NNF v1.4.3 Patch Notes (2/19/2026)

Hello veteran nubheads and newly-assimilated nublings!

Today I break my silence to squeeze out a small patch which fixes some minor bugs and introduces the first localization for NNF - Brazilian Portuguese! If you've got a Brazilian friend, let 'em know that today marks the beginning of Nubby's renaissance in Brazil! I'd like to give a huge thank you to NNF community member and talented translator, Frank Lopes, for the incredible volunteer work on NNF's BRPT localization + NNF's steam page BRPT localization. If you're one of the 5,213 Brazilians who have purchased NNF, I hope this addition elevates your NNF experience!

If you are a translator and would like to volunteer to translate NNF, please contact me via email ([email protected]) or via discord (@mogdogblog). Note that there are already translations in the works for Spanish, Russian, and Norwegian, Polish, and Swedish. Unless I specify otherwise in the coming months, these languages are already covered by community volunteers. If you'd like to provide assistance but you're afraid that the technical side of translating a videogame will be above your technical experience level, let me assure you that it's not as complicated as you think it is. You do not need a background in game development or programming to help translate!

One last thing before the patch notes! If you're here looking for news on nubby mobile, this post sadly contains none.... BUT if you check back again around this time tomorrow (2/20), I'm posting a newsletter here on steam that is primarily going to be about nubby mobile (plus some fun news for nubby mega-fans about something great happening on Nubby's 1-year birthday on March 7, 2026). Obviously, the wait for NNF's mobile port has taken longer than we were all hoping for and I haven't talked publicly about why that is for a few months. As a result, some valid concerns have been raised in the nubby community about the whereabouts of the port. I've been so busy working on NNF's mobile port and developing my next title that I have neglected to publicly share news about the mobile port, so for that I am sorry. To quell any of your nubby-mobile related fears until I post tomorrow's newsletter, I'll leave you with this: It is done, but not quite released yet. We are so close!

Thanks for playing and I hope you appreciate the patch, especially if you're Brazilian!
~Mog

NNF v1.4.3 Patch Notes:
==========

(Note: When you download and launch v1.4.3, there should be no version compatibility issues with the previous version (v1.4.2). In other words, if you were running the latest version on steam, you can load an autosaved in-progress run without running into problems. I cannot speak for versions that came before v1.4.2, so fair warning if that applies to you.)

Additions:
==========

-Implemented the Brazilian Portuguese localization for NNF's in-game text.
Note: To set your expectations for the new BRPT localization and for all future localizations - the vast majority of in-game text you will encounter is translated, but it will not be 100% comprehensive. Everything fundamental to actually playing to game is translated, so ideally a non-english speaker should be able to understand and enjoy the core gameplay just as much as an English speaker would. That being said, there are a few exceptions where text will remain written in English because of technical limitations and linguistic boundaries. These exceptions are:
A) Graphical/artistic text (e.g. the big, red "Nubby's Number Factory" title logo in the middle of the title screen)
B) Text that cannot / should not be translated (e.g. character names, names of people in the game credits, puns)

-Added the localizations GUI from NNF's demo to the title menu for localization selection. There is only English and Brazilian Portuguese available right now, but hopefully that list will be longer in the future. Hit me up if you speak English + another language.

Fixes:
==========

-Fixed bug where squid/mollusk item reappear if they're sold by the burglar peg while they're transformed into another item.

-Fixed a small visual bug that sometimes occurs when entering nubby mart where the freeze button fades into frame faster than the surrounding shop GUI. The freeze button fades in at the same rate 100% of the time now.

-Fixed a typo in the item description of the upgraded "Rubber Chicken+" item. The typo in question was a misspelling of the word "and". ("an" changed to "and")

-Fixed a typo in the speedy perk description where it repeats the word, "slots" twice in a row.

-Fixed a typo in the description of the cosmetic nubby skin, "Flutty Nubby". There was a missing "to" in the phrase "Now we have [to] leave the costume on him (...)".

-Minor adjustment to the on-screen position of the achievements-disabled-warning-text for when a custom seed is configured on the gamemode menu
-Slightly adjusted vertical position of the text mainly. Purpose of change was to give localized text more wiggle room.

Other changes:
==========

-Updated the visual appearance of the "Cyborg Nubby" cosmetic nubby skin. The community member who was responsible for designing this skin created it over a year ago and was no longer happy with how it looked, so they revamped it. In my opinion, I think the new skin is an improvement and better represents what Nubby would look like as a cyborg. If you've unlocked this cosmetic and use it regularly, I hope you enjoy the makeover!

-Relocated the wiki/discord buttons on the title screen from the bottom right corner of the screen to the top left corner to make room for the localizations GUI.
