Update v0.9.585 — The One Where Everyone Understands the Briefing

[p]Hey Commanders,

Good news! Slowly but surely getting back on track with the updates!
[/p][p]Metal Thunder just went even more multilingual! This update brings full localization support for 15 new languages, so more Commanders around the world can join the fight.[/p][p]🗣️ Newly Added Languages[/p]
 • [p]Italian[/p]
 • [p]Romanian[/p]
 • [p]Swedish[/p]
 • [p]Norwegian[/p]
 • [p]Finnish[/p]
 • [p]Dutch[/p]
 • [p]Hungarian[/p]
 • [p]Czech[/p]
 • [p]Greek[/p]
 • [p]Ukrainian[/p]
 • [p]Bulgarian[/p]
 • [p]Vietnamese[/p]
 • [p]Indonesian[/p]
 • [p]Thai[/p]
 • [p]Danish[/p]
[p]Every UI element, mission briefing, and upgrade screen is now fully localized. As always, you can report any mistranslations. Keep an eye out! 🌐[/p]

⚙️ Quality of Life & Fixes
• [p]Added the ability to replay missions directly from the win/loss screen.[/p]
 • [p]Added the option to skip mission briefings if you’re eager to jump straight into action.[/p]
 • [p]Fixed a bug where the camera would “jump” when a sortie started.[/p]
 • [p]Fixed an issue where unit indicators occasionally bounced around or stayed visible even when paused.[/p]
 • [p]Improved overall UI polish and readability across menus.[/p]
 • [p]Decrypt text animations should now play smoothly and consistently (hopefully this time for real 🙃).[/p]
 • [p]Pathfinding system optimized for smoother enemy movement and better CPU performance during large-scale engagements.[/p]

Additional Notes
[p]Unity’s latest security patch forced an unexpected rollback on the project, which set things back a little, so the next content patch will take a bit longer than planned. That said, I wanted to get a solid baseline out first, focusing on stability and QoL improvements before diving into the chaos again.[/p][p]The Zombies update is still in motion and slowly taking shape behind the scenes. 🧟‍♂️[/p]

Steam Next Fest
[p]
Also, my side project with my son, DriveWave is joining Steam Next Fest! Come check it out and show some love 🚗💨

[dynamiclink][/dynamiclink][/p]

[p]Thanks again for sticking around and keeping the ground safe!

See you in the skies as always,

The One About the Future of Metal Thunder

[p]Hey Commanders,
[/p][p]First off, I owe you an apology for going silent since May. Life hit me pretty hard with burnout, a divorce, and needing to spend some real time with my kids this summer while I got myself back on track. That old dev meme about “divorced my wife and kids to make this game” kinda came true for me in reverse.
[/p][p]Through all of this, seeing Metal Thunder grow bigger than I ever imagined has been a massive source of strength. The community, the support, the sheer love for the game, it’s kept me going, and I can’t thank you enough for sticking around.
[/p][p]Now to clear the air: Metal Thunder is not abandoned. I’m still here, I’m still working, and I’m not going anywhere. I can’t give you an exact timeline for the next update yet, but I want to make sure it feels right and not rushed. Being a solo dev naturally means things move slower, and right now I’m taking the time to let the creativity flow back naturally instead of forcing it. I’d rather deliver something polished and worth your time than push out a half-baked update.

A small sneak-peek of what is to come:
[/p][p]On a brighter note, over the summer I worked on a small side project with my son to keep sharp. It’s a fun little experiment, completely free-to-play, and will be releasing right after Steam Next Fest. I’ll share more soon in case you want to check it out.

[dynamiclink][/dynamiclink][/p][p]Thanks again for your patience and for being here with me on this journey. You’ve made Metal Thunder so much bigger than I ever dreamed, and I can’t wait to keep building it with you.[/p][p]See you in the skies ❤️
Tolga[/p]

Skies Full, Hearts Full – Thank You, 20,000 Times

Hey Commanders!

Today’s a huge milestone! We’re just about to welcome our 20,000th Commander to the ranks! 🎉

Getting to build the game I used to daydream about as a kid with such an awesome community is something truly special. I'm beyond grateful for the way you’ve embraced Metal Thunder and shared your feedback across Discord, Steam discussions, and even email, it’s been invaluable.

Quick SITREP: I’ve been a bit quiet lately due to moving apartments and then getting knocked out by an illness right after. But I’m back on my feet and fully back at work!

Thanks to all of you, I’ve got a solid list of bugs to blast away with the 45mm and a ton of great QoL suggestions. Luckily, nothing game-breaking as of now, but before I roll out fixes and polish, I’ve jumped headfirst into a major content update. (It may or may not involve zombies. 🧟)

So please bear with me on the minor bugs for a bit longer and here’s a small sneak peek at what’s coming next:

See you in the skies,

Metal Thunder puts you in a the gunner seat of an AC-130 with progression popularised by Vampire Survivors

This is quite a unique experience. Merging the progression system made popular by Vampire Survivors, with the aerial combat of Call of Duty's AC-130 missions. Metal Thunder definitely has a fun idea to it.

Hotfix v0.9.566 - The One About Accuracy

Hey Commanders,

Couldn't sleep knowing accuracy tracking was off — so I patched a few things:

 • Accuracy should now be properly tracked
 • Fixed a "potential" game-breaking bug when selecting the 30mm
 • Added a time indicator to the Card Upgrades screen
