1.0 Release Date Announcement

[p]Hello, chefs!
[/p][p]Check out our silly release date announcement teaser: [dynamiclink][/dynamiclink]After 7 months of Early Access, we're thrilled to announce that Omelet You Cook will launch into 1.0 on February 8th! That's less than 2 weeks away already![/p][p][/p][p]So, what's planned for 1.0? The biggest addition is a few new starter pantries including a final confrontation with Principal Clucker that concludes the story of Omelet You Cook.[/p][p][/p][p]As a sneak peek, I'll reveal one image we've shared on our Discord. Any guesses who this could be?[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]We're also excited to announce that the game will be translated into Simplified Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Thai, and Traditional Chinese on launch! [/p][p]We've been working with our community on some other languages as well, which will be added after 1.0.[/p][p][/p][p]We've been having a ton of fun cooking on this game with our community and that will continue beyond 1.0. We still have a lot of plans including a draftable starter pantry, replaying any weekly starter pantry, and of course even more ingredients, helpers, and customers.[/p][p][/p][p]Lastly, we need to give you a heads up that the leaderboards will be reset once we launch into 1.0! The game has changed so much (and particularly the restrictions of each apron), that some scores are no longer achievable, at least not so easily. Cherish your scores while they last. We look forward to seeing you chefs fight it out on the new leaderboards soon![/p][p][/p][p]And if you've won on Red Apron and want a fancy Early Access supporter role, you've got until February 8th to jump in and get it![/p][p]Get the Discord role[/p][p][/p][p]As always, we want to give a shoutout to all the chefs who played, left positive reviews, and gave us feedback throughout Early Access. We're so proud of this game and we truly couldn't have made it without the support of this community. We're super excited to give Omelet You Cook both a proper conclusion and a proper 1.0 launch.[/p][p][/p][p]That's all for today. Check back on February 8th to experience the full story of Omelet You Cook!

Happy cooking chefs,
- Schu and Hjalte[/p][p][/p][p][dynamiclink][/dynamiclink][/p]

• [p]Fixed bug where embezzler gave money when taking free legendary reward[/p]
• [p]Fixed bug where baby carrots, stix, and honey drizzle could spawn with incorrect scale with non-default omelet size[/p]

Seafood Update

[p]Hello chefs![/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Hope you're having a nice start to 2026! Today we're fleshing out a tag that has long needed some love.[/p][p]We've added 12 new Seafood ingredients, 4 of which are Wiggly in strange new ways![/p][p][/p][p]These are some of the silliest ingredients we've added yet and we're excited to see how you use them![/p][p][/p][p]Our composer, Gustaf Blix, added a few new musical tracks for our customers! If you hadn't noticed, each customer trait has a specific instrument they add to the music, and we're closer to each one being unique. You can now hover over customers in the catalogue to hear them![/p][p][/p][p]Principal Clucker now has a bit more variety in what he says after each run.[/p][p][/p][p]We've made some very significant balancing changes and overhauls to the following systems:[/p]
• [p]Apron Difficulties[/p]
• [p]Ingredient Unlocks[/p]
• [p]Ingredient Rarities[/p]
• [p]Tutorial and New Player Experience[/p]
[p]Plus tons of bug fixes and balancing adjustments. For full details check out the Patch Notes below.[/p][p][/p][p]Lastly, Principal Clucker has decreed this will be the final content update of Early Access. But fear not, we have a lot more planned for Omelet You Cook! In the near future we'll announce our 1.0 release date![/p][p]The forthcoming 1.0 update will focus on the introduction of Black Apron, as well as how you'll earn it - by finally confronting Principal Clucker himself.[/p][p][/p][p]Hjalte and I have been working incredibly hard throughout Early Access and especially now to make Omelet You Cook the best version of itself. I know there's still some bug fixes, quality of life, and major features that you chefs want and we intend to give you. 1.0 will not be the end of Omelet You Cook's development. We love working on it and we're very excited to give it a proper 1.0 release and to provide some closure to Principal Clucker's story.[/p][p][/p][p]Thank you to all the chefs who've played, gave feedback, reported bugs, and left positive reviews. If you have any feedback at all (especially on the balancing of the updated aprons), now is the best time to let us know either on Steam or in our Discord![/p][p][/p][p]As always we'll take everything into consideration. Bigger features like a random/draft pantry and being able to play previous Weekly runs will come sometime post-1.0.[/p][p][/p][p]We should also mention that anyone with the Red Apron Certified role in our Discord will be converted to a role signifying their support during Early Access, so if you haven't claimed yours yet go get certified:[/p][p]Get the role on Discord[/p][p][/p][p]Thanks for cooking with us, chefs. Enjoy the Seafood![/p][p]-Chef Schu[/p][p][/p]
v0.9.33 Patch Notes

