šŸ§€CHEESEART HEAT šŸ§€- Merch Contest šŸ–ŒļøStarts NOW!šŸ†
Hiya Cheesemunchers,
[p]Simon & White G in the house. If you’re like ā€œwho the heck is this guy?ā€ - maybe you’ve bumped into my other games like this game, this game, and now this game, which has very little time left until its release. Pre-release excitement is growing stronger by the day and I recorded a video to share something really melty that I've been cooking up for a while.Ā [/p][p] [/p][p]So here’s the deal: When I look at Adrian Carmack's work on Doom or Kevin Kilstorm's work on Blood, I think that's what game development is all about. Uninhibited world-building and letting your imagination run wild. šŸŒˆšŸ’£ When I started working on my game, I explored different styles and ultimately went with rubber hose, but I still miss that phase of exploring. So, take noteā€¦šŸ‘‚[/p][p][/p]
I'm announcing a CHEESEART CONTEST.
[p]Wanna learn the details but too lazy to read? Got you! Hit play on the video:Ā [/p][p][/p][previewyoutube][/previewyoutube][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]If Bad Cheese sparks anything in your brain, 🧠 don’t overthink it. Just make some cursed art, šŸ‘¹ toss it my way. To HONOR CREATORS LIKE YOU, I made these Painmouse figurines and vinyl stickers for the winners! [/p][p][/p][p]Please send your works to my email address (wassup\[at]lukasik.art) and upload them to the Steam Artwork Page. Deadline’s October 1st, and Gary and I will announce the winners on Halloween. šŸŽƒ [/p][p][/p][p]15 of you cheesy legends will score some merch. šŸ‘‘ Don’t leave me hanging or I’ll be swimming in stickers. šŸ§€[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Big thanks to all the YouTubers already spreading the stink, I mean hype, who made pre-release videos about the game, andĀ  fingers crossed for IGN’s review. Dropping your creation into the world is hype but also kinda nerve-wracking, you know? 😱 [/p][p][/p][p]Anyway, I gotta bounce - still cooking the Release Trailer and smashing bugs. šŸ›šŸŖ²šŸžšŸ¦Ÿ I’ll drop another vid for launch day. šŸ“¼šŸš€[/p][p][/p][p]And hey.. remember... Stay cheeseful[/p][p]Two Mammals 🦶🦓[/p]

Bad Cheese launches on September 1st!
Hiya Beloved Cheese Munchers,

The Release Date for Bad Cheese is OFFICIAL:
[p][/p][p][/p][p][/p]
Bad Cheese passed certification on PC and every console we could throw it at. Yup - it runs, it’s real, and the launch is almost here! šŸ•¹ļø
[p][/p]
Check out the šŸ†• Release Date Trailer! šŸ‘‡
[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube][p]Massive thanks šŸ¤— to the Feardemic guys and everyone who’s been testing, fixing, translating, and tracking down bugs like curious little field mice - sometimes up to 20 of you at once. Thank you to all the tens of thousands of people who added the game to their wishlist. Shout-out to IGN America for helping spread the mold so more players can smell… I mean, hear about Bad Cheese. Crazy to think this whole thing started as a doodle in my pocket sketchbook back in 2015.[/p][p][/p][p]I’ll keep it short - I’m diving back into the last tweaks and patches. Oh, and I’m also cooking up a psychedelic Release Trailer that’ll make sure no steamboat ride will ever feel the same again.[/p][p][/p][p]Wishing you all a safe and cheesy end to Summer. Gary and I are out in the countryside, alternating between the forest and my computer. Please remember the enormous regenerative power that comes from nature and walks!šŸŒ²šŸ•[/p][p][/p][p]Stay cheeseful,
Simon & White G. šŸ§€[/p][p]

Small Start, Big Smell!
Iya! It’s ya boi Simon & White G - Kraków's kings of the game.
[p][/p]
As a game approaches the release, it's a very exciting time. On one hand, I'm happy that we managed to push this project to the finish line, but on the other, I have a lot of concerns 😰 about how it will be received.
[p][/p]
It brings back memories of how it all began...

