Cheesy Update

We've rebalanced existing cheeses and added 6 new ones to help ensure every omelet can be enhanced to its fullest extent. The Moldy Mushroom Update

[p]Welcome to the Moldy Mushroom Update, chefs![/p][p][/p][p]Any great school cafeteria comes with a small chance of ingesting mold, so Principal Clucker has decided to unleash it upon Middlesville Cafeteria. Not only will Mold take away 3pts from infected ingredients, there's a 50/50 chance it'll spread whenever it touches an untarnished ingredient! Be careful, Mold can be found from many sources: customers, ingredients, and even some helpers![/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]To counteract this problem we've introduced 6 new mushrooms who tend to prefer keeping their distance.[/p][p][/p][p]Principal Clucker has recruited 4 new customers, all of which have a chance of turning ingredients moldy![/p][p][/p][p]Lastly, there's a brand new Moldy Mushroom starter pantry alongside 3 relevant new helpers!

This should be a huge accessibility improvement for users who find it difficult to constantly hold down a mouse and for laptop trackpad input.[/p]

The Pointy Update

First off, we've introduced a new way to score points — with ingredients that point![/p][p][/p][p]You'll find this new mechanic used across 5 pointy new ingredients.[/p][p][/p][p]Plus 3 new customers who will point at part of the omelet that they'd prefer you leave empty!
[/p][p]And now for my personal favorite part of the update: 6 new helpers! Most of these play with the FIRING mechanic we introduced in the Artisan Update.     • [p]We did this to improve gameplay balance. There were only 4 Steamed ingredients, and the associated helpers were some of the least taken. Most are now Baked, which had the 2nd fewest ingredients amongst the "baking method" tags. It will be easier for us to properly balance across the 3 tags now.[/p]
    • [p]Removed Steampipe helper (+0.4x to Steamed ingredients)[/p]
    • [p]Heated Historian now buffs Baked per Raw on omelet (instead of Steamed per Baked)[/p]

Early Access Roadmap

[p]Hello chefs![/p][p]Omelet You Cook has been available in early access for just over 2 months and in that time we've had 1 major update, 5 pseudo-weekly content updates, and 17 other minor patches. Today, let's talk about what you can expect for the future of Omelet You Cook.[/p][p][/p][p]As you can see from Hjalte's lovely graphic, we've got a clear plan for the next major update which will introduce the highly requested Endless mode. Before then we'll have 4 pseudo-weekly content updates. I say pseudo because we don't have a fixed schedule for when they'll release and some may end up being closer to 2 weeks if I can't clutch up.[/p][p][/p][p]After Endless mode, the plan is a little less clear. We know that our 1.0 release will include the Black Apron and a final confrontation with Principal Clucker that will hopefully bring some closure to the students of Middlesville Cafeteria.[/p][p][/p][p]Between Endless and 1.0, we know we'll have at least 4 more content updates but likely many more! We'll leave this section of the roadmap (as well as the timing) flexible so we can continue to listen to you chefs and address highly requested features and content. If there's anything you really want to see before 1.0, let us know in the comments or over on our Discord![/p][p][/p][p]As previously announced, the price of Omelet You Cook will increase slightly in a few days to reflect all the additional content and hard work we've put into the game. Speaking of numbers, we've now sold over 7,000 copies! Plus we have over 20,000 wishlists! Considering we had just 2,000 before launch, it's safe to say your reviews and recommendations to your friends (and NorthernLion) have helped catapult us to success!

We're so excited to keep cooking and making this the weirdest, goofiest, most chaotic roguelike on the market. The Artisan Update

[p]Hello chefs! We're happy to introduce the first major update for Omelet You Cook!
[/p][p]I'll start by tempering expectations by saying that we couldn't get quite as much content in as we planned, but we'll be returning to pseudo-weekly content updates to keep the kitchen stocked throughout the summer! (we've been busy moving to a new city, game jamming, and fixing the dozens of bugs you've helped us find)[/p][p][/p][p]The big change in this update is a reworked Apron system with full support for playing the game completely at your leisure with no time pressure. This update is for all you artisans out there who want to take your time and create a true masterpiece.[/p][p][/p][p]This means in addition to your Apron you'll select your Hat to determine whether you play turn-based or in real-time. The real-time mode is the intended experience but we know the time pressure really stresses out or makes the game inaccessible to some chefs, so we wanted to find a solution that lets everyone enjoy cooking.[/p][p] [/p][p]As part of this change, we've introduced a limit on the number of Helpers you can have on higher difficulties. I think this will lead to some interesting decision making for top tier chefs (instead of just buying every Helper they see.) We intend to iterate on this Apron system further, and potentially add more Aprons once we see what's working and what needs work. Your feedback is greatly appreciated![/p][p][/p][p]We've finally given a fresh coat of paint to 2 of our screens. The first is the Omelet Selection screen, which looks way better and now shows little trophies for each starter pantry that you've won with the currently selected Hat/Apron. [/p][p]The other screen is my personal favorite change of the update: The Catalogue. Not only does it look incredible but we've gone through and added stats to each of the Ingredients/Helpers/Customers and different visuals if you haven't unlocked or encountered them yet. It's also sorted by rarity so you can have a better idea of how likely you are to encounter everything.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]We've also added 5 new ingredients and 14 new achievements for you to play with, and in the coming weeks we'll be adding even more Ingredients and Helpers to keep the game consistently fresh.[/p][p][/p][p]The last thing I want to mention is that the game is currently on sale for 20% off!     • [p]This was insanely broken. I don't know how I didn't realize but some chefs were generating $90+ on a single round with it[/p]