Content
• [p]Blue now no longer provides free trashing (tho you can still pay $1 and get $1)[/p]
• [p]Red now only gives you a max of 1 Dispense from each shop[/p]
• [p]These changes are an attempt to make the difficulties a bit more distinct and make the game more difficult aside from just making numbers bigger.[/p]
• [p]The 1 Dispense limit is something we may reserve for Black Apron instead, but we wanted to test it before Black Apron. So please let us know how you feel about it![/p]
• [p]Overhauled ingredient unlock system[/p]
• [p]82 out of 140 ingredients begin locked[/p]
• [p]The main purpose of this overhaul was to ensure new chefs don't get presented with overly complex ingredients[/p]
• [p]As such, you may need to unlock ingredients you previously could use[/p]
• [p]Overhauled ingredient rarities[/p]
• [p]I won't go over every change but generally we wanted a more balanced distribution:[/p]
• [p]Common: 30 (previously 19)[/p]
• [p]Uncommon: 48 (previously 47)[/p]
• [p]Rare: 42 (previously 49)[/p]
• [p]Legendary: 23 (previously 25)[/p]
• [p]Wiggly ingredients can now become Haunted as well[/p]
• [p]Sticky ingredients now prevent Wiggly ingredients from triggering[/p]
• [p]Tweaked tutorial structure[/p]
• [p]Added Wiggly tutorial + changed Wiggly Catalogue tip[/p]
[p]Helper Buffs[/p]
• [p]Secret Seasoning: 30% chance to Moldy (instead of 40%)[/p]
[p]Ingredient Reworks[/p]
• [p]Pepper Jack: added Spicy tag[/p]
• [p]Fishbone: changed Processed to Raw tag[/p]
• [p]Cauliflower: changed to +4 pts per Meat touching, -6 pts per Veggie touching[/p]
• [p]Chicken Leg: changed to +1 pts per Meat on omelet, -1 pts per Veggie on omelet[/p]
• [p]also 2 per crate (instead of 1)[/p]
• [p]Corn: changed to +2 pts per Raw pointed at[/p]
• [p]Chocolate Cake: changed to +2 pts per Sweet pointed at[/p]
• [p]Pumpkin Pie: changed to +2 pts per Baked pointed at[/p]
• [p]Corn Dog: changed to +3 pts per Root/Veggie pointed at (instead of Root/Meat)[/p]
[p]Ingredient Buffs[/p]
• [p]Steak: added +2 pts to each Root touching[/p]
• [p]Glazed Ham: added +2 pts to each Fruit touching[/p]
• [p]Both of the above changes should make these large Meats better in more situations[/p]
• [p]Turkey: +4 pts per Root touching (instead of +3)[/p]
• [p]Grape: +6 pts (instead of +5)[/p]
• [p]Stix: +5 pts (instead of +4)[/p]
• [p]Sausage: +3 pts per Veggie touching (instead of +2)[/p]
• [p]Cheese Wheel: +0.3x to touching ingredients (instead of +0.2x)[/p]
[p]Ingredient Nerfs[/p]
• [p]Parmesan: +0.2x to each ingredient pointed at (instead of +0.3x)[/p]
• [p]This has been an auto-pick ingredient so we wanted to reduce the power level slightly[/p]
• [p]Carrot: changed to +$0.25 per distinct ingredient pointed at[/p]
• [p]Green Onion: changed to +$0.25 per distinct ingredient touching this[/p]
• [p]These Roots have vastly outclassed others and are universally good. Again, we wanted to nerf them a tad to increase the comparative value of others[/p]
• [p]Garlic: changed to +$0.25 per 2 distinct ingredients on omelet (instead of per 1)[/p]
• [p]With the changes to Carrot/Green Onion, old Garlic would've been better in all situations so it also needed to be adjusted[/p]
[p]In general we wanted to make it a little harder to earn tons of money each round. All of these nerfs impact ingredients that are good in every build to hopefully encourage chefs to take ingredients with more specific requirements so builds end up feeling more diverse.[/p]
Bug Fixes
• [p]Hopefully fixed bug where shop wouldn't reset sometimes[/p]
• [p]Please send your Player.log and screenshot if it happens, I've been unable to reproduce this[/p]

• [p]Fixed bug where Customer Catalogue could have translated strings when it shouldn't[/p]
• [p]Fixed bug where scroll wheel didn't work in Catalogue[/p]
• [p]Fixed bug where sometimes Aprons didn't unlock when they should[/p]
• [p]Fixed bug where ingredients could escape from trash conveyor belt through clever exploitation[/p]
• [p]Shoutout to the chef in our Discord who pointed this out yesterday[/p]
• [p]Fixed bug where Wiggly ingredients could keep wiggling on saved omelets[/p]