[p][/p][p][/p][p]Five Days with Daddy (2015) - initial concept from my mini pocket sketchbook [/p][p][/p][p]Around 2015, I started making the first sketches for a survival game in a small notebook. šŸ““ I considered making the project using modeling clay. The uniqueness of this idea was that in this game we weren't supposed to fight monsters coming at night, pull through the war or endure winter, but simply try to survive with our own parent. For many children, growing up in a dysfunctional homes is like navigating a daily mental minefield. I don't want to go into detail about why this story is important to me, but if you're interested, you can learn more from an interview with Brad Norton from Dexerto here. [/p][p][/p][p]In 2022, I briefly entertained the idea of creating the game for Oculus VR in shades of green. Back then, it was titled 7 Days with Daddy. You can see the concept art for this version below, along with a video of the prototype made with Łukasz Gratkowski ā€˜Nixon’ Kot.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Here's what it looked like during the early tests:[/p][p][/p][p][dynamiclink][/dynamiclink][/p][p]I should mention that since 2014, Artur and I have been running a two-person studio named Bulbware. Over the 10 years we worked together, we managed to accomplish many things we are proud of and earned the trust of Felix ā€˜PewDiePie’ Kjellberg who, since the very beginning, offered us his help and friendship. However, at the beginning of 2024, we decided to part ways - so Artur kept the Bulbware and I ventured into the unknown.[/p][p][/p][p]As a newly minted solodev, I began working on my first project, which I wanted to release under my own name. I revisited my earlier ideas, but this time, I was inspired by my beloved game Bendy and the Ink Machine and the short animations of the 1920s. The combination of a sweet, cartoonish style with a traumatic story seen from a child's perspective seemed like a very good mix. The first draft in my sketchbook was this drawing: [/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]In February of 2024, I began intensive work on the prototype with the help of junior coder MegaMarchewa. šŸ„•[/p][p]
At the time, I was reading a book by Wlad Marhulets (author of the game Darq), who spoke highly of his publisher.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]I didn't wait long - on the next day, I sent an email and in March I managed to sign a contract! šŸ¤ Eventually I secured Feardemic as my partner - a dope publisher specializing in horror games.Ā  You can check out the first prototype video that I pitched behind the closed doors to three companies (namely Devolver Digital, Feardemic and one other):[/p][p][/p][p][dynamiclink][/dynamiclink][/p][p]I was incredibly happy that, despite the risk and uncertainty, someone trusted me and believed I could create something worthy of the company which published such hits as Darq, Nightmare Reaper, Garten of Banban and Papetura. It was time to roll up my sleeves and start to work hard! 🄵[/p][p][/p][p]Since then, I've spent many months drawing strange creatures and devices. When someone asked me "What do you do for work?" I proudly replied - "I’m inventing a monster which swims under a steamboat, that's a cross between a mouse and an eel, and also a mechanism for smelling socks… And what do you do for a living?".[/p][p][/p][p]And so we landed TODAY. The future is unclear, like a mirror smeared with moldy Gouda. šŸ§€ To avoid stressing too much about the release, long ago I made a certain assumption, which I wanted to share with you. [/p][p][/p][p]I hope that at least one person will play the game, with whom the story will resonate and prove important enough to give them hope for a better tomorrow, on the other side of the Rotten Cheese. This game is for you - my dear human with a heart full of holes like Swiss cheese. I'm giving you a hug šŸ¤— and handing you a gamepad, Steam Deck, Nintendo, Xbox, DualSense, or whatever apparatus you prefer…[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]If you want to see more behind the scenes cheesy art I prepared an artbook that will be available after the release! šŸŽØ[/p][p][/p][p]Out with the hound, but still in the sound.[/p][p]Much love from Kraków PL brothas and sistas - Simon & the one and only White G.[/p]

Cheesy Games of Keymick
Cheese freaks,Ā it’s your boy Simon and his right paw, White G, straight outta nerdcaves of Krakow...
[p][/p]
Today I wanted to tell you something important about seven-year-old Keymick. He's a real nerd. He spends most of his free time on his beloved Arita 2600 console…
[p][/p][p]I really like the concept of a game within a game, and a long time ago, while making Bulb Boy in 2015, we envisioned that we'd make a Game Bulb console where you could find a cartridge and play Legend of Bulba. Unfortunately, the Kickstarter didn't quite reach its funding goal (but PewDiePie appeared, so not too bad after all).
[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Years later, I managed to revisit the idea and implement it in Bad Cheese (although utilizing different hardware - stationary, not handheld). Initially, I had three different games in mind, but ultimately, only one is playable (who knows - maybe someday there will be a DLC).[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Creepong, Sandsnake and Astrosis are each their own unique thing (that is, so far as the concept goes).[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Keymick's favorite character from the dark action RPG 'Ratlo' is the Cheese Thief. Unfortunately, Mommsy hid the cartridge, so our mouse can only feast his eyes on the big box...[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]CREEPONG is the name of the game featured in Bad Cheese. It's a cheesy mix of 1972's Pong and 2022's Vampire Survivors. In the game, players take on the role of a mouse-pilot, who controls a large ball-bouncing paddle. Their goal is to defeat the evil Baron, and to do so, they must traverse three regions: the Village, the Marshes, and the Cliffs, to finally reach the Castle where the boss reigns. [/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]During the playthrough you gather crystals to get upgrades - with each level you get to choose one of three perks. Each upgrade can be used multiple times - so things can get pretty hectic on screen, making the Arita 1928's console really warm. [/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Another interesting system made in collaboration with Arita is a safe, which hides a special Mouses of Galaxy's secret figurine, included with Collector’s Version game package. The safe connects to the console via a special cable and the lock is released only after defeating the final boss. The reward is a figurine commemorating the collaboration between the toy and the game manufacturers. [/p][p]Unfortunately, Keymick hasn't seen secret figurine reveal video, as in 1928 the internet didn't exist...[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Illustrated manual for Creepong - a rarity in 1928.[/p][p][/p][p]Maybe one of you players will be able to help Keymick get his prized figurine when Bad Cheese is released...
[/p][p]āš ļø PLEASE REMEMBER TO ASK MR. WALLET! āš ļø[/p][p]When you buy Bad Cheese, for the price of one game you get two! BAD CHEESE + CREEPONG![/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]And for those who don't like the hassle of playing arcade games, beating Creepong is optional and has no impact on the rest of the story.
[/p][p]Okay, guys, I'm off to cook for my beast. Gary won't eat Royal Canin or anything like that, so I'm cooking him chicken breast with rice and carrots (every other day).[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Time to bounce and bring the heat… I mean meat. [/p][p]- Simon & White G[/p]

