Lunar New Year Update

[p]Hello chefs![/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Thank you so much for helping make our 1.0 launch a huge success! Hjalte and I are incredibly grateful to all the chefs who've played the game, left reviews, and gave us feedback on what you love and what you want to see improved.[/p][p][/p][p]We're thrilled to announce that in the week since the 1.0 launch, we've sold over 37,000 copies of Omelet You Cook! In the 7 months of Early Access we were thrilled to reach 14,000 copies sold, so this has really blown away our highest expectations![/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Originally we planned to take a small break after fixing high priority bugs but seeing all the positive feedback coming in from new chefs who are genuinely enjoying our little game motivated us to squeeze in one small update as a way to show our appreciation![/p][p][/p][p]The majority of new chefs are playing in a language other than English so we asked our translators to suggest some of their favorite ingredients for us to include in this update. We'll keep adding new ingredients over time, so please let us know what you'd like to see included in future updates![/p][p][/p][p]Introducing 4 new ingredients with some unique new mechanics:[/p][p][/p][p]4 new helpers that add ingredient tags or have a random chance of giving Mult:[/p][p][/p][p]and 2 new customers![/p][p][/p][p]There's also a fun new weekly pantry featuring some of the new content![/p][p][/p][p]We've also been hard at work fixing bugs and tweaking the experience based on your feedback. So please, keep letting us know what you love, what frustrates you, and what you want to see more of![/p][p][/p][p]We can't say thank you enough to all the chefs who've given this game a chance. Your support means we can keep doing what we love, and right now we really love working on Omelet You Cook![/p][p][/p][p]Happy cooking,[/p][p]-Chef Schu[/p][p][/p]
v1.0.3 Patch Notes

Content
• [p]4 new ingredients[/p]
• [p]4 new helpers[/p]
• [p]2 new customers[/p]
Balance
• [p]Wrapped ingredients now burn twice as fast[/p]
• [p]Jackfruit gives +4pts per distinct touching (instead of +2)[/p]
• [p]hopefully this is a bit more befitting of a Legendary now[/p]
• [p]Sticky pantry starts with 12 grapes (instead of 8)[/p]
• [p]With this pantry, one thing I want to test is whether it's interesting to start with a lot of an ingredient that's good once and then becomes dead weight[/p]
• [p]In general the 3 newest pantries are relatively untested and may be changed further. Please let us know what you think of them![/p]
• [p]Nerfed Maggi (Minimalist + Shrinker + Decisive instead of Minimalist + Hungry + Decisive)[/p]
• [p]Minimalist will no longer appear in the first 8 rounds (instead of 2)[/p]
• [p]We've been hearing that Minimalist feels too punishing. We're hoping that nerfing Maggi (the biggest culprit) and guaranteeing they don't appear until late in runs helps negate how punishing they feel. We'll continue to listen and see if we need further adjustments[/p]
• [p]Carnivore and Vegetarian will no longer appear in the first 5 rounds (instead of 2)[/p]
• [p]Union Delegate and Loan Shark can no longer appear from taking random helper[/p]
• [p]Going forward, unfireable helpers will be excluded from random selections with the exception of Severance Package because it's dope[/p]
• [p]Wannabe DJ will no longer appear in Round 16+ for performance purposes[/p]
• [p]Raw Seaweed is Uncommon (instead of Common)[/p]
• [p]it just feels more Uncommony, right?[/p]
• [p]Chefs can no longer attempt the Weekly if they haven't unlocked the appropriate Apron[/p]
• [p]However, you still don't need to have all the ingredients of the Weekly unlocked[/p]
Quality of Life
• [p]Added 4k screen resolution support[/p]
• [p]Sped up scene transition visual[/p]
• [p]We've been getting some reports that the transition has been straining on the eye. Hopefully simply speeding it up improves it, but please let us know if you're still experiencing this.[/p]
Bug Fixes
• [p]Fixed huge lag spike during omelet selection[/p]
• [p]To fix this, we had to remove the text showing the number of chefs on the leaderboard. Later we'll see if we can find a way to reintroduce this but the only easy way to get the number is to basically load all 10,000+ entries which caused the lag spike.[/p]
• [p]Sorry, we didn't expect to have so many chefs in the first week![/p]
• [p]Fixed bug where tooltips were cut off on Steam Deck[/p]
• [p]Adjusted tooltips to always fit 9 on screen[/p]
• [p]soon we'll overhaul this to support greater than 9 (and improve the visuals a bit)[/p]
• [p]Fixed bug where chefs could steal multiple ingredients by dragging an ingredient to push 2 other ingredients on the conveyor together and then quickly push them both off the conveyor[/p]
• [p]To resolve this, ingredients on the conveyor no longer have collision[/p]
• [p]Fixed the "Chef" achievements for completing a pantry with all aprons (except Black)[/p]
• [p]You'll need to win any run to trigger your missing achievements[/p]
• [p]Fixed Mystery Meat unlock achievement[/p]
• [p]Fixed bug where Final Exam achievement didn't always trigger[/p]
• [p]Fixed bug where Known to All achievement didn't trigger if you hadn't served all the \[REDACTED][/p]
• [p]Fixed bug where Click-Drop input method was reset on non-English languages on reload[/p]
• [p]Fixed bug where clicking while pause/feedback menu is open advanced tutorial[/p]
• [p]Fixed bug where losing in endless after reloading wouldn't unlock next pantry[/p]
• [p]Fixed bug where dragging an ingredient that unwraps into new ingredient (Stix, Baby Carrots) would leave the cursor stuck in the "grabbed" state[/p]
• [p]Fixed Weekly Run text appearing Spongebobified[/p]
• [p]Fixed incorrect tooltip appearing on Trash Skip button[/p]
• [p]Fixed rendering order issue in final pantry[/p]
• [p]Fixed typos[/p]

