Patch 0.8.0.62121555

The game is rapidly developing, happy to announce a new patch. By the way, there are many more updates on the Discord server.

CORE


THE MOST IMPORTANT
- Finally, the game scales have been put in order.
All this time, the project had a fundamental error from the days when improperly scaled assets were used (not my fault, but I didn't notice). Now all objects and distances between them correspond to real sizes. This has led to distances almost doubling and has affected shooting and the feeling of distances compared to how it was (At first, it may seem unusual).

GAMEPLAY


- The map now has "Cache" containers, which are active in all modes except Trophy Hunter. You can store loot in these containers, and at the end of the game, it is automatically saved to your personal collection. (Marked on the minimap as )
- If your drone remains intact until the end of the game, it returns to your personal storage.
- Fixed the absence of hit indication on one-shots.
- Fixed incorrect display of friend/foe and points of interest when changing teams.
- Mushrooms now restore health throughout the entire duration of the effect.

AI


- Bots are added to the game by default. To add bots, enter "addbot" in the console.
- Bot names are now permanent and do not change during the session.
- Killing bots now also deducts tickets from the team.
- Fixed a bug where bot kills were not counted in the host player's statistics.
- Fixed a bug where bots did not appear in match results.
- Fixed a bug where bots did not take damage from fire.
- Fixed a bug where bot rotation after map reload worked incorrectly.
- Fixed a bug where bots did not deal damage when shooting with a crossbow or firearms.
- Bots now engage in firefights more realistically and can really give you a hard time.

Hello!
There hasn't been any news lately due to a vacation. Returned a week ago and now back to work.

AI
  • Fixed bot spawn in team modes. (Bots are now correctly distributed among teams as required by the game mode.)
  • Fixed a bug where bots would not spawn after reloading the map.
  • Bots behave more naturally in team modes. (They advance to the capture point as required by the mode.)
  • Fixed a bug where a bot would shoot a crossbow without reloading.
  • The map Test Range now also supports team deathmatch.
  • Improved bot behavior in the "Trophy Hunter" mode.


Gameplay
  • Fixed a bug with incorrect friend/foe display in team modes.
  • Improved recoil for all types of firearms.
  • Fixed a bug on the mortar where the distance would stop updating.
  • Teams are now divided into factions (Currently, only 2 are available: "Division" and "Rebels").
  • The team stash now includes a standard set of weapons and equipment for the selected faction. (The set is infinite)
  • Fixed the running animation sticking when using the jetpack.
  • New command to add a jetpack "addjet".
  • New command to add night vision goggles "addnvg".


Map Builder
  • Added the ability to build roads in the editor. (The editor is currently available only in preview mode and demonstrates future capabilities.)
  • Fixed a bug where the editor would not load when restarting the map.


Server
  • Fixed a bug that might have been causing the server to disconnect in "Trophy Hunter" mode.
  • Optimized the server. The server application size has been reduced from 2.2GB to 770MB (250mb download size), and RAM usage from 2.8GB to 1.6GB.


Gradually getting back into the work process, and it’s clear that the next update will be very large. Therefore, it will take some time.

CAMPS Builder Revealed



Hello everyone!
Here's a brief overview of the new patch 0.8.0.413903

Fixes:
- Fixed inconveniences in using the text chat.
- Fixed a bug where in Trophy Hunter mode, a vehicle passenger would hang in the air when evacuated by another player.
- Slightly improved the Sandbox mode interface.
- In Sandbox mode, bots and player now spawn where the camera is looking.

Recently, many have asked if CAMPS will be more like Escape from Tarkov or Squad?

Therefore, I think it's worth noting again that the main inspirations for the project were ARMA (Operation FlashPoint) and Red Orchestra. EFT or Squad have interesting solutions that can complement the project but are not the primary references.

CAMPS is a military sandbox aiming to incorporate the best and fix the worst. And like any respectable sandbox, in the new patch want to introduce you to the trial version of CAMPS Builder.

What is CAMPS Builder.


