Among Us 3D: What a Launch Week! 🎉 + A Note on Voice Chat & Moderation

Wow. What an incredible few days since Among Us 3D launched on May 6! From the overwhelming support to the hilarious in-game moments you’ve shared, we’re so grateful to have such a passionate, creative, and chaotic crew with us. 💖

So let’s take a minute to celebrate what’s been going on, and also talk about a few things we know you’ve been asking about.

Streams That Made Us Laugh (and Cry Laughing)
#ICYMI, the TriHouse stream had us absolutely rolling. He was joined by Jojosolos, VR Central, and members of the Among Us 3D dev team to kick off launch day with a Steam store page stream. We don’t want to spoil anything, but let’s just say the betrayal was real—and loud.

Fan Art Galore 🎨
We’ve seen some wild and wonderful creations pop up already—including a gorgeous reimagining of the Among Us 3D Bean-lieve launch trailer that completely blew us away. Please keep sharing your art, videos, theories, and cosplay—we’re watching, and we’re loving it.

Live from PAX: Crewmates in the Wild
If you’re at PAX East this weekend, members of the Among Us 3D team are hanging out at Schell Games booth #18109 so you can experience betrayal live from the show floor! We love connecting with fans and seeing the sheer panic that occurs when players round a corner to come face to face with The Infected. Play the game, meet the dev team, and purchase an exclusive Among Us 3D Pinny Arcade pin at our booth. You are the best Crewmates (and Impostors) we could ask for.

🔧 About Voice Chat Moderation, Reports, and Safety

Okay—now let’s talk about something we know has been coming up a lot: voice chat moderation and bans.

First off, yes, we definitely see the feedback. Thank you for sharing your experiences. Moderation in a voice-heavy, social deduction game is complex, and we’re constantly fine-tuning what’s okay, what’s not, and how we respond. But that kind of nuance takes time.

Here’s what we want you to know:

  • We care about your safety. Moderation for any sort of multiplayer game - whether or chat or voice - has long existed. ToxMod, the service we use, is one you may have seen in other games like Rec Room or Call of Duty. It’s important to have something like this to ensure chat isn’t filled with harassment, hate speech, and other toxic behaviour. As far as moderation tools go, this is standard procedure!

  • No, we’re not selling your data (or voice). Period. The way most basic automated moderation tools work is to analyze the chat for toxic behaviour. (Which gets flagged and leads into our next bullet point.) This technology has been around for awhile, and this type of machine learning is not the same as generative AI. If you would like more information, you can view ToxMod’s privacy and data management here, or their full privacy policy here.

  • Context matters, and that's why we have a human moderation team. Although the moderation AI helps our team manage volume, it is not the sole, unchecked decision maker. We know the human touch is important.

  • Private lobbies aren’t exempt from the Code of Conduct. We get it—playing with friends is a different vibe, but we still want to ensure that everyone feels safe and respected in-game. Having private lobbies with no moderation also is a huge security issue, since unchecked online spaces can sometimes become unsafe.

  • We keep things consistent across all games. Our code of conduct has been with us for a long time, and one set of guidelines apply to Among Us, Among Us 3D, and Among Us 3D: VR.

  • This is an iterative process. We’re not perfect yet, but we’re listening and improving every day.

  • We’re trying to balance freedom and safety. Our goal is to let players be themselves without making others feel uncomfortable or unsafe.

  • If something doesn’t seem right or you think we missed the mark, please make a report or appeal a ban on the Among Us 3D player support site. Your feedback genuinely helps us land on the right answer.

🫶 Thanks for Being Here
We’re committed to making Among Us 3D the best experience it can be—for everyone. Whether you’ve been suspicious from day one or just hopped aboard the Skeld II, thank you for being part of this wild, spacefaring journey.

We can’t wait to see what you come up with next.

Stay suspicious, Beans!