v1.0.2 Patch Notes

[p]Hey chefs!
[/p][p]Balance Changes[/p]
• [p]Replaced Brie with Goat Cheese in Scoochie Special[/p]
• [p]We were noticing chefs weren't unlocking starter pantries as quickly as we'd like. This change means you only need to score a bit with the common Cucumber to unlock this pantry[/p]
• [p]Brie gives 0.5x to Fruit instead of 0.4x[/p]
• [p]Since Fruit is more specialty than the Texture/Preparation tags, it makes sense to be a lil better[/p]
[p]Bug Fixes[/p]
• [p]Improved wide screen support with wider backgrounds, catalogue, and Principal Clucker[/p]
• [p]Fixed various Lobster Claw bugs[/p]
• [p]reduced grab duration to 3 seconds (instead of 13???? How'd I let that slip through lol)[/p]
• [p]while grabbed, you can't click to reset the grab timer[/p]
• [p]while grabbed, tooltip won't frequently appear/disappear[/p]
• [p]added additional anticipation frame to make it more clear it'll grab ya[/p]
• [p]can't grab you during scoring[/p]
• [p]won't give you achievement for getting grabbed unless you actually get got[/p]
• [p]Fixed bug where you couldn't play Final Pantry after last patch[/p]
• [p]Fixed bug where one of the last omelets after beating the story was poorly positioned[/p]
• [p]Fixed Mayor Dog's hands[/p]
• [p]Probably fixed bug where Steam would never quit the game[/p]

v1.0.1 Patch Notes

[p]Hey chefs![/p][p]Small day 1 patch here to fix a couple obvious issues. There's still some other issues we're working through and will probably have another patch or 2 over the coming days. In particular I'm aware the Wrapped pantry (specifically Corn and probably other pointers) is buggy.[/p]
• [p]Fixed bug where chefs could play Black Apron before beating the final pantry[/p]
• [p]This was an accident, sorry for those of you who "unlocked" Black Apron who will no longer have access. The intent is that you earn the right to play the highest difficulty after beating the story. Feel free to use the "Unlock All" feature if you really want to jump ahead[/p]
• [p]Fixed bug where game would soft lock after runs when losing on Round 13/14 of the Clucker Pantry[/p]
• [p]Fixed some achievements that weren't hooked up properly[/p]
• [p]Added 1 last missing achievement to bring us to 99[/p]
• [p]Added text to omelet selection screen to make it more clear how the final pantry/apron is unlocked[/p]
• [p]Fixed tAkE RaNdOm oThEr text[/p]
• [p]But at least Hjalte made this sick meme from it:[/p]
[p][/p][p][/p][p]We're relieved there weren't any critical issues on day 1! Thanks to everyone for reporting the issues you do find.

Hope you're enjoying 1.0 as much as we are![/p][p][/p][p]Happy cooking,[/p][p]Chef Schu[/p]

Omelet You Cook 1.0 Out Now!

