A SPICY GENTLEMAN
Another update has arrived!

Major Changes
- Fire has been reworked, directly applying fire to enemies with a molotov or flamethrower will cause them to run around for a few seconds.
- Water now puts out fire status
- Public lobbies will now always use a dedicated server
Balance Changes
- The nuke explosion radius has been increased significantly
- Daredevil now stacks, causing you to be launched further out of cannons
- Temporarily disabled teleporter on Metro, will be restored and improved in a future update
Fixes
- Fixed naming of Extra Fitness perk to be accurate
- Fixed issue where invisible oil would stick around between rounds
- Added extrapolation of player and physics objects to improve smoothness when network conditions degrade
- Fixed HDR bug on mac and windows that caused menu and win screens to be gray and caused post processing to appear washed out
- Fixed issue where item spawns could occasionally spawn above the ground
- Fixed issue where occasionally players couldn't customize on the lobby screen

Plus various performance improvements across the game.

Bugfixes and Hosting
Balance Changes
- Changed Hot Hands to function more similarly to Bad Influence, having a chance to activate instead of always activating.
Major Bugfixes
- Addressed issue where the character controller would occasionally run multiple times per tick, causing players to move much faster than they should.
Changes to Hosting
With all of the new players who joined during next fest, our server hosting costs were starting to get out of control. We've done a ton of optimization on both the client and server to mitigate this.

In the process of optimizing the game to reduce our server costs, we noticed that hosting without a dedicated server (using Steam Networking to host on a player's machine) is now often a better experience than using a dedicated server, especially in later rounds when you the game gets really chaotic.

By default the hosting will now run the server locally, but you can still choose to use a dedicated server in the host settings menu.

In general, you will have a better experience hosting yourself (without a dedicated server) if you have a reliable internet connection and a decently powerful PC, especially if the people you are playing with are in the same region.
Known Issues
We are aware of some rendering issues related to Auto HDR and Apple Silicon machines, usually manifesting as everything being gray or washed out. We are working on addressing those as soon as possible.

THANK YOU FOR DISPUTING

First, we wanted to give a huge thank you to all of the new players who joined us over Next Fest.
We hope you stick with us as we continue to improve the game and continue prepare the full version!

We have a ton of interesting things planned for the full version of A Gentlemen's Dispute, from tons of new content to new modes and ways to play, and in the future even mods and workshop support. And of course, lots of polish and fixes.

We plan to keep the demo up throughout production of the full version. The full version will be a simple one-time purchase with no microtransactions.