TayToeGun - Cook, Shoot, Fun
Sup fam! Simon and White G reporting from the deck of Steamboat Willy (not to confuse it with Willie).
[p][/p]
Takin’ y’all on a lil’ tour of that boat setup. And yeah - fries šŸŸ are on the menu.
[p][/p]
Last time I told you how to do laundry in Bad Cheese, today I'd like to share with you how to make fries. And if you think you know how to make them, believe me, you're wrong. They definitely don't taste as good as TayToe Fries.

[p][/p][p][/p][p]Tay Toe Incorporated supports sustainability 🄬 and is therefore seeking solutions that will reduce the production of environmentally harmful batteries, which are not only unreliable in low temperatures but also potentially fire-prone. The company's idea is based on the use of natural, food-based energy sources such as potatoes. šŸ„” As we know from physics classes, potatoes have been one of the most readily available energy sources since the time of Columbus. Furthermore, once the charge is depleted, the potato can be consumed as a delicious, low-fat meal. Damn, these fries bussin' like crazy! šŸ˜ŽšŸŸ[/p][p] [/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]All the concept sketches for Frynator 2000 were really rough (hey, after all even Picasso did some napkin drawing of questionable quality)[/p][p][/p][p]The machine park, manufactured by Tay Toe Inc. in collaboration with environmentalists, is known to customers under the well-known name Frynator 2000ā„¢. Take a look at the individual devices in this set, which demonstrate the principle of operation in the form of the voyage of a happy potato:
[/p][p][/p][p]TayToe Gunā„¢ - Let's start with the fact that if we're going to make fries, we first need to bring potatoes. And this is where things get interesting – we're starting with the wonderful TayToeGun. This unassuming, mid-range gun not only allows you to suck potatoes into the storage tank, but also shoots them with great force. A potato counter allows the gun operator to quickly check the number of rounds. This addition was made in one of the latest iterations of this model.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]TayToe Socketsā„¢ - a socket equipped with four copper tips, allowing you to insert a potato and begin the process of transferring power to the electrical grid. The socket is manufactured for various markets in 120 and 230 volts and 60 and 50 Hz frequencies. Four wall plugs are included. Mount out of reach of children. ⚔[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]TayToe Peelerā„¢ - an industrial peeler powered by three potatoes, equipped with a chute with a mechanical information panel. 3 potatoes required for trouble-free use. [/p][p][/p][p]TayToe Slicerā„¢ - industrial guillotine-style slicer. Powered by 4 potatoes. [/p][p][/p][p]TayToe Fryerā„¢ - high-capacity baking cabinet with a three-potato igniter and a dual LPG cylinder. It features a floor-mounted gas valve, ensuring the cook is at a safe distance from the cabinet and won't be burned while preparing the delicacies.šŸ’„šŸ”„ [/p][p][/p][p]TayToe Packerā„¢ - industrial self-packing box with a counter allowing for precise checking and placement of the desired number of fries in the package. [/p][p][/p][p]TayToe Generatorā„¢ - high-performance 8500-watt generator. Requires 8 potatoes but provides exceptionally long operating times. ā±ļø [/p][p][/p][p]šŸ„” REMEMBER TO PURCHASE ALL DEVICES FROM AN AUTHORIZED TAY TOE INCORPORATED DEALER – OTHERWISE, YOU WILL VOID THE WARRANTY. šŸ„”[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]In my game, you'll have the chance to use all the devices and not only try the fries yourself, but also treat your whole family. Nomnomnom! [/p][p][/p][p]Oh! If a dangerous demon like a Puffermouse 🐔 appears during gameplay, remember that the TayToe Gun is not only useful for preparing a nutritious meal, but also as an effective self-defense tool.
[/p][p]I'd write more, but I'm tired of sitting at the computer, and my best ideas come to me during walks. So I’m hoppin’ in the yellow beast, White G on the leash, time to ditch the desk and step out for some fresh air. [/p][p]
Peace out, Simon & White G[/p][p][/p]
