Welcome to Weekly Nubby News #7 and happy pride month!

In this edition of WNN, I'm going to be briefly discussing my current progress and works in progress, and then setting some expectations for the next major update to nubby... V1.4!!!


Update on V1.3.2 (upcoming patch):
==========

In the development of nubby, V1.3.2 is my current focus. This is the last big patch before V1.4 and it will introduce an autosave / load system. This has proven to be a bit of an obstacle because it involves reworking a lot of code to make this system fit. However, I'm looking forward to finishing this addition because it's a big quality of life improvement. It's a bit difficult to give an exact time estimate on when this will be finished, but I'm hoping to have this patch released around June 12th. That is tentative and subject to change because technical difficulties are likely.

Regardless, it will be nice to be able to start up a game of nubby, save your game, then load back into it the next day when you're bored. Cheers to progress!




Update on nubby mobile:
==========

For those curious about the progress of the mobile port for NNF - things are still trucking along and progress is being made. It isn't near completion yet, but I'm feeling confident about our work pacing and I'm very excited to share this with you all. One day you can bring nubby along with you in your pocket! Pocket nubby!




Discussing V1.4:
==========

Now for the exciting news on V1.4!

I've talked a bit about V1.4 in previous editions of WNN, but I was leaving things vague and my time estimates were quite off. This is going to be a big update and add a lot of things. Before I talk about a release date for V1.4, I want to discuss what you can look forward to!

In V1.4 you can expect:
---
-A cosmetics menu with unlockable nubby skins and peg skins, most cosmetic nubby skins were made by the community way back in the demo days! This menu will be accessible through the title screen. The cosmetics menu will be managed by a very fashionable new character, "Lady La Mode"! (See gif below)

-A "warehouse" menu that is akin to a "bestiary" or encyclopedia of sorts. This menu will display info about items/perks/mechanics and talk about the lore of the number factory (items, characters, nubby, etc.), just for fun! The warehouse will be accessible through the title screen and also introduce a new character, "Sparkplug"! (again, see gif below).

-An ultimate challenge mode (haven't come up with a name yet) that can be accessed after beating all challenges. This game mode will have 10 levels of increasing difficulty. New content will be added in each level that makes the game more difficult. Completing this game mode will be a tough challenge and require an understanding of the game's mechanics to succeed.

-Steam achievements will be added. I'm hoping to add around 12-15 achievements.

-1 new supervisor, "Dwarf Tony". (from the winner of supervisor design contest in march(?)).

-Probably a couple new items and perks.

As for a release date on V1.4, I want to have this done sometime in July. I'm not going to give a specific date for this because it's a lot of new content and its hard to give an estimate when I'm working at this scale.

After V1.4 is released, localization efforts will begin and hopefully many languages will be implemented in the following weeks, credits to the wonderful people who have volunteered to make that possible. To those who will be helping with localization, thank you for your patience.

In the weeks leading up to V1.4, I will continue to make WNN posts and share my progress on V1.4.
