Technical Updates
[p]August was CRUNCH time for our dev and art team as we prepped for the new demo launch. We're still working on applying all the new UI updates, portrait art and mechanics to our original prologue so we limited the demo launch to just the new content in Ruiners Pass (Chapter 1). However, we're planning on incorporating the Lendene prologue back into the demo once that work is complete![/p][p]What's coming up this month? [/p]- [p]Demo bug fixing - multiple visual glitches and soft locks[/p]
- [p]Adjusting UI layout[/p]
- [p]Add visual of health bars when selecting an ability during combat[/p]
- [p]Polish Dragon's Gale tech move [/p]
- [p]Work on sound and VFX updates[/p]
Art Corner
[p]One of our in-house artists created a beautiful vista of the capital city of Genua, Vigherad, which we are just in love with! [/p][p]Social Space
[p]With all the exciting updates with the new demo and trailer, we also got spotlighted by several big creators and news outlets, which was a huge deal to the team. IGN showed off our new trailer and it's currently sitting at 55K views!! If you haven't seen the new trailer yet, go check it out on our Youtube channel. [/p][previewyoutube][/previewyoutube][p]Also, we're having a lot of fun in our Discord and social media channels sharing new art, creator videos, and gathering all the great ideas from the community. We held a community stream of the new demo last week and will plan on holding more events like this in the future. Join the Discord today to stay in the know ːsteamhappyː Join our Discord![/p][p]Now for a more serious update, some of you may have noticed that we recently removed some of our 14 day demo countdown social media posts that showed off some of the early character concept art. We want to be transparent and let you know that we discovered that two of our contract concept artists (not our employees or in-house art team) had plagiarized aspects of their work. The issue only affected some of our early character concepts, and we are actively making changes to ensure the originality of our final product. Deseret Games is a small, independent studio that thrives on creativity, and our team was upset to find that our contractors didn't match the artistic integrity we strive for in all aspects of our game. We don't anticipate having this problem again, but we have also put an art review process in place for everything going forward to ensure we aren't taken advantage of by any unscrupulous actors in the future. When new concept art is available, we'll share it with all of you and update our press kit! [/p]What's Coming
[p]This month, we're tackling the big list of fixes and updates for the demo while also working on new concept art, animations, and character designs. Thank you for going on this incredible journey with us so far, and we hope you're looking forward to what's coming next![/p]