[p]Hello chefs! [/p][p]Omelet You Cook 1.0 is available now!!! After 21 content updates over 7 months, we're so excited for you chefs to see what we've cooked for the full release![/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]1.0 introduces 4 new starter pantries including the final pantry where you will finally confront Principal Clucker himself. It also introduces the highest difficulty: Black Apron, which you can unlock by finishing the story.[/p][p][/p][p]Aside from story content, we've been giving some love to some screens that we felt were a bit too static.[/p][p]
All crates have custom backgrounds, and the ingredients now have particles corresponding to their rarity.[/p][p][/p][p]Everyone's favorite trash dog is even more excited to help eat your unwanted trash![/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]There's also 5 new helpers and a whopping 36 new achievements, including a bunch for unlocking ingredients at the end of long unlock branches. If you already have everything unlocked, you'll get a bunch of achievements after your first run.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]If you've been cooking with us for a long time or you previously used the "Unlock All" feature, we'd highly recommend resetting your save data before you start your first run. This way you can have a fresh experience (and you're always welcome to use the reworked Unlock All feature that's non-destructive and allows you to still earn progress towards achievements).[/p][p][/p][p]We can't emphasize enough how incredible Early Access was for us. We wanted to look back and share some stats that we're incredibly proud of:[/p]
• [p]672 reviews, 99% positive[/p]
• [p]507 positive reviews over 111 days before our first negative review![/p]
• [p]15,000+ copies sold[/p]
• [p]42,000+ outstanding wishlists (we only had 2,500 before launch!)[/p]
• [p]1,346 Discord members and counting[/p]
[p]
Hjalte and I worked incredibly hard throughout Early Access because we love working on Omelet You Cook and seeing you chefs have fun engaging with it. We averaged 3 content updates per month! Over 21 content updates here's some of what we added:[/p]
• [p]Turn Based Mode (originally only Green Apron had a static conveyor)[/p]
• [p]Endless Mode[/p]
• [p]Mid-Run Saving[/p]
• [p]Weekly Runs[/p]
• [p]Wrapped, Gold, Moldy, Flaming, Sticky and Wiggly mechanics[/p]
• [p]The Catalogue[/p]
• [p]92 new ingredients[/p]
• [p]46 new helpers[/p]
• [p]40 new customers[/p]
• [p]8 new starter pantries (plus 25 weekly pantries and counting)[/p]
• [p]80 new achievements[/p]
• [p]Steam Deck Verification[/p]
• [p]Localization into Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and Thai[/p]
• [p]tons of quality of life, visual and audio improvements, and bug fixes[/p]
[p][/p][p]We've done a lot, and we're far from finished! There's a few more features we know for certain we want to add like a draftable/random starter pantry, the ability to replay any weekly starter pantry, and of course more ingredients/helpers/customers. We're also working with our community to localize the game into more languages![/p][p][/p][p]I'm sure we'll also discover some unresolved bugs and things we can continue to improve. Please join us on Discord and let us know what you want to see us work on next![/p][p][/p][p]We're also excited to announce our next game: BIG DIG! It's based on a game jam entry we made back in August, and it'll be a nice lil side project for us while we continue working on Omelet You Cook. If you enjoy the charming characters and vibe of Omelet You Cook or you wanna support us, please Wishlist![/p][p]
[dynamiclink][/dynamiclink][/p][p]Thank you to every chef who's supported us throughout with positive reviews, constructive feedback, lively balancing discussions, idea brainstorming, and more. We feel incredibly grateful for the community we've built around Omelet You Cook. We're excited for 1.0 to help us reach even more chefs and to keep building on what has made this game special.[/p][p][/p][p]Thanks for cooking with us chefs. Let us know what you think of 1.0 over on Discord![/p][p][/p][p]Happy cooking,
-Schu and Hjalte[/p][p][/p]
v1.0 Patch Notes

