F1® 25 - Community Feedback Update

[p]Hey racers,
[/p][p]We hope you're enjoying your time with F1® 25 following the game’s launch at the end of May. Since then, we've seen so many of you jump into your favourite single-player modes, race online, and spend time crafting some truly impressive liveries with the new Decal Editor. We're loving what we're seeing so far, and it looks like you are too.
[/p][p]All the while, the team has been hard at work squashing bugs and investigating issues you've taken the time to report. In case you missed it, the first patch (v1.03) dropped on June 9 and we have our next patch (v1.04) lined up for June 23. The full patch notes will be shared on June 20 at 3pm UTC.
[/p][p]And we're not stopping there. Between patches, you can track some of the bugs and issues being worked on in the Community-Raised Issues thread with several updates every week.
[/p][p]One area the team has focused a lot of attention on for F1® 25 is the single-player racing experience. It’s been great to see videos of the intense battles you’ve been having with the AI across each of the 24 circuits in the game and clearly the work the team put in is paying off.
[/p][p]With over 100 difficulty options and each AI competitor equipped with unique driving characteristics that require split-second calculations, any adjustments to how these drivers race needs extensive testing. That said, the team is digesting all of the comments and feedback you have about your experience racing alongside computer-controlled opponents to see if and what can be done to make this even better, whilst ensuring any updates enhance the experience for the entire F1® 25 community. This may take some time but we’ll be sure to update you along the way.
[/p][p]Right now though, one thing the team have made adjustments to based on your feedback is how AI drivers perform on race starts, as they were at times a little slow getting off the line. That change will be made alongside the upcoming v1.04 patch, so make sure your reaction times are sharpened!
[/p][p]If you have any feedback you’d like to share on single-player racing behaviours, or anything else for that matter, videos with added context go a long way. As always, the best place for these is on the EA Forums, as this ensures the feedback shared will make its way back to the team.
[/p][p]Thanks so much for your continued support and feedback on F1® 25 so far. Be sure to keep it coming and stay tuned to our social channels and the Community-Raised Issues thread for all the latest updates.
[/p][p]Happy racing!

