Hotfix (ver. 1.1.0F2)

Hey Lightbearers.

We added a Rescue Feature for those of you who got stuck, not because of the Miasma, but because the procedural generation was mean to you. When you are in your village and an NPC is missing you can open the settings scteen to reset your village. Be warned that all quest progress is lost.

We also fixed all resolution and screen mode bugs.

The moment we’ve been working so hard towards has arrived – Into the Emberlands has officially launched out of Early Access and we are so excited to finally present the full game to you!
Your support, thoughtful reviews, and suggestions have been a huge help in shaping the game into what it is today.   • Some more polishing to ensure the Emberlands shine brighter than ever:
  • Fixed a bug where pick-ups could be multiplied using a gamepad.
  • Resolved an issue with UI focus disappearing in character selection with a gamepad.
  • Tweaked spawn rates of various world events for better balance.
  • Fixed starter items missing for the Schooled character.
  • Characters no longer run in place when the game is paused.

We’ve got an exciting new update that’s all about letting you shine a little brighter while you traverse the Emberlands! This update introduces some fantastic new player skins and a collection of delightfully weird and adorable pets to keep you company on your adventures. From quirky companions to unique Lightbearer styles, there’s plenty to discover that will add a little fun and individuality to your journey. ✨

Meanwhile, we’re hard at work behind the scenes, marching steadily toward Version 1.0. The end of the Early Access phase is nearing as we are getting to a point where we consider Into the Emberlands complete. Your feedback and support have been instrumental in getting us here, and we can’t thank you enough!

We’ve added some new additions to your Steam experience:
  • 6 Trading Cards to collect.
  • 5 Chat Emoticons: Express yourself in the Emberlands style!
  • 4 Profile Backgrounds: for you to bring the cozy Emberlands vibes to your Steam profile.
    Profile Badges: 5 levels of badges (plus a foil badge!) to show off your achievements.

The Dubious Dunes Update is here!

Hey Lightbearers! 🥳🎮

We know it’s been a bit quiet lately, but that’s because we’ve been cooking up something big – and it’s not just the upcoming 1.0 release! We’re thrilled to introduce an entirely new biome for you to explore right now! 😍

Get ready to explore the ✨ Dubious Dunes ✨ the scorching fourth biome of Into the Emberlands!

Think you can survive the blistering heat and harsh, dry stretches of this desert wasteland? The Dubious Dunes is no ordinary place – this is an endgame biome! So, clear out your inventory, grab the biggest coin purse you can find, and make sure your ember lantern is at max capacity before venturing into this mysterious, treasure-filled desert.

In this vast, dangerous expanse, you’ll stumble upon ancient relics, encounter some questionable creatures in suits, and meet the peculiar but helpful hagwash. Hunt for gold, expand your gear beyond its usual limits, and make sure you get back to the village before your ember runs dry – because only then can you truly bask in the glory of your treasure-filled victory.


[h3]Dubious Dunes Content Updates:[/h3]

New biome:
  • Venture out to find the Dubious Dunes. Come prepared and cross the Enderlands to discover the new biome!


New locations:
  • Lost Bunker: find treasures of immense worth, but beware of curses!
  • Junky Trunk: Something might still be in there… if you could just find the keys.


New NPCs:
  • Historian: They might be interested in relics of the past!
  • Reptiloneat: Certainly sketchy… are you sure you want to take them up on their offers?
  • Hagwash: Seems little weird at first but might turn out to be rather adorable and helpful.
  • Trade Peddler: Need to make some space in your inventory? Visit the peddler!

...and new items that you will have to discover yourselves 😉

  • Fixed FPS dropping while holding an item
  • Left/right navigation using gamepad in inventory is now 100% reliable
  • Fixed Lightbearer not stopping while game is paused when using gamepad
  • Fixed mouse cursor sometimes moving on its own when using gamepad
  • Fixed initial rotation of movement cost UI when using gamepad
  • Fixed miasma sound playing in tutorial when it shouldn't
  • Fixed low ember warning staying around after quitting gameplay
  • Fixed button prompts not adapting to input device in intro cinematic
  • Fixed tool burning button prompt disappearing after burning one tool
  • Item demand numbers no longer cover up item icons in pop-up UI
  • Added background to "inventory full" message to improve legibility
  • Fixed UI focus disappearing when using shoulder buttons in gameover screen
  • Tooltip UI no longer overlaps with pop-up UI when using gamepad
  • Changing input device no longer breaks dialogue text

Steam Deck Verification - Update!

[h3]We are Steam Deck verified[/h3]

Hey Lightbearers! 🥳🎮
We have great news: after putting in a lot of work in the past weeks, we are now Steam Deck verified! While Into the Emberlands was previously “playable” on the Steam Deck, it should now be a way smoother experience for all you Deck users! 🤩
We believe that Into the Emberlands is the perfect game for relaxing on the couch after a long day, so this was very important for us (and we’re really big fans of handheld gaming ourselves). 🛋️🎮


In addition to Steam Deck support, the overall gamepad experience has been improved, so those of you who prefer playing with a controller should have a better time with the game now!

We are preparing a content update for the next big patch, so stay tuned as we will spill some hints on our Social Media accounts 😉.
Also, please keep the feedback coming! Being in Early Access is a great opportunity for us to keep fine tuning Into the Emberlands and to improve balancing and QoL, but we need your help for that!   • Tool multi-use: tools now remain active until explicitly discarded by the player, allowing you to use it multiple times in a row without having to reselect it

  • “Get rewards here” icon for Embercluck & Tool Pickup Station

  • Item stacks now have their own 3D models (e.g. stack of wood)

  • When receiving coin or ember crystal beyond capacity limit, a small X now indicates that it is lost
