🪆 Important Announcement About Welcome to Doll Town ðŸŽ
Hello everyone,
After reflecting on the incredible feedback we’ve received from the demo, I’ve decided to make a significant change in the direction of Welcome to Doll Town. While the original plan was to release the game in an episodic format, the demo revealed something crucial:
• The Silent Hill-style controls and mechanics don’t resonate as strongly with younger audiences.
• Objectives and storytelling need to be smoother to create the immersive experience I envisioned.
This is exactly what the demo was for—your feedback has been invaluable, and I can’t thank you enough for taking the time to play and share your thoughts.
I know Welcome to Doll Town is highly anticipated, but I refuse to release something half-broken just to meet a deadline. This is more than a game; it’s a deep, sad story that deserves the right medium to be told.
As a solo developer, this project demands everything I have, and I want to do it justice. That’s why I’ve decided to:
Pull the demo from Steam while I reorganize the game’s development.
Reconsider the episodic format and instead focus on delivering a complete, polished experience.
Set a new release date: Halloween 2025—a time that feels more fitting for the full game’s atmosphere and story.
This wasn’t an easy decision, but I truly believe it’s the right one for the game and for you, the players. Thank you for your understanding, patience, and continued support. Welcome to Doll Town is a passion project, and I promise it will be worth the wait.
With gratitude,
Ari Machina
