It's hard to believe that Steam Next Fest was several weeks ago! Just think, earlier last month, you didn't even know that Among Us 3D was a thing! Time is crazy. 😵

Anyway, now that it has been a week since our Steam Next Fest Demo officially ended, we thought we'd share a few interesting tidbits of insight 📈 we gathered from your play.


We'll start with the obvious. Surprising no one, the most popular bean during the Demo period was the Red bean wearing the beloved Fedorable hat. You beans are nothing if not a tad predictable. 😅

That said, it's important to note that Gloves, Skins, and premium Hats (meaning the ones you pay for) were not included in the Among Us 3D Demo. 🔒 We'll be shocked if Fedorable ever ranks anywhere that isn't First... But, you haven't seen all of the awesome new cosmetics that are coming to the game yet! 😎 So, it's nothing is impossible!


While the first place popularity style stayed unchanging, we did see a bit of a shake up within the Top Ten overall — both for Hats and Colors!

Several hats moved a rank or two, which has happened previously. However, probably the most notable difference here is the appearance of Heart — which jumped eight ranks from 16th up to 8th! ⬆️ This is the first time Heart has been featured in the Top Ten, likely since the launch of Among Us VR, so this feels pretty huge for cutesy aesthetic beans. 💗 We see you! 🥺

Several other hats saw significant leaps in their popularity as well, albeit not enough to land in the Top Ten. Still, we think rising 13 places — from 31st to 18th — is certainly worthy of a callout for Funky Fusion! 🤟


The future holds even more of these bean-y insights when Among Us 3D launches on — 🤭 just kidding! We're not spilling the beans on a release date just yet. Soon, my beans. Soon.™️

Among Us 3D was one of the most played demos during Steam Next Fest?! Thank you all so much!


To celebrate — and to show our appreciation 🥺 — we're extending the availability period for the demo until March 10, 2025. One final weekend to eject your friends from the airlock until the full game launches later this year.

What is Among Us 3D?
You've asked, we've listened. Among Us 3D is a crossplay experience that brings the first-person aesthetic introduced in Among Us VR to Steam PC players. The game will feature the same intense, fast-paced gameplay, complete with voice chat, new customization options, game modes, roles, and all the deception-filled fun—without the need for a VR headset.

It also is the umbrella name for this way to play Among Us. Over the coming months, Among Us VR will be rebranded to Among Us 3D — joining the Among Us 3D family. If it makes it easier for you, Among Us 3D is all-encompassing but usually refers to the PC (mouse and keyboard/controller) version of the game; meanwhile, Among Us 3D: VR is the version that requires a VR headset to play.

When does Among Us 3D come out for PC players?!
We haven't announced an official release date yet, beans. PATIENCE!

What platforms will Among Us 3D be on?
The PC version of Among Us 3D will launch on Steam later this year.

Among Us 3D: VR — which is currently still called Among Us VR — is already available; it launched on November 10, 2022, on the Meta Horizon store and SteamVR, and on December 5, 2023, for PlayStation VR2 and PICO headsets!

Can I crossplay with the original Among Us?
No. Sorry, beans. It's just not possible. Among Us 3D will not be crossplay-compatible with the original Among Us.

HOWEVER — the game WILL be crossplay with all VR versions of the game (ie. Meta, SteamVR, PlayStation VR2, and PICO players). Prepare to join a large community of Crewmates on Day One!

So... What is happening with Among Us VR?
Over the coming months, Among Us VR will be rebranded to join the Among Us 3D family. The rebrand is mostly aesthetic — a new title, new logo, new start up screen — and is meant to highlight the connectivity and crossplay features with Among Us 3D. After the launch of Among Us 3D for Steam PC, all versions of the game, including the VR versions, will be updated similarly and simultaneously to stay current with each other.

This game is currently available on Meta Quest, Steam VR, PlayStation VR2, and PICO.

If I own Among Us VR, do I have to buy Among Us 3D?
Yes. While crossplay features are available in the games, Among Us 3D and Among Us VR are considered separate games.

If you owned Among Us 3D:VR on or before launch day (May 6), you would have received Among Us 3D (the PC version) for free.

After Among Us 3D officially launches on Steam, we'll be bundling the two versions together, offering current VR players a chance to grab the PC version at a discounted price.

What about my Among Us VR cosmetics? Do I have to rebuy the DLC Packs all over again?
We'll have a lot more to share about updates to DLC, cosmetics, and the Wardrobe very soon. But, the short answer is: "Steam cross-buy compatibility!"

Do you have more information to share regarding Stardust, the newly announced in-game currency?
We plan to provide more information about Stardust with you in the upcoming weeks.

Can I connect my Innersloth Account tied to Among Us with Among Us 3D? Among Us 3D does not integrate with the Innersloth accounts system. This also plays into the fact that Among Us 3D will not be crossplay compatible with the original Among Us. (We'll keep reiterating this fact, promise.)

Why aren't Among Us 3D and Among Us VR the same game?
There are several answers to this question. However, the simplest (ie, least technical jargon — we're trying to save you, beans) explanation is that Among Us 3D's control schemes, UI, and backend systems were built from the ground up. Separating the versions during this development allowed/allows us to continue to bring quality updates to our Among Us VR beans while ensuring the highest quality and tailored experience for our new PC players.

How many players can play? Among Us 3D features lobbies from 4 - 10 players at one time. This is consistent with Among Us VR, but different from the original Among Us game.

How does voice chat work in Among Us 3D?
Proximity chat is integrated into the game natively! Players can also choose to use quick text chat options or the new "Gesture" system to communicate without voice as well.

How many maps will be available in Among Us 3D? Among Us 3D will launch with the Skeld II and Polus Point map from Among Us VR.

How can I play Among Us 3D early? Among Us 3D will be a part of Steam Next Fest! From Monday, February 24, 2025, until Monday, March 3, 2025, players can download the Among Us 3D Demo and get early access to the game for this limited time. This version of the game does not include all features or game modes that will be available at launch, such as crossplay compatibility with Among Us VR or additional cosmetics. The demo is exclusive to players 16 years or older.
