Lunar Eclipse - Update 0.37

Hey everyone!

Today I’m excited to finally share a feature a lot of you have been asking for — full gamepad support is now live in Lunar Eclipse!

It took me about 25 full days (yes, weekends included) to make it all work properly — from rewriting UI interactions to updating every single menu. There's still a few rough edges here and there, so thanks in advance for your patience and understanding. I’ll keep polishing things in the upcoming updates! Let’s dive into what’s new:
Gamepad Support — it’s here!
• Full native support for Xbox controllers has been added.
  • Thanks to Steam Input, PlayStation controllers (and probably others too!) should work automatically, even though they aren’t officially supported yet.

⚠️ Heads-up: If you run the game outside of Steam, only Xbox controllers will work by default. For other controllers, you’ll need third-party software.

  • Right now there’s only Xbox-style button icons, but I’m looking into ways to add automatic layout detection or a manual layout selector in the settings.
  • I also added a help field at the bottom of most menus to show which buttons do what. It switches automatically between gamepad and keyboard depending on what you pressed last.

⚠️ But! I still recommend sticking to one input method — juggling both might confuse the game (and your fingers :D).
Key Remapping for Gamepad
The Controls tab in the settings menu now allows you to fully remap both keyboard and gamepad buttons. So feel free to customize the layout to whatever feels comfy for you.
UI Changes & Improvements
Crafting Menu completely rebuilt to work smoothly with both keyboard and gamepad. It also just looks nicer now (I hope!) — let me know what you think.
Outfits Tab Overhaul
• The Outfits menu has been redesigned to match the new “collectible pieces” system.
  • Now each individual clothing item (top, bottom, etc.) is collected and shown separately. Gotta collect 'em all!
Other Fixes & Improvements
There’s also a whole bunch of small tweaks and fixes sprinkled throughout the game. I won't bore you with every tiny detail, but if something suddenly works better than before — it was probably in this patch :D
What’s Next?
I’m slowly getting back to work on the third major area — it’s coming along nicely!
If all goes well, it should be ready in next two months for Steam and include:
  • A new large zone: Living Rooms
  • New puzzles to tease your brain
  • New outfits (aiming for 3–4 new sets, we’ll see!)
  • And more cool stuff

Thank you so much for your continued support!
Our community is still small, but it means the world to me ❤️

I’m especially excited for the Early Access launch on June 4 — it’s a big and important step for me as a developer, and I’ll keep doing my best to deliver the best experience possible.

I love Lunar Eclipse, and I hope you’ll enjoy the journey alongside me.

Lunar Eclipse - Coming to Early Access on June 4!

Hello everyone!

I’m excited to finally announce that Lunar Eclipse will launch in Early Access on June 4, 2025, on Steam!

This is a huge milestone, and I’m incredibly thankful for all your support, feedback, and kind words since the demo release. The Early Access version includes new content, improvements, and fixes - many of which were directly influenced by the community.

Here’s a quick recap of some of the most interesting additions since the first demo:
New Area: The Basement
Explore a completely new location with fresh puzzles, additional exploration zones, new collectibles, and more intense zombie encounters.
New Outfit: Casual Set
In the basement, you can find a new craftable outfit consisting of a sweater, jeans, boots, and underwear.
To craft it, you’ll need to gather materials dropped from enemies - so be ready to fight and scavenge.
Outfit Crafting System
You can now craft outfits using resources found in the world or looted from enemies.
Outfits are not only cosmetic but also help build immersion and allow you to customize Ealish’s look as you progress.
Expanded Settings Menu
• Camera options: adjust sensitivity, inversion, and position
  • Fully customizable keyboard controls
  • New supported languages: Russian, Ukrainian, and Simplified Chinese
Narrative Improvements
• A large portion of the dialogue has been rewritten for better flow and stronger storytelling.
  • New collectible note type: audio recordings that reveal what happened while Ealish was asleep.
Visual Upgrades
• New enemy models have been added to improve visual variety and overall atmosphere.

...and tons of other improvements and tweaks throughout the game!

Thank you again for your amazing support. I can’t wait to share more updates with you as we move toward the full release.

Don’t forget to wishlist Lunar Eclipse on Steam and follow the game to stay up to date!

Lunar Eclipse - Update 0.36

Hello everyone!

While working on gamepad support and reworking parts of the UI - particularly the graphics settings menu - I introduced a few bugs that affected how graphical settings were initialized, especially for players without existing save data.

This issue caused incorrect defaults to be applied to options like Resolution Scale, Screen Resolution, and other general graphics settings (such as Shadow Quality, Post-Processing Quality, Reflection Quality, etc.).

The issue is now fixed, and everything should initialize correctly. You can continue playing normally.

Please note: Some parts of the UI might still look a bit clunky when using a gamepad. This is a temporary situation.

Once gamepad support is fully finished (hopefully before the Early Access launch), I’ll make a separate announcement dedicated to the new gamepad features, including the reworked crafting menu.

