Hello, Survivors!
We continue working on the game, and this week we focused heavily on stabilizing the prologue. The main focus was refining key mechanics and fixing bugs. The update may not be the most visually noticeable, but it’s crucial for the overall quality and stability of the game. Below is a detailed look at what we worked on this week.
Spirit of the Desert
We continue bringing the island to life - the place where the game’s events will unfold. This time, the local flora has expanded: tumbleweeds have appeared in the world. You can now encounter them in various locations during your travels (please don’t play football with them, respect the feelings of plants!)
Throws
We continue to tweak and polish the throwing mechanics: trajectory changes while aiming have been removed. We also added more realism - hitting zombies with objects now stuns them.
Checkpoint Activation
When the player crosses a checkpoint - on foot or by bus - an icon of a bus appears in the bottom-right corner of the screen for a few seconds, signaling that the game progress has been saved.
Additionally, we placed special signs at the checkpoints that change appearance after activation, making the checkpoint status more visible.
Revival System
One of this week’s key improvements. When taking too much damage, the player gradually becomes weaker - first moving with their last strength, then losing consciousness. If the team doesn’t help, the player respawns at the last checkpoint with a small amount of health.
The entire team will also return to the checkpoint if everyone loses consciousness at the same time.
We continue working on the game so we can show it to you as soon as possible. If you want to support development, the best way to do so is to make sure the game is already added to your Steam wishlist.
