Ryse: Son of Rome News

Hey all,

if you already had the chance to play Ryse after it went live earlier today, you might have encountered an issue where the game lost your save, forcing you to restart the campaign when rebooting.

This issue was due to a problem with the syncing of save games between your game and the Steam Cloud.

We have just released a Hotfix to address this issue, so you will once again be able to save both locally and in the Cloud, as intended. It will also help gamers who reported issues with certain Checkpoints after dying.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to retrieve previously lost saves, and affected users will have to start the campaign anew.

We apologize to everyone affected, and hope you will enjoy your journey to save Rome this weekend.

today we want to give you some more information on the free Ryse: Son of Rome Soundtrack that you will receive as a “Thank you” for pre-ordering the PC version. When the game is released on Steam this week, you will be able to download the 1.7gb Soundtrack DLC along with it. Why is that download so large, you may ask? To show our appreciation to anyone pre-ordering the game, we have decided to make the 25 tracks available in 3 different formats:

- As MP3s
- In CD-Quality WAV format
- And for all audiophiles, there will be a hi-res WAV version as well

By default, the game will be downloaded into a “Soundtrack” folder within your Steam installation of Ryse.

With the technicalities out of the way, let’s talk a bit about the SOT itself. A creative collaboration involving over 100 individuals, the multi-award nominated audio echoes the emotional journey of lead character Marius Titus – from the agony of loss to the brutality of battle, and beyond. Scored by award winning composers Borislav Slavov, Tilman Siliescu and Peter Antovski, performed live by the Hungarian Studio Orchestra in Budapest and mastered by acclaimed Tonmeister Carl Talbot, the soundtrack features 25 tracks that will immerse the listener in the tempestuous world of ancient Rome.