It's a powerful and unique map/scenario editor (mentioned before), available not as a separate application but embedded into the game and operating on its resources. To say I was exhausted making it is an understatement. Thanks to everyone who helped debug the editor over the past week, it wasn't easy, but the crash reasons were found and fixed.

I've been working on the tools for a long time, and now that the stable version is ready, I will be glad if you find the time to try it out.

What is available in the trial version:
- 2 biomes available: "Taiga" and "Savanna"
- Landscape generator.
- Vegetation generator.
- Lighting settings.
- Water settings.
- Building construction.
- Map saving/loading.

What will be added:

- Road construction.
- Fence construction.
- Advanced settings for building houses and working with the environment.
- Tools for landscape design.
- Tools for scenario creation.

What's happening now:

- Adding DLSS and FSR support.
- Optimizing the server build size.
- Optimizing the editor.
- Bringing heavy machinery back into the game.



Due to this, tests are postponed for a while, but the next one will include heavy machinery.

Weekly Patch Review

Hi there,

Thanks to everyone who has reported issues. Your feedback is invaluable in helping shape the game and resolve problems.

Here is a summary of this week's hotfixes:

Game Logic

- SCA (Scavenger) mode renamed to TH (Trophy Hunter).
- Sound settings corrected.
- Fixed a bug where the game continued even if one of the teams ran out of tickets.
- Fixed a bug with infinite clicking of melee attack if a weapon is held.
- Fixed a bug where a player could not respawn after exploding in a vehicle in Trophy Hunter mode.
- Fixed chest camera, now unable to switch to deceased teammates.
- Fixed flickering of marker lights when the vehicle is stationary.
- Fixed a bug with the pink drone.
- A road has been added to the "Garages" location on the "Manilovka" map.
- Some other cosmetic fixes.

Network

- Added text chat (Global, Team, Private). Example of sending a private message: "37 Wait, I'm coming" (Where 37 is the player ID).
- Fixed a bug in DM mode on the dedicated server where only one match was played before the server disappeared from the list.
- Fixed a bug when creating your own server after leaving another server.
- Fixed all errors with vehicle synchronization that caused the vehicles to jerk.

UI

- When attempting to switch teams, there is now a warning about the inability to switch if the player's soldier is alive.
- Fixed an issue where team tickets could be displayed incorrectly.

Weaponry

- Fixed incorrect zeroing on all pistols.

AI

- Fixed a bug with the spawning of bots on a dedicated server when they appeared without weapons and equipment.
- Fixed some errors related to bot behavior (stopped killing themselves and shooting from behind).
- Bots are now automatically added to the game in TH (6 on the map) and DM (3 on location).


Solution to optimize server performance was founded, will conduct tests this weekend. If successful, more servers will be available next week.

Once again, I express my gratitude to everyone who participated in the filming of the demo video. (Despite the project still being very raw, the video is a blast :rocket:)
And to everyone who supports the project's development, both informatively and beyond. You are the best.

If all goes well, something similar will be prepared for each major update, and the more people participate in the future, the more epic the experience will be.

This patch is mainly cosmetic, but includes many fixes:

- Fixed a random bug where the host/server would crash if one of the players left the game. (Verification required)
- Fixed the camera during falls.
- Fixed a bug with disappearing weapon attachments when picked up directly from the ground.
- Fixed the camera when aiming with the M202.
- Fixed a bug that allowed a player to heal another who had lost a limb.
- Fixed a bug with the incorrect order of picking up weapons.
- Corrected the display of day states in sandbox mode.
- Added melee combat tips and weapon holstering/unholstering hints.
- Fixed the effect at distant explosions.
- Resolved a camera break issue in sandbox mode when zooming in excessively and switching the lens mode.
- Fixed a desync in mortar spawn locations.
- Solved a bug where a player was not killed outside the game zone after time expired.
- Fixed volumetric lighting artifacts and moved the lighting quality level to the video settings.
- Sandbox toolkit now available for the host on all maps.
- Fixed localization errors.
- In sandbox mode, items can be spawned on any surface.
- Fixed a buffer issue when teleporting players.
- Corrected occasional incorrect display of ammunition.

Patches and tests will continue weekly, except for hot fixes.
