the 'Frozen Valley',

and the 'Kobold' tribe you can encounter there.
1. Introducing the Frozen Valley
Beyond the Northern Ruins lies a land covered in ice—the 'Frozen Valley'.

Though not far from the Northern Ruins, this area features an environment completely different from what you're used to.

The chill from a distant ice volcano has dramatically shaped the climate here.
2. Features of the Frozen Valley
The Frozen Valley is within Fomor territory, but the Fomor forces have not established a military base or settlement here.

This is due to the unstable ice volcano and the pervasive cold that envelops the area.

This is also why human forces have not expanded into this area, despite Fomor’s loose surveillance.

Amidst this snow-covered wilderness, free from the influence of both factions, only the unique 'Brig' crystals shine and glimmer in the cold light.
3. The Kobold Tribe
In the Frozen Valley, you'll encounter the 'Kobold Tribe', who make their livelihood through physical labor.

[Kobold at Work] Please note that the visuals are subject to change.

The Kobold Tribe takes great pride in their robust physiques, powerful strength, and swift work skills, which allow them to handle even the toughest labor with ease.

Their favorite activity is gathering with fellow tribe members to enjoy a spicy garlic meal after completing their tasks perfectly.

What brought the Kobold Tribe to this cold and dangerous Frozen Valley?

Many untold stories remain in Vindictus: Defying Fate.

The monthly Dev Log series will take a brief hiatus after August. We'll be back soon with even more exciting content and good news.

In the meantime, stay cool, and we look forward to seeing you in the next Dev Log.

Thank you.

July Dev Log
Hello Mercenaries,
In the previous Dev Log, we introduced you to Colhen and Kalbram merc.

Today, let's explore the 'Northern Ruins,' the first battle area you'll venture into, and the 'Gnoll' tribe of Fomors you'll encounter there.
1. Introduction to the Northern Ruins
A border region next to Colhen. Here, ruins worn down by time are scattered and mingled with nature.

Humans refer to this place, whose original purpose has long been forgotten, as the 'Northern Ruins' in the land of the northern Fomors.

The Northern Ruins are near the front line that separates human and Fomor territories.

It was once human land, but due to the strength of the Unified Fomor Forces, the front line was pushed back, and absorbed as Fomor territory.

Despite being occupied by the Fomor forces, the Northern Ruins remained abandoned.

Due to its proximity to each other's territories, neither side was willing to advance recklessly, resulting in its status as a neutral zone by mutual, unspoken agreement.
2. The Current State of the Northern Ruins and the Gnoll Tribe
As the war between humans and Fomors dragged on, the Royal Knights and the Fomor Force held back their attacks, focusing on reorganizing their battle lines.

However, a recent report to the Royal Knights has reignited previously subdued tension.

The 'Gnoll' tribe, which is part of the Fomor Force, has been spotted in the Northern Ruins.

The Gnoll tribe, with whom you fought fierce battles during the Pre-Alpha test last March, usually roams around the Fomor territories in search of prey.

According to a recent report from the Kalbram Mercenaries, the Gnolls in the Northern Ruins seem to be setting up a base, like they're planning to settle there.

What could be the Gnolls' purpose?

Is this movement a signal from the Unified Fomor Forces to resume the war?

The Royal Knights are on high alert, closely watching the Northern Ruins.

As the tension of war looms more than ever, are you ready to face the upcoming battles?

We look forward to seeing how your efforts will shape the future.

See you soon in the next Dev Log.

Thank you.

June Dev Log
Hello, Mercenaries.
Time flies by, and summer is just around the corner.

In today’s June Dev Log, we’d like to briefly introduce you to the basic background of our game.

Let’s take a look at the town where you begin your journey and the Mercenary Corps you’ll belong to in Vindictus: Defying Fate.
1. Colhen, where the story begins
We introduce Colhen, the village where your adventure begins.

This humble village, located near the frontlines, suffered great damage from the United Fomor Force serving the Demon Lord in the past.

Afterward, the Royal Knights realized the need for enhanced security. This led to their decision to establish a new Mercenary Corps, and during the process of stationing them in various base areas, Colhen was included.

The village, once brutally trampled, is now being protected by the Kalbram Mercenary Corps led by Captain Aidan. You can feel the unique atmosphere of Colhen, where civilian houses and military facilities coexist, creating a blend of peace and tension.

Please note that the visuals are subject to change.
2. The Mercenary Corps
The Rocheste Royal Knights Regular Mercenary Corps, also known as the “Kalbram Mercenary Corps,” is stationed in Colhen by the order of the Royal Knights to maintain security in the village and the nearby frontline areas.

As a member of the Kalbram Mercenary Corps, you will navigate through the story of Vindictus: Defying Fate.

[The name, ‘Kalbram’]

Kalbram was originally the name of Colhen’s Vigilance Committee.

As the war between humans and Fomors dragged on and the Royal Knights’ forces dwindled, the residents of Colhen devised a self-defense measure to protect themselves from the security vacuum.

However, ordinary villagers like farmers and blacksmiths were not enough to defend themselves from the Fomors’ attacks. When the day came that the Fomors attacked Colhen, most of the Kalbram vigilantes lost their lives.

Later, Captain Aidan named the Mercenary Corps after the Vigilance Committee to honor their noble patriotism.

[The Kalbram Mercenary Outfits]

Mercenary Corps’ uniforms focus on practicality rather than style.

All Mercenaries are required to wear the Mercenary Uniform as part of the regular units of the Knights. But due to the unique nature of their employment contracts, many still prefer to wear their own outfits.

However, Mercenaries still have to carry a badge indicating their affiliation with the Kalbram Mercenaries if they’re wearing casual outfits.

Below is the concept artwork of the Mercenary Uniforms, in development.

As the last Dev Log introduced you to our recent development status, we wanted to go into the lore of VDF this time, which was not originally revealed during the Pre-Alpha phase.

We sincerely thank everyone for your interest and affection towards the game.

Our development team will do our best to make up for your support.

We look forward to seeing you in the next Dev Log.

Thank you.

May Dev Log
Hello Mercenaries,
Ever since we wrapped up the Pre-Alpha test back on March 14th, we're already welcoming the warm days of May.

Today we’re back to briefly share some development updates since the last Pre-Alpha test.
1. New Region and Monsters
[New Region: Ainle]

Here's the video of a glimpse of the new region 'Ainle'.

[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]

The region known as ‘Ainle’ is dark, eerie, and filled with ominous aura, just as its first impression suggests.

What kind of enemies are lurking in this area, ready to challenge you?

In the Ainle region, you'll find the Goblin brigades stationed.

We can tell that they’re far from ‘rational’ just from their gaze and appearance.

[The Goblins appear to have lost their sanity.]
2. Blood Lord
We're also revealing the concept art of 'Blood Lord' from Ainle, which is still a work in progress.

The former Vampire Emperor of the Otherworld, the ‘Blood Lord’ will be reinterpreted in VDF

and brought back as 'a notorious killer who once haunted Ainle'.
3. Aodhan and Gwynn
Here we share the images of the NPCs, Aodhan and Gwynn, who are currently under development.

[Rocheste Royal Army's Stern Knight, Gwynn]

The development team still has several things up their sleeve, more than what we’ve uncovered today.

While there may be some final changes as we continue developing, we wanted to stop by to share the latest news with you.

We'll be back with more updates and news in the future. 😊

Thank you.