Content
• [p]3 new starter pantries[/p]
• [p]a 4th new Final Story starter pantry containing the true ending[/p]
• [p]Black Apron[/p]
• [p]5 new helpers (including 3 Mythic)[/p]
• [p]36 new achievements[/p]
Balance
• [p]All leaderboards have been reset - have fun building the new ones![/p]
• [p]When trashing, 5 ingredients are dispensed by default instead of 3[/p]
• [p]On Red/Black Apron, spending $1 just to get 3 items you want to keep felt incredibly frustrating. Now you should more reliably be able to trash something you actually want to trash and lose money for nothing less often.[/p]
• [p]The ingredient number in the pantry no longer goes down when trashing[/p]
• [p]This might be confusing at first for experienced chefs but it makes it more clear at a glance[/p]
• [p]Unlock All is now a non-destructive toggle. Meaning you can turn it on and off as you please, and you'll still earn progress towards truly unlocking ingredients and earning achievements.[/p]
• [p]We highly recommend not using this option so you gradually unlock more complex content, but we want to offer it for people who want to experience everything in a shorter timespan[/p]
• [p]Aprons reworked again[/p]
• [p]Blue has "Max 1 Dispense" instead of "no free trashing", and is 12 Rounds instead of 9[/p]
• [p]We found through playtesting that the no free trashing felt tougher so we saved it for Red Apron[/p]
• [p]Red has Max 8 Helpers instead of Max 12[/p]
• [p]This was done to further distinguish the aprons and provide a difficulty where making decisions on which Helper to keep feels more agonizing[/p]
• [p]All of these changes (and the introduction of Black Apron) are an effort to make each apron playstyle distinct. Some players felt it frustrating that Red Apron had become so restrictive but with these changes the Blue Apron should now feel much closer to that experience. These changes are mostly aimed at experienced chefs who want challenging runs while still preserving more chill experiences at lower level aprons.[/p]
• [p]Stats earned in Endless now count towards Catalogue stats and unlock progress[/p]
• [p]Some chefs were confused that they could score 100 pts with a Pineapple they got in Endless and the catalogue still said they had 0. This was explained in-game but not clearly enough so I decided to just make it work how players expect[/p]
• [p]Moldy won't appear for first 3 rounds[/p]
• [p]Moldy customers give 35% chance of Moldy (instead of 40%)[/p]
• [p]Matches start burning/igniting other ingredients after a short delay after landing/being grabbed[/p]
• [p]Added tutorial step explaining how ingredients score + other minor tutorial tweaks[/p]
• [p]Helper Hater gives -1pts per reroll (instead of -2pts)[/p]
Art
• [p]New Sunny animations[/p]
• [p]New trash screen[/p]
• [p]Each crate now has distinct backgrounds during ingredient selection[/p]
• [p]New particles for crate, helper, and ingredient selection[/p]
• [p]New Sticky particles[/p]
• [p]Updated some old pre-Hjalte helpers[/p]
• [p]Updated Processed tag icon[/p]
• [p]Added alternate Principal Clucker quotes for losing in endless[/p]
• [p]Added visual effect for firing helpers[/p]
• [p]Added animation for Severance Package[/p]
• [p]Lobster Claw follows cursor less rigidly when grabbing it[/p]
• [p]New credits screen[/p]
SFX
• [p]New music tracks, each customer trait now has a unique track![/p]
• [p]New SFX for fools gold[/p]
• [p]New SFX for selecting legendary helpers[/p]
• [p]Different SFX for losing money, getting bullied[/p]
• [p]Better thunderstorm ambience[/p]
• [p]Added some missing button SFX, new SFX for changing menu tabs[/p]
Localization
• [p]Added support for Simplified Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Thai, and Traditional Chinese[/p]
• [p]We'll be working with our community on new languages soon. Join the Discord to get involved![/p]
Bug Fixes
• [p]Fixed bug where your save data could get deleted[/p]
• [p]Fixed bug where game could softlock during transition to shop[/p]
• [p]Fixed bug where chefs could steal ingredients from the trash screen[/p]
• [p]Fixed Mysterious Flash Drive so it does what it says[/p]
• [p]Fixed bug where everyone earned Weekly Run achievement for completing any run[/p]
• [p]Fixed bug where Wrapped ingredients wouldn't go transparent off omelet[/p]
• [p]Fixed bug where losing on the last round could count as a victory for various achievements[/p]
• [p]Fixed bug where FPS would drop when new music started playing[/p]
• [p]Abandoned runs are now submitted to the leaderboard[/p]
• [p]Maybe fixed bug where transition screens lagged[/p]
• [p]Fixed lag in omelet selection screen by resetting leaderboards[/p]
• [p]We'll have an actual fix for this later since it will be a problem again in the future[/p]
[p][/p][p]Heads up we will be temporarily disabling the demo while we focus on the 1.0 build. We'll put it back up in about a week when we have time to get it updated with all the 1.0 changes and fixes.[/p]

0.99 Update

[p]Hello chefs![/p][p][/p][p]Less than a week until Omelet You Cook leaves Early Access! We couldn't be more excited to share what we've been working on. We got kind of addicted to doing all these updates, so we wanted to drop one more before the big 1.0 on February 8th.[/p][p][/p][p]Okay but don't get too excited, all the new content and the ending will come later. The main purpose of this update is to make the game available in the following languages:[/p]
• [p]Simplified Chinese[/p]
• [p]Traditional Chinese[/p]
• [p]Japanese[/p]
• [p]Korean[/p]
• [p]Thai[/p]
[p]We've been working hard to get the game working with these 5 languages and with the help of our wonderful community we're working on more languages that will come sometime after 1.0![/p][p][/p][p]Aside from multiple language support, observant chefs might notice some more changes to the apron balancing, lots of little quality of life changes, and critical bug fixes. We'll save all the patch notes for 1.0 so feel free to poke around and discover for yourself.[/p][p][/p][p]We'll be going live with Omelet You Cook 1.0 on February 8th at 10am PST / 1pm EST / 6pm UTC. If you want to help make our launch as successful as possible, please consider doing any of the following:[/p]
• [p]Leave a review[/p]
• [p]Tell your favorite content creators about the game[/p]
• [p]Play the game on February 8th, maybe we can hit our all time peak![/p]
• [p]Let us know if you find any new bugs[/p]
[p][/p][p]Thank you for all your support. We love this game and we hope you chefs are as excited for 1.0 as we are :)[/p][p][/p][p]Happy cooking,
-Schu and Hjalte[/p]