F1® 25 - VR and Triple Screen Setup Tips

[p]F1® 25 supports Virtual Reality (VR) and Triple Screens on PC in various ways. We understand that these areas of the game can be a little tricky to set up, so we’ve put some useful information together in this post. [/p][p][/p]
Virtual Reality (VR)
[p]Virtual Reality is a great way to experience F1® 25. Whilst the hardware required to run the game is on the higher end, it’s a truly immersive experience. Please read below for some additional information on VR capabilities with the game.[/p][p][/p]
VR Headset Support
[p]VR is supported on F1® 25 using Steam VR and OpenVR. The following headsets have been tested by the development team:[/p]
• [p]Meta Quest 3 + Link[/p]
• [p]Meta Quest 2 + Link[/p]
• [p]Oculus Rift S[/p]
• [p]HTC Vive Cosmos[/p]
• [p]HTC Vive Pro[/p]
• [p]Valve Index[/p]
• [p]HP Reverb G2[/p]
[p]The following headsets have been confirmed to work well with F1® 25 on PC but have not been validated with the development team. Other headsets not listed may also be compatible:[/p]
• [p]PlayStation VR 2 (via PC link)[/p]
• [p]HTC Vive Pro 2[/p]
[p]The following VR headsets are NOT expected to work with F1® 25: [/p]
• [p]PlayStation VR[/p]
• [p]Apple Vision Pro[/p]
[p][/p]
PC Hardware Specifications for VR
[p]For a great experience running the game in your headset’s native resolution these are the following PC specifications we recommend:[/p]
• [p]OS: Windows 10 64-bit Version 21H1 or newer[/p]
• [p]Processor (AMD): AMD Ryzen 5 2600X[/p]
• [p]Processor (Intel): Intel Core i5-9600k[/p]
• [p]Memory: 16 GB RAM[/p]
• [p]Graphics Card (AMD): RX 7900 XT[/p]
• [p]Graphics Card (Nvidia): NVIDIA RTX 5080 / 3080 Ti[/p]
• [p]VRAM: 8 GB[/p]
[p]If you match the specifications mentioned above, you can expect performance around 90 FPS at the resolution of 2K/Eye when running the game in the “High” detail preset.[/p][p]As stated in the Recommended System Requirements for F1® 25, NVIDIA RTX 2070 and AMD RX 6700XT graphics cards (and anything in between) will still be suitable alternatives for headsets displaying lower resolutions. Performance will differ depending on your choice of headset and your exact hardware configuration. [/p][p][/p]
VR Settings in F1® 25
[p]In addition to the Graphics Settings available to you when playing in VR, the following options can be adjusted:[/p]
• [p]OSD Distance - Set the distance for the OSD[/p]
• [p]OSD Fixed Mode - Enabling this option allows the OSD to follow the HUD camera[/p]
• [p]Override SteamVR Scaling Values - Enable to override SteamVR’s per-application scaling[/p]
• [p]Scale Factor - Change the resolution (Reducing will increase performance)[/p]
• [p]Bloom & Crepuscular Rays - Enable to perceive sunbeams and the glow around lightbulbs[/p]
• [p]Motion Blur - Enable for the visual representation of a greater sense of movement[/p]
• [p]Lens Optimisation - Adjust to your headset’s unique characteristics [/p]
[p][/p]
General F1® 25 VR Setup Tips
[p]The following are a number of tips provided by the F1® 25 development team to make the most out of your experience using VR. [/p]
• [p]When setting up a headset for the first time, we suggest setting OpenXR to default. Here are some ways to do this with a number of common headset brands:[/p]
• [p]For Oculus/Meta: Settings > General > OpenXR Runtime > Set metaquest VR as Active[/p]
• [p]Valve Index: Click on the 3 lines of the SteamVR window > Settings > OpenXR > Click on the Make Steam VR default[/p]
• [p]HTC: Look for OpenXR settings in the HTC Vive app[/p]
• [p]We suggest installing Steam VR on your PC and launching this before opening F1® 25 in VR mode.[/p]
• [p]Whilst you may be able to use a VR headset wirelessly for F1® 25, our recommendation is to directly connect the headset to your PC to avoid latency/performance issues between the game and your headset. [/p]
• [p]It’s important that you are using a high fidelity USB cable (Gen 3.0) for VR to work correctly, plugged into a USB 3.0 or above port on your computer[/p]
• [p]When playing F1® 25 in VR and disconnecting a headset unexpectedly, the game may crash. We recommend closing the game normally before manually disconnecting your headset.[/p]
• [p]If you aren’t hearing audio in your VR headset, you may need to change the default audio device from the Volume Mixer screen on your PC.[/p]
• [p]In some instances, a VR headset may cause F1® 25 to default to the incorrect resolution, causing performance issues. You can select your desired resolution by navigating to Settings > Graphics Settings > Video Mode.[/p]
• [p]If you are experiencing performance issues, please reduce your Graphics Settings accordingly. We recommend using the ‘Detail Presets’ as a good starting point. You can also reduce the resolution the game is being displayed at for VR by navigating to Settings > VR > Scale Factor. Once a change is made to this setting, you will need to back out of the menu to save it.[/p]
• [p]We are aware of occasional jitter/stutter issues when running F1® 25 in VR. This is currently under investigation with the development team. Please keep an eye on the Community-Raised Issues thread for updates. To aid our investigations, we encourage you to share your feedback and hardware setup information over on EA Forums. Be sure to troubleshoot cable, operating system, and headset setup tools in the first instance. [/p]
[p][/p][p][/p][p][/p]
Triple Screens
[p]Playing F1® 25 across three screens can give you a great field of view from the cockpit. Wraparound is the only available support for F1® 25 when running multiple monitors. This means adjusting the reported monitor size outside of F1® 25 by using 3rd party or GPU driver software. This, when done correctly, will allow the game to detect all of your screens as a single display. [/p][p]As such, there are no triple screen-specific settings options in F1® 25, however you can use a broad range of resolutions, UI organisation changes, and camera customisations in the game’s settings to adapt to your screen set up.[/p][p][/p]
NVIDIA Surround Setup
[p]Here is a short guide for setting up F1® 25 to work with NVIDIA Surround before loading up the game. We recommend using three monitors (preferably the same model) and ensuring the NVIDIA Control Panel is installed.[/p]
• [p]Once all monitors are connected to your PC, open NVIDIA Control Panel and select ‘Configure Surround > PhysX[/p]
• [p]Check the ‘Span displays with Surround’ option and then select ‘Configure’[/p]
• [p]In the new window, ensure each monitor is in its correct order[/p]
• [p]Finally, click on Enable Surround and then Apply[/p]
[p][/p]
AMD Eyefinity Setup
[p]Here is a short guide for setting up F1® 25 to work with AMD Eyefinity before loading up the game. We recommend using three monitors (preferably the same model) and ensuring the AMD Adrenaline application is installed.[/p]
• [p]Once all monitors are connected, open the AMD Adrenaline application[/p]
• [p]In the top-right corner, click Settings and then click on Display[/p]
• [p]From the bottom of the screen click on Quick Setup and follow the instructions[/p]
[p][/p]
Other Setup Steps (incl. without NVIDIA Surround or AMD Eyefinity)
[p]Should you wish to set up triple screens to work without using NVIDIA Surround or AMD Eyefinity, there may be other options available to you. Please see this video from EA Creator Network member Punjew who uses a program called Resize Raccoon instead. Please note, following these instructions should be done so entirely at your own discretion.[/p][p][/p]
General F1® 25 Triple Screens Setup Tips
[p]The following are a list of tips provided by the F1® 25 development team to make the most out of your experience using triple screens. [/p]
• [p]All monitors must be plugged into your dedicated graphics card to function correctly, not into the motherboard. This may mean using a combination of HDMI and Display Port cables.[/p]
• [p]Be sure your monitors are placed in the correct order in Windows by right-clicking on your desktop, selecting Display Settings, and pressing the identify button. This will allow you to swap the order of your monitors as you see fit.[/p]
• [p]Once you have your monitors set up correctly, be sure to go to Settings > Graphics Settings > Video Mode in F1® 25 to match the resolution of the monitor span that you have customised with your third party software.[/p]
• [p]For the most immersive experience, adjust your camera view to your preference. You can do this by pausing the game and then heading to Settings > Camera Customisation.[/p]
• [p]Please note, UI, menus, and cutscenes will display in 16:9. Triple screens will be in use once you are on-track.[/p]
• [p]We are aware of the 10320x1440 resolution not working correctly, as well as an issue that can cause the game to crash when enabling DLSS whilst using triple screens. This is currently under investigation with the development team. If you experience this problem, please disable DLSS for the time being. Please keep an eye on the Community-Raised Issues thread for updates.[/p]
[p][/p]
Additional Feedback on VR and Triple Screens
[p]If you’d like to share additional feedback or raise bugs/issues relating to our VR and Triple Screens implementations, please do so over on the EA Forums.[/p][p]We have a dedicated Technical Issues & Bug Reports page on the EA Forums, where a member of our team will get back to you. You can find the best bug reporting process by clicking here.[/p]
