Co-op Kaiju Horror Cooking News

Crashing into view is v.1117 - the Molotovs & Tamed Rats update.

[p]Hello, my monks![/p][p][/p][p]I recall asking you whether you were feeling quite flame-y enough.[/p][p][/p][p]Well, I hope you weren't, because we've introduced more exciting sources of fires in this one. [/p][p][/p][p]On an additional serious note: we also greatly modified the behavior of rats.

Yes, we called upon the professional rat tamers that we have connections with and they taught the rats proper theft etiquette.

We heard folks loud and clear on this one - rats were a bit punishing and we respect the feedback.
[/p][p]Among a host of other taming modifications, rats will now specifically only target items currently held in the player's hand, meaning you should be able to better prepare yourself to respond to their presence accordingly. [/p][p][/p][p]Here are the full patch notes for the Molotovs & Tamed Rats update:[/p]
  • [p]Added four new items: Mimic Food, Cross Grenade, Molotovs and the Invulnerability Cross![/p]
  • [p]Mimic Food behaves like a regular food item but, when picked up, turns into... something else[/p]
  • [p]Improved the behavior of rats. They're not quite model citizens, but they're much better[/p]
  • [p]Removed an old unused tooltip[/p]
  • [p]Lots of tweaks and fixes across many levels![/p][p][/p]
[p][/p][p]You can grab Co-op Kaiju Horror Cooking for $7.99 USD. [dynamiclink][/dynamiclink][/p][p] [/p][p]See you in the monastery,[/p][p]

Hotfix (v.1115)

[p]Good afternoon, monks![/p][p][/p][p]We had some reports that some of you were experiencing an issue with the countdown timer starting. Fortunately, we were able to fix that quickly![/p][p][/p]
  • [p]Fixed an issue where the countdown timer would not start upon starting a game round[/p]
  • [p]Fixed an issue where players could get poisoned when entering the larder ☠️[/p]
[p][/p][p]As always, thank you so much for sending along your feedback and reports.

If you find anything else to report, be sure to let us know![/p][p]

Back to the larder,[/p][p]

Introducing ENDLESS MODE to Co-op Kaiju Horror Cooking!

[p]Hello monks, monks-to-be, monk-adjacents, perhaps kaiju, a passing crow, whoever else you may be:

In this historically accurate stew, we've got ENDLESS MODE.
[/p][p][/p][p]
Now when you host a lobby, you can select "Endless Mode" as an option.

By doing so, you will initiate a game mode where players enter larder levels at random with ONE goal:

Earn as many points as possible.
Also, survive.[/p][p][/p][p]Yet don't get too comfortable in survival, my little monks, as the conditions only get more treacherous the longer you go.[/p][p][/p][p]Here are the full patch notes for version 1114:[/p]
  • [p]We added Endless Mode![/p]
  • [p]Endless Mode can be selected in the Host Lobby menu (it's a special chapter which may load any level from the entire game)[/p]
  • [p]After each level, players are taken back to the Monastery to buy new items from the monks. Their stores are randomized[/p]
  • [p]Also, feeding the Kaiju gets progressively harder after each level. Good luck!![/p]
  • [p]Improved some audio effects[/p]
  • [p]Level tweaks and fixes[/p]
  • [p]Fixed an issue where the HUD would not always turn green upon successfully feeding the Kaiju. [/p]
  • [p]Fixed an issue where the Broom would not work correctly on clients[/p]
  • [p]Fixed frozen enemies in the larder[/p]
[p][/p][p]Co-op Kaiju Horror Cooking is available to play solo, with strange monks from across the internet, or with a group of hand-selected bold friends for $7.99 USD:

Welcome to v. 1111, a.k.a the GET SOME SPACE update. 🧹

[p]Hello hello!

I'm back with another round of fun post-launch updates.

This time, WE'VE GOT TOOLS FOR YA.

Were you not feeling enough wind in your little monk sails last time?

Not feeling quite flame-y enough?

Well, that's very specific of you, but I have great news.

You're gonna get a dang broom. You're gonna get a flaming crossbow. And you know what? You're gonna get.. potentially even more sources of fire in this update. Because we care about you and your health.[/p][p][/p][p]Here are the full patch notes for the Get Some Space update:[/p]
  • [p]Added a Fire Crossbow. Y'know, for setting things on fire[/p]
  • [p]Added a Knockback Broom. Y'know, for knocking things back[/p]
  • [p]Added a Pack of Candles. Y'know, for flashbanging your foes (the team tells me this is what candles are apparently for)[/p]
  • [p]Useful level modifications happened[/p]
  • [p]Fixed an issue where shadows would be cast from the chat bubbles above players' heads[/p]
  • [p]Fixed an issue where oil would make the host slippery but not other players (😳)[/p]
  • [p]Improved Steam Deck support with new default graphics settings and a new default Steam Input map![/p]
  • [p]Added AMD FSR3 as an anti-aliasing option! This can be paired with the render scale setting to greatly improve performance on weaker computers[/p]
  • [p]Added the new tools to all shops[/p]
  • [p]Improved the tutorial messages for players on the Steam Deck[/p]
  • [p]Fixed an issue where spicefalls wouldn't have their intended spice effect[/p]
  • [p]Fixed an issue with apples and oranges. Again, lol[/p]
  • [p]Fall damage now takes the player's velocity into consideration[/p][p][/p][p][/p]
[p]When I grabbed this list from the programmers, I found a scribbled note that just says "use knockback brooms to rocket jump." What on earth did they mean by that??? Hello?[/p][p][/p][p]You can grab Co-op Kaiju Horror Cooking for $7.99 USD! [dynamiclink][/dynamiclink][/p][p]Please sweep responsibly. [/p][p]
See you in the monastery (with even more updates soon),[/p][p]
