It's a huge week for everyone here at the Wired Family, with our friends at Pollard Studio launching their cinematic narrative thriller, KARMA: The Dark World - this Thursday!

Beta update

Hi everyone ,

I've been busy with something secret for a bit, but I've did some small fixes and backported some nice visual improvements from said secret thing.

So here's a list of the changes available on the Beta Patch (go to game properties/betas and select beta patch).

  • The fast travel button (and a few others) also respond to LMB if you changed the bindings for the 'build' or 'move order' away from LMB
  • Changed app icon (lemme know if this is nicer).
  • lowered ground fog a bit.,
  • improved sun effect and reflection in the ocean
  • fiddled with the holy color gradients to add more color subtlety
  • improved lava/volcanoes visuals
  • made sea waves a bit smoother

Beta patch update:

Someone reporting the peace proposal actually not working, I fixed that by increasing the pacification value when you accept. Also removed any hostile waves en-route.

let me know if this has unintended consquences

  • prevented harbor buildings from spawning in the maw
  • hostile attack armies get set to friendly when peace breaks out
  • hostile attacking armies get scheduled for despawn when peace breaks out
  • reduction of anger towards your faction increased when peace breaks out
  • made random wildlife appear more often


I believe these are the missing changes from the previous beta that got pushed live. Been a bit busy with a secret project, hence those went missing:
  • prevented combat around anomalies from being undecided/unfinished due to enemies being stuck underwater
  • prevented combat around anomalies from being undecided/unfinished due to the battlegroup being stuck at exactly 0 health.
  • prevented the turrets on freebooter units from being replaced with generic point defense weapons
  • reduced the target leading to improve short range point-defense accuracy