That’s all for now - thank you for your support! I’ll be back soon with more exciting news.

Lunar Eclipse - Update 0.35

Hello everyone!

Today’s update is a relatively small one, but still meaningful. Just to give you a bit of context - I’m currently working hard on preparing the game for Early Access next month, which means lots of things are happening behind the scenes. Despite the workload, I’ve managed to push a few updates: new language support and the first steps toward full gamepad support. Let's go over everything!
Localization
• Ukrainian language has been added - this one is especially close to me, and I’m very happy to finally include it.
  • Simplified Chinese is now also supported - if you're playing in this language, feel free to let me know if anything looks off or needs adjusting!

And of course, if you'd like to see the game in other languages, don't hesitate to leave a comment. If there's enough interest, I'll be happy to add more localizations to my to-do list.
Save System
• Added 4 additional save slots - the total number has now increased from 4 to 8.

    • This should give you more flexibility when experimenting or replaying certain parts of the game.

Let me know if you'd like even more in the future - I’m open to expanding it further based on your needs.
Puzzles
• Added button press animations to keypads, so you’ll now get clearer visual feedback when interacting with them. Small change, but it helps improve the feel of the puzzles.
UI
• Some minor UI effects have been improved - previously they could get stuck during certain animations. This should now work more smoothly.
Settings Menu
• The Display tab has been merged with the Graphics tab. Now all your visual settings are in one place.
  • A new Key Binding tab has been added.
  • Keyboard key bindings have been moved here from the Controls tab.

    • This is part of the ongoing work to support gamepads and improve overall navigation.
    • At the moment, only keyboard key remapping is functional - but gamepad remapping will be added once full controller support is ready.
Outfit Fixes
• Fixed a few small clipping issues with character outfits.

    • Some visual artifacts may still appear due to technical limitations. I’ll keep working to resolve them where possible - thanks for your patience and understanding!
Gamepad Support (Work in Progress)
• I have officially started working on gamepad support, starting with the Xbox controller.

    • You can’t control the character with the controller yet.
    • However, some menus (Main Menu, Options, Collectibles, Journal) should now work properly.
    • Dynamic button hints have also been added - they’ll now change based on whether you’re using a keyboard or controller.

This is just the first step. I’m aiming to finish full gamepad support by the end of this month — I’ll keep you posted!

Thank you so much for your continued support - it really means a lot and keeps me motivated through the development process. If you have ideas, requests, or just want to say hi, feel free to leave a comment below.

More exciting updates are on the way, so stay tuned!

Lunar Eclipse - Update 0.33

Hello everyone!

I'm happy to announce that Lunar Eclipse has been updated to version 0.33!
Although only the Lunar Eclipse Demo is currently available on Steam, I'm actively working on the Early Access version. Many of the improvements made to the full game also affect the demo, as they share the same core systems.

Below are the most important changes introduced in this update:
Dialogue
• Some dialogues have been improved for a smoother narrative flow.
Camera
• The camera behavior has been reworked.
  • You can now slightly zoom/focus the camera using the Right Mouse Button, allowing for more precise inspection of the environment.
  • If the character is crouching and starts an attack, they will automatically stand up for the duration of the attack. You can press C again to crouch after the attack ends.
Camera Options
Some players mentioned that the default camera angle and distance didn’t feel comfortable for them. I really appreciate the feedback and want to make sure everyone can enjoy the game in a way that feels right.

So, based on those suggestions, I’ve added two new camera configuration options:

  • Camera Height Offset – Adjust how high or low the camera is positioned behind the character.
  • Camera Distance – Control how close or far the camera is from the character.

Both options can be found under the Gameplay tab in the settings menu. These changes should help improve visibility and overall comfort while playing.
Journal
• The "Reports" tab has been merged with "Notes".
  • A new tab called "Audio Recordings" has been added.
  • The journal now includes the following sections:

    • Notes: Hints, technical documents, and brief descriptions.
    • Audio Recordings: Events that occurred while Ealish was asleep in the incubator - why there are zombies in the lab, why she slept for so long, and where everyone went.
    • Diaries: Insights into Ealish's childhood, lab staff members, their daily lives, and the purpose of the facility.
Outfit
• A new outfit piece has been added: Uniform E-1 Bra.
  • It can now be found in Ealish’s wardrobe along with the rest of the outfit.
Important Note:
Due to technical limitations, the bra will only appear correctly if you start a new game.
I’m really sorry for the inconvenience this might cause. It’s something I’ll try to improve in the future, and I truly appreciate your understanding.
Collectibles
• Collectible plushies have been improved.
  • They now appear in the player's inventory in addition to the statistics tab. While they don't have functional use yet, their descriptions provide insights into Ealish’s childhood.

That’s all for now!
Thank you so much for supporting Lunar Eclipse.
Early Access is just around the corner, so stay tuned for more updates and don't miss the release!
