More Summer Event Improvements and Fixes

The Summer of Screams continues! Today's patch includes several improvements and fixes. Check them out, and be sure to keep an eye out for some new surprises coming soon!

WHAT'S NEW:

  • New Evil Schemes added to Roguevenge that allow the unlocking of an additional Blackstone and Whitestone. Greenstones can now also appear as rewards via new repeatable Daily Schemes.
  • Added a new song to the Summer Event's Beach Radio Spoil (in preparation for the next trap coming soon to the game!)
  • We've performed several notable performance improvement measures including a game engine update and key asset optimization. Players on lower-end devices should experience a general performance boost.


BALANCE CHANGES:
  • The "Basic Badness" Baddie Bonus now increases damage by 3% instead of 2%, and "Basic Badness II" now increases damage by 6% instead of 3%
  • "Scareoscopic" Baddie Bonus now increases damage by 6% instead of 3%
  • "Third Time's the Harm" Baddie Bonus effect duration increased to 33 seconds, up from 13 seconds


BUG FIXES:
  • Fixed the "Crown all Summer Event Stages" Event Quest getting stuck or reset for some players
  • FIxed some Summer Event Quests sometimes getting stuck or resetting progress
  • Fixed the final revealable item in the Summer Event Shop linking to an incorrect Spoil in the previous version
  • Fixed several Nightmares sometimes not functioning in Roguevenge in certain conditions, including More Roomkin, Parcel Panic, Scare Tactics, and Sinister Security

We hope you've been enjoying the new Summer of Screams event! Below you'll find patch notes for today's small bugfix and improvement update.

BALANCE CHANGES:

- The Spinning Fireball Thingie's impact damage has been increased

- The Shrink Ray's Usage Duration and Hero Shrink Duration have both been increased

- "Lit Crits" Baddie Bonus now has a 25% chance to trigger instead of a 50% chance. Its description has also been updated to clarify that it can be stacked.

BUGFIXES:

- Fixed the "Complete today's Daily Scheme with only Summer Spoils Equipped" Daily Event Quest sometimes not completing properly

- Fixed an issue in the mobile version where Optional Reward Ads would sometimes get stuck loading forever on some devices

- Applied several small stability improvements and error preventions

NEW IN THE SUMMER EVENT: [/p]
  • [p]Summer has come to Castle Doombad! Tap the orange EVENT button on the Main Menu to enter the event and get your summer on! This event is available until September 22nd[/p]
  • [p]The Summer Event comes with special new event activities! New daily REWARDS, daily QUESTS, and full-event quests are available. All event quests can be completed in any game mode![/p]
  • [p]6 NEW STAGES have been added as part of the Summer Event! Access them from the event's "Stages "tab. And yes, they're crownable![/p]
  • [p]Over 30 new Summer Event rewards have been added, available for a limited time! The newly added Spoils also include new Baddie Bonus types.[/p]
[p] OTHER ADDITIONS: [/p]
  • [p]Introducing: Roguevenge Stones! Equip Roguevenge Stones to your traps to manipulate their chances of appearing during your runs. This feature unlocks after completing Night 1 in Roguevenge.[/p]
  • [p]On the Steam version, the Trap Shelf now displays each trap's keyboard shortcut.[/p]
  • [p]In Roguevenge, added additional fx and visual polish to the initial castle reveal sequence and the digging underground castle expansion sequence,[/p]
  • [p]Events Spoils now include a special event icon when viewed in the Spoils Screen. (Unlocked Event Spoils stay unlocked past the event/forever),[/p]
[p] BALANCE CHANGES: [/p]
  • [p]Troopkins have had their damage output slightly increased,[/p]
  • [p]The buzzsaw has had its crit rate reduced, as it as higher than intended,[/p]
  • [p]The "Slaycation Wallpaper"'s Baddie Bonus has changed from "Pyrofancy" to a new bonus called "Lit Crits",[/p]
  • [p]The "Winter Blunderland" Baddie Bonus is now 1 Muahaha Slot, down from 2[/p]
  • [p]The "So Pointy" Baddie Bonus is now 1 Muahaha Slot instead of 2, and the damage % has been incresed.[/p]
  • [p]The Sparkkin has received a small reduction to their initial damage[/p]
[p] BUGFIXES: [/p]
  • [p]This update includes numerous stability improvements, specifically fixes to situational errors that could sometimes occur in various parts of the game and cause issues such as soft locks or crashes[/p]
  • [p]Fixed the Randomize Traps feature sometimes not activating the Play button the first time it's used, and also fixed the Equipped label spoiling which traps were selected[/p]
  • [p]Fixed an issue where Fire Doomkins were sometimes not applying the fire/burn effect to heroes

Updates to Spoils Screen, Spoils Favoriting, Fixes, and more!

Hello, villains! Today we have an update that brings some Quality of Life improvements to the game. Read on to find out more, and thanks as always for playing Castle Doombad!

WHAT'S NEW

  • The Spoils Screen has received numerous updates and improvements, including a new "Active Baddie Bonuses" dynamic list (which you can also tap to shortcut to associated Spoils), Baddie Bonuses now show their Muahaha Slot requirement even when disabled, improvements to the feel of the scroller menu, and several visual organizational changes have also been applied.
  • You can now "favorite" your Spoils with the Black Heart button, located in the top right corner of their description. Favorited Spoils can be accessed with a new filter option on the Spoils Screen.
  • You can now see any trap's complete upgrade list with the new "i" button on the Trap Select Screen, found on the right side of each trap's infobox. (Even traps that you haven't unlocked yet)
  • We have adjusted a few of the randomized castle floor designs that can appear in Roguevenge to be more fair when they are used for the Princess Chamber floor. We have also added several new possible castle floor designs/layouts to Roguevenge.,
  • Added the "Updates" button on the Title Screen, which will allow players to now read these patch notes in-game


BUG FIXES:

  • Fixed the "Obtain 6 traps" scheme sometimes not completing properly in Roguevenge,
  • Fixed the "Build the castle to 10 floors" scheme sometimes not completing properly in Roguevenge,
  • Fixed the "Daily Login Rewards" screen getting stuck at the end of a week and not advancing to the next week for some players,
  • Fixed visual weirdness with the "Third Time's the Harm" Baddie Bonus activation particle effect,
  • Fixed the junk pile and glint progress radial sometimes getting stuck if the player starts to move the camera while it's visible,
  • Fixed several minor localization text mistakes/issues,
  • Performed several performance and stability improvements. We are planning to implement more in the near future.
