A Gentlemen's Dispute News

Bugfix Patch

These are combined patch notes for a few small changes that went out since the last update.

- Added join/leave notifications in chat
- Added a chat intro message describing disabling chat and muting other players
- Added a warning for setting no password when hosting a game
- Addressed a bug which made it so that at least one gold item had to be enabled in order for any items to spawn.

If you've been enjoying the demo for A Gentlemen's Dispute, this is a reminder to wishlist!

The full version will have tons more maps, items, perks, modes, as well as Steam Workshop support! . You'll definitely want to check it out when it releases and wishlisting the game helps us out a ton.

[h2]Lobbies & Online Play[/h2]
- The Online Game UI has been overhauled
- More games are now visible
- Your ping relative to each game is now displayed
- You can now choose to host your own or host on a dedicated server regardless of whether the lobby is public or not

The biggest change is the ability to add passwords! Previously you could only play in a private dispute with someone if you were friends with someone who was already in the game. Now streamers, discords, and larger groups of friends can more easily play on a private dispute together.

[h2]Balance[/h2]
- Players are now compensated perks for missed rounds if they join late or leave and rejoin after several rounds. You are compensated 1 less than the number of perks you would have gotten in order to prevent exploiting this system.
- Players will now keep their score if they leave and rejoin a match.
- Resolved a major issue that caused cannons to ignore the combo scaling system.


[h2]Scoreboard UI[/h2]
-You can now mute individual players from the scoreboard.
-The scoreboard will now label whoever is the host with an icon, as well as show who is dead.

[h2]Misc[/h2]
- Significantly improved the appearance of destructible elements
- Improved smoothness of nuke flare and bomb

[h2]Bug fixes[/h2]
-Fixed bug where cannonball damage was not influenced by combo damage reduction system
-Fix loading screen flicker when leaving a local game
-Fixed an animation bug when picking up players

This past week, the team has been extremely hard at work on the full version!

But since its been some time since we've added new content to the demo, we wanted to include a few new customization goodies:

- Added profanity filter, can be toggled in settings

- Made LB an additional jump input

[h2]Bug fixes:[/h2]
- Fixed Rebind UI not working for gamepad
- Fixed bug where C4 stick sound would play many times
- Fixed rebinds not saving between sessions
- Fixed various issues with gamepad menu navigation
- Slightly reduced size of overhead UI
- Fixed C4 not respecting destructibles
- Fixed UI flicker on joining game
- Fixed lingering issue where customization wouldn’t work on joining
- Fixed issues with audio events playing after round ended
- Fixed bug where molotov would stop working if enough were thrown
- Fixed pool on night gardens not extinguishing fire
- Improved vfx for nuke + nuke reticule
- Fixed item UI flicker on round start
- Added additional out of bounds check to prevent falling out of map
- Destructible pieces now shrink/fade out instead of just disappearing
- Fix race condition related to charlatan fade out
- Fixed bug where host would occasionally get teleported back to an older position if they were hit just as they stood up


Bugfix Patch

- Fixed item UI flicker on round start
- Fixed jetpack sounds not being cancelled properly
- Added settings button in lobby
- Updated language to Bad Influence and Thief to specific "Melee" instead of all hits
- Fixed out of bounds check not working when ragdolled in certain scenarios
- Fixed various issues with dedicated server gamestate logic, especially when many players joined and left over time
- Fixed issue where players couldn't customize their character in the lobby under certain conditions
- Fixed game win text not displaying
- Fixed pickup indicator appearing on leaping characters
- Renamed Options to Settings on main and pause menus

+ Various other performance improvements.

- Reduced delay when using items
- Reduced delay when picking up items
- Projectiles and throwables now spawn at the correct position, instead of where you were standing in the past

- Added card pickup sound
- Added round start sound
- Added slap hit and miss sounds
- New movement and item interaction sounds
- New burning and extinguish sounds
- Mix refinements

[h2]Misc Changes[/h2]
- Reduced duration of running-round-on-fire effect
- Removed colliders on candelabra in Ballroom
- Thrown players now deal damage as tackles (including corpses!)
- South gamepad button can now be used to select perks
- Fixed issue where players could be tackled by people they just slapped
- Improved game customization UI
- Added new card art

[h2]Bug Fixes[/h2]
- Move input is no longer ignored on round start
- Aiming is no longer cancelled after shooting
- Fixed leaky bombs not working in most situations
- Fixed issues with racer and fuel discount calculations
- Fixed issue where oil barrel wouldn't damage person who threw it even if it bounced back
- Limited density of oil and fire to reduce performance impact

Plus a ton (like, a ton!) more performance improvements and miscellaneous bug fixes!
