DevLog 7: Meet the Cast: The Zomboyz

The Zomboyz are a chaotic band of zombified psychobilly punks. Addicted to adrenaline, carnage, and rock’n’roll, they have a joint mission of both stopping Lucky and seeing how far they can send their limbs flying in a radical explosion.

The Zomboyz originate from an epic concert in the desert, set up by a famous Psychobilly band. Trying their best to make a memorable rager, the band turned to ancient demonic texts and rituals for inspiration for the show. Unknowingly, the texts and symbols possessed real magic and they accidentally turned the entire wrecking pit into unwitting sacrifices to the devil. Instantly dead, and instantly rebirthed as the undead, many of the crowd, caught up in how metal it all was, willingly threw themselves into the sacrificial circle to be “wrecked” as they later would call it. The hard-core circumstances of their creation made them eternal servants to the devil and to the creation of ungodly and bombastic (with emphasis on the bomb) chaos.

To this day, the most hardcore adrenaline seekers return to the site of that concert to be wrecked and join the legions of carnage loving zombie freaks.

DevLog 6: Meet the Cast: The Skeleton Crew

In the 1950’s, the military experimented with nuclear weapons in the desert. In one tragic incident, experimenting with a new novel form of radiation, something went horribly wrong. Many died. The bases were closed down, and the entire situation was covered up. That was not the last of those sickly souls, however, and through the unknown properties of the strange radiation, their irradiated corpses rose once again. Their flesh melted off, revealing walking skeletons, glowing from the radiation that they themselves now emit.

Now these former soldiers and military scientists continue their former goals of advancing their scientific and technological knowledge to create powerful weapons. Working out of their long-abandoned bases and working with whatever old tech they can scrounge up and repair, they develop and employ deceptively high-tech weapons and vehicles which they use to defend their territory. They are no longer bound by the rules of a government, nor to mortal morality. They have become The Skeleton Crew.

DevLog 5: Meet the Cast: The Fratwolves

Hey hey, Andy here again.

Happy Friday!

Today we are going to learn about the first gang you encounter in Scaravan 66: The Fratwolves.

Loud, aggressive, athletic, and dumber than a bag of jock-straps. The Fratwolves are a gang of college football players who intentionally became infected with lycanthropy to get that extra edge on the field. The original werewolf bite was provided in a deal with the devil, which came with the hefty cost of eternal servitude, but can you really put a price on the best football season of your college career? Everything would be going perfectly, or rather it would be, if they could just get practice in or stop missing their games. Unfortunately, one little annoying Road Reaper keeps driving off of her section of Route 66 and into the territory the Fratwolves are tasked with policing.

No time to party, no time to practice, no time for brewskis with the broskis. Being the closest gang territory to the Junkyard where the local reapers hang, and not so coincidentally where Lucky D keeps starting her carnage, the Fratwolves are most frequently called upon and therefore bothered by Lucky D. Tired, frustrated, but still pumped with team-spirit and that lycan rage running through their veins, the Fratwolves remain steadfast on stopping Lucky dead in her tracks.

That's all for today!

DevLog 4: Meet the Cast: Molly Morgue

Hey there! Andy again. Coming at you a day late because frankly I forgot what day of the week it was.

Today we are learning a little about Molly Morgue!

Mysterious and vibrant, Molly doesn’t have any regrets from life. Death-obsessed and with a dark sense of humour, Molly has never felt more at home than in the after-life. Once a doghouse bass player with dreams of being in a Psychobilly band, in life she aspired to raise the roof and steal the show with her wicked bass playing, however Molly discovered that in death her instrument had the ability to raise and command the dead instead.

Frankly, as she found out, that's all she ever wanted in the first place. A captive audience who does as she bids. As a new necromancer and a lifetime control freak she enjoys the power she wields, which is not insignificant given the job that was thrust on her as a Road Reaper. Maybe the only reaper who isn’t confused or upset about how they wound up here, Molly knows not to look a gift-horse in the mouth and enjoys her new unlife as much as she can.

That's all for today! Check back on Friday to find out if I remember what day of the week it is or up from down.