Yuletide Update

[p]Happy Holidays, chefs![/p][p][/p][p]We've got another exciting content update just in time for the holidays. For this update we wanted to expand on the Wrapped tag with new customers, helpers, and ingredients that play with it.[/p][p][/p][p]First we've got 8 new ingredients, some Christmas-y and some Wrapped-y.[/p][p][/p][p]Next we have 3 new helpers that should enable some unique new playstyles.[/p][p][/p][p]Furthermore we've added 4 new customers with the new Gift Wrapped trait. These customers can apply Wrapped to ANY ingredient, just in time for Middlesville Secret Santa![/p][p][/p][p]And once again Principal Clucker has demanded 7 new achievements![/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Aside from content we've also reworked the Legendary Helper selection to be a bit more dramatic![/p][p][/p][p]We've also cleaned up some of the issues you discovered from the mid-run saves. The game now saves after every choice you make in the shop, so no more reloading to make different choices with new info. [/p][p][/p][p]Plus check out the new and improved title screen:[/p][p][/p][p]Omelet You Cook is currently on sale for 20% off as part of the Steam Winter Sale. Afterwards to reflect the amount of content and work we've put into it, we'll be raising the price to $15 USD. This will be the final price as we get closer to a product we feel is ready for a 1.0 release (date TBD). This will be the cheapest you can get the game for awhile so tell your friends it's a great time to start cooking![/p][p][/p][p]Wanna know what it's been like developing Omelet You Cook? Hjalte and I joined a great podcast where we shared some of our silly stories from development:[dynamiclink][/dynamiclink][/p][p]Happy holidays, chef![/p][p]-Chef Schu[/p][p][/p]
v0.9.27 Patch Notes

Content
Note: The game is still English-only for now. In the near future once we've had some first pass translations in other languages we'll open up a beta branch to switch languages.[/p]

Customer Update

[p]Hello chefs![/p][p][/p][p]This week's update is all about the CUSTOMERS! We've added 14 new customer portraits: 3 brand new customers and 11 existing customers got a makeover, so every customer now has a unique portrait.[/p][p][/p][p]4 of these customers were voted for in the latest Discord poll. Which one are you most excited to see?[/p][p][/p][p]A couple of these customers have the new Bully trait which means they snatch a dollar from you every time you take an ingredient with a specific tag.[/p][p][/p][p]Additionally, the customers will line up and hold their plates during Principal Clucker's omelet inspection.[/p][p][/p][p]But this update isn't just about the customers in the game, it's also about the customers of the game! We've added 2 of the most highly requested features: mid-run saves and an info tab in the catalogue.[/p][p][/p][p]Your current run is now saved at the start of each round and the start of each shop. So when you've got a long endless run and it's time for bed you can feel free to exit and continue some other time![/p][p][/p][p]Thank you to the chefs in our Discord who helped playtest the beta branch! It's likely we might've missed some bugs or exploits so if you notice anything weird please let us know via the in-game form, the Steam forums, or on Discord.[/p][p][/p][p]We've added a 4th tab in the Catalogue that shows tips for each of the major mechanics in the game. This should be a helpful reference if you can't quite remember the initial popups or want a slightly more in depth explanation. Let us know if you'd like to see anything else added here![/p][p][/p][p]We've also added 3 new achievements.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Lastly we've made quite a few quality of life changes and balance adjustments you can check out below.[/p][p][/p][p]Happy cooking, chefs![/p][p]-Chef Schu[/p][p][/p]
v0.9.25 Patch Notes

Content
• [p]New Bully customer trait[/p]
• [p]3 new customers[/p]
• [p]11 updated customer portraits[/p]
• [p]Mid Run Save Data[/p]
• [p]Catalogue now has an Info tab with descriptions of major features[/p]
• [p]Let us know if you think of anything we missed![/p]
• [p]3 new achievements[/p]
Quality of Life
• [p]Pantry ingredients/helpers are hoverable during scoring so you can review how they score[/p]
• [p]Scoring tooltips are nested at bottom of screen[/p]
• [p]Now you can take screenshots that show both the total score and 1 hovered ingredient[/p]
• [p]Adding pulsing color when you have a locked apron selected (so you know why it's locked)[/p]
• [p]Game is playable on controller (not recommended but works similarly to Steam Deck)[/p]
Balance
• [p]Haunted Trait: each ghosts takes 4 seconds longer than the previous ghost to spawn[/p]
• [p]This should help make things more manageable in endless runs[/p]
• [p]Ascetic Trait: won't appear on first round[/p]
• [p]Vegetarian and Carnivore Traits: won't appear in first 2 rounds[/p]
• [p]All customers are available in any given run [/p]
• [p]previously there were 4 customers that only appeared as boss Teachers on Green Apron[/p]
• [p]Ribs are now Sticky[/p]
• [p]BBQ makes Meat ingredients Sticky[/p]
• [p]Honey Glazer makes Vegetable ingredients Sticky (instead of Meats)[/p]

• [p]Chewy Champion[/p]
• [p]Added "+0.2x to each Chewy per Soft touching"[/p]
• [p]Helper Hater[/p]
• [p]Added "Decrease by -2pts each time you reroll"[/p]
• [p]This helper was insanely overpowered with some chefs reaching +80 to every ingredient if they earned enough money. We try to avoid nerfing but something had to be done. This is my attempt at allowing it to scale without letting chefs endlessly hire + fire in a single shop[/p]
Art
• [p]Customers now hold their omelets during omelet inspection[/p]
• [p]Occupation of Managers is shown[/p]
• [p]Occupations are shown in catalogue[/p]

• [p]Fixed bug where discarded ingredients still counted as "on side"[/p]
