Whatever flavour of gaming you fancy. We have you covered in the Wired Productions Summer Sale 2023!

Small patch incoming that makes WASD camera panning default

Seemed the new WASD panning wasn't turned on for first time users.
Offcourse that solves nobodies issues. ;) So this patch is to remedy this.

If you already have the game installed you will need to reset your mouse controls or manually set panning to wasd (or arrow keys if you prefer) in the controller menu.

Remember you can rebind nearly all buttons in that menu as well. (always could)

Changed keybindings once more (sorry it's better this way)

default keybindings have changed once more.

floor up = R
floor down = L

demolish = v

that is all ;)

ooh als when switching between towers the ground floor will be default selected or the previously selected floor . So if you skip between different command towers the previous height should stay selected.

let me know if anything broke ;)

keybinding changes and camera panning polish

Hi everyone.

The new free camera that pans on WASD seems to agree with enough off you , that I've been polishing it for a bit.

Here's the changes

-camera now slowly resets to center when building something new or selecting another tower
-camera can now pan and rotate simultaneously
-camera rotation added to Q and E buttons
-floor up /floor down keys moved to 1 and 2 keys
-demolish moved to v key (to prevent issues with windows and steam overlay.

Hope this helps..

Experimental camera panning on WASD now live (I did listen)

I have heard the chorus of people that dislike being stuck to a single tower in build mode.
I even suspect many don't even make it to the surveyor flying mode that is meant to alleviate that.

But I have been trying all kinds of prototypes for a long time to get something working that works with the tower focused building system. That still allows for WASD camera motion across the screen.
I think I've found something,
it's not 100% perhaps what people expect, the camera is still tethered to the tower or surveyor, but the tether is now loose for a about a single screen (so you cannot pan and leave your selected tower, or surveyor out of view)

How it works:

-panning with WASD is now default, it's undocumented and experimental
-orbit now only on the MMB
- you cannot orbit and pan at the same time
-when you scroll down or zoom in, the pan resets itself to focus on your selected tower.
-panning is not supported on controller (tho I doubt controller users will miss it)
So two strong requests:
if you support this change, please please let me know in the comments, it's certainly a devation of the design vision and I need strong backup from everyone that had issues that yes this is going to alleviate your concerns. This has been strangely, and I guess hard to understand, a very hard mechanic to get to work. It also does mess up the building of balconies, cuz that's now very hard when you are panned away. But perhaps that's just the price of accesibility.

If you do not support this change, please please also let me know.

I will make this option available permanent, but if this panning is turned on or off by default is up to you!

Anyways it's live now..
It might cause a lot of bugs, I haven't been able to test it properly. But would like the nextfest players to experience this.

Let me know what's broken please..

to those new, this might feel like a minor update, but both technically, conceptually and in the forum history I think this is the nr1 topic around the game. so chime in please.

Kind regards,
Tomas
