July 31 Summer Update Preview - Dessert Tiles, Custom Tile Material Set

Hey everyone!

We’re planning to release an update next week, introducing several new features outlined in our original Roadmap. These include the new Dessert Tiles, the Custom Tile Material Set feature, and gamepad support, which means now you can lean back and enjoy the game.

We’ve preserved many commonly used operations for gamepad users, and added additional convenience features tailored for gamepad play. However, gamepad support took slightly more time than expected to debug.

The new content is now fully developed and undergoing final QA. We aim to release the update early next week. Thank you for your patience and understanding. Please stay tuned for the exact update time and detailed patch notes in our upcoming announcements. This dev blog offers an early preview of the summer update.
New Tile Material: Dessert Tiles
This new tile material was inspired by earlier food-themed artifacts like Xiaolongbao, Tanghulu, and Bubble Tea, the kind of designs that make you hungry while playing😋.

Dessert Tiles include five common materials: Chocolate, Mille-feuille, Sugar Cube, Lollipop, and Cheese; and two epic materials: Popsicle and Jelly. Compared to other tile materials, Dessert Tiles offer significantly higher scoring multipliers.

However, with higher rewards come more risks. Dessert Tiles introduce a special Freshness mechanic: each tile has a Freshness value that decreases at the end of each round if the tile remains in the Played Hand. When Freshness reaches 0, the tile loses its material. After all, desserts melting in summer is only natural😄.

Each tile material in the game has distinct characteristics, but our players have never been limited to just one strategy. With this update, we’re introducing the Custom Tile Material Set feature, allowing you to freely assemble a set from all unlocked materials— any 5 common materials and 2 epic materials, across different sets.

We’re looking forward to seeing your creative combinations after the update. Don’t forget to share your favorite builds with the community.

Additionally, we’ve also fixed several issues affecting gameplay.
