[v203 Hotfix Note] New Update & Bug Fixes 1–3

Hello, this is the development team of Backroom Company.

First of all, we sincerely thank you for your interest in Backroom Company and for playing our game.
We are an indie development studio from Korea, and even after the official release, we continue to work hard to provide a better gameplay experience.

Even after the full version release, we will keep delivering various patches and content updates to further improve the game’s quality.
If you have experienced any inconvenience or bugs during play, we sincerely apologize and will do our best to fix the issues as quickly as possible.

Your valuable feedback is a great help to us.
While it may be impossible to perfectly satisfy every player’s taste and playstyle, we will strive to take in as many opinions as possible and reflect them to make the game more polished.

  • Improved the overall graphical environment in the game.
  • Fixed an issue where blood effects appeared to shake when moving the camera.
  • Fixed an issue where certain sounds played unnaturally in specific situations.
  • Fixed an issue where the character collided with objects in the “Swimming Pool” exploration area.
  • Fixed an issue where some settings in the medium graphics option were incorrectly set to higher values.
  • Added an option to invert mouse controls.
  • Fixed an issue where the achievement was not unlocked when dying to the creature “Moth.”
  • Fixed an issue where items under corpses could not be picked up properly.

[v202 Hotfix Note] 9–10 + Hotfix Delay Notice (Game Show Schedule Impact)

Hello, this is the Backroom Company development team.

We would like to inform you in advance that the planned hotfix update for Backroom Company may be slightly delayed.
This delay is due to our participation in BIC and Gamescom, and we have prepared a plan to minimize any inconvenience to players.

Even if the regular patch schedule is partially adjusted, we will immediately proceed with hotfixes for urgent issues that significantly affect gameplay to maintain a stable environment.
We will continue to incorporate as much feedback as possible to make Backroom Company even better.

  • Fixed an issue where ghost characters and spectator cameras were not removed after a player left.
  • Fixed an issue where different audio effects for each room were not applied.
  • Fixed misaligned floor at the parking lot entrance.
  • Fixed an issue where a standing animation briefly played when attempting to use the slide in the "Swimming Pool" map.
  • Stabilized the movement of the "Cart" item.
  • Fixed an issue where the slide was not deactivated upon entering the "Swimming Pool" story.
  • Fixed an issue where the door lock did not work in the "Hotel" story and the ending stage.
  • Fixed an issue where the slide monitor in the "Swimming Pool" displayed a player from a previous slide.
  • Fixed an issue where vents did not open properly in the tutorial and during repeater installation.
  • Simplified graphic images to reduce memory usage.
  • Fixed an issue where the camera shifted during a death sequence while jumping or moving.
  • Fixed an issue where items could get stuck in certain spots in the hub or elevator when dropped.
  • Fixed an issue where the Red Thread relic effect did not apply after the host died.
  • Fixed an issue where relic status occasionally did not sync for joining players.
  • Fixed a potential cause of characters getting stuck when exiting a locker.


We will continue working to deliver a better experience with Backroom Company.

First of all, we sincerely thank everyone who has looked forward to and played our game.
Due to the short development period and limited resources, we are aware that we have not been able to fully meet the expectations many of you had.
We sincerely apologize to those who may have felt disappointed or unsatisfied.

Since launch, we have been carefully reviewing every piece of feedback received through the community and various channels, while also conducting an internal analysis of the game’s current issues.
In particular, we recognize the following as key areas for improvement: ▲Lack of creatures with diverse mechanics, ▲Monotony and reduced immersion in story levels, ▲Insufficient stability and optimization.

Our team aims to address these issues not just with short-term fixes, but through a clear, long-term roadmap.
We will continue to listen to the voices of our players to make Backroom Company more fun, richer in content, and higher in quality.

This new stage will be placed before the ending stage, with one set to be released in the second half of the year. The theme or atmosphere may change during development.

    In the new story rework, players will experience greater immersion from the moment they first set foot in the stage, with enhanced presentation and environmental changes.
    Clues about important characters and events will be revealed subtly, allowing players to gradually approach the truth.
    Additionally, rather than relying solely on cutscenes, player choices and interactions will directly influence the story’s progression, ensuring that the narrative and gameplay blend naturally.

Going forward, we aim to deliver gameplay that combines more unique mechanics with strategic decision-making, allowing each creature to have its own personality and be fun to face.

    Key story maps such as “Hotel,” “Pool,” and “Parking Lot” will be expanded while maintaining their original atmosphere and flow, refining the connection between gameplay and mechanics for a more natural experience.
    Rather than complete replacements, these updates will be upgrades that preserve both familiarity and immersion.

    This dungeon will be designed as a high-risk, high-reward structure, offering both significant challenges and valuable rewards.
