MEET the "Revenant"!

[p]Hello, fellows![/p][p]Today we return to sail the seas in the company of a sturdy lady inspired by the Navy's past, the battleship "Revenant"![/p][p][/p][p]As you can see from the comparison with the toy soldier next to her, she's certainly no giant of the sea, so why did I identify her as a battleship?[/p][p]Barring future changes, the Revenant will be the first unlockable battleship in the game. Obviously, I can't make the Bismarck my first battleship; I needed something smaller and older. Having found nothing real that suited my needs, I resorted partly to fantasy.[/p][p][/p]
What is the Revenant?
[p]So, let's get to the point. The Revenant is the first heavily armored ship in the game. It can withstand a lot of damage before having to be abandoned.[/p][p]It has two large guns, probably 203 mm, for hitting distant targets.[/p][p]On top is a small gun, probably 75 mm, ideal for faster, closer targets.[/p][p]As you can see, the Revenant is completely devoid of air defenses, mainly because, when it was conceived, air threats didn't exist.[/p][p]If in the future I notice that this ship suffers too much from air units, I might consider adding a light machine gun, perhaps coaxial with the smaller cannon. What do you think?[/p][p][/p]
IMPORTANT question today:
[p]Last time I asked about the realism of the insects in the game, and, to my delight, 95% of the comments were in favor of introducing unrealistic but fun attacks, exactly as I wanted to do.[/p][p]I'll let you know that I don't intend to stray too far from reality; I'll tend to use a level of unrealism slightly beyond that of the Grounded game.[/p][p]Today's question is: What about the dinosaurs?[/p][p]Initially, I was inclined to limit them to their realistic dynamics, but my confidence wavered when you responded so strongly in favor of fun over realism.[/p][p]Therefore, do you prefer the dinosaurs to be more realistic or not?[/p][p]And if you chose the unrealistic, how would you use your imagination to make them more fun?[/p][p][/p][p]Do these questions please you or do they annoy you?[/p][p]The more players interact with these questions of mine, the more the game will be tailored to you like a suit![/p][p][/p]
THE ONLY GOOD BUG IS A DEAD BUG!
[p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p]

MEET the MRAS-142 "Sky Lance"!

[p]Hello, soldiers![/p][p]Today, we're talking about artillery, specifically the MRAS-142 "Sky Lance" (Missile and Rocket Artillery System)![/p][p][/p][p]What is MRAS-142?[/p][p]The Sky Lance is a truck specifically modified to carry and launch various self-propelled ordnance.[/p][p]If you're picturing something similar to a "Katyusha," you're on the wrong track, because the MRAS-142 has limited, but very high-quality, ready-to-use ammunition.[/p][p]This vehicle can launch powerful rockets, but its forte is its missiles, which allow it to hit targets with extreme precision, compared to other artillery pieces.[/p][p]The Sky Lance's missiles can carry various types of warheads: from simple HE to cluster bombs, not to mention incendiary warheads, nerve gas, and perhaps even white phosphorus.[/p][p]Being faced with this weapon and still alive means the operator didn't have the order to hit you.[/p][p]Considering it's an artillery piece, its mobility is also remarkable, which is very useful for hit-and-run, as it's best not to rely on the vehicle's armor for survival.[/p][p][/p][p]Do you enjoy striking from afar, with precision and devastating power? The MRAS-142 "Sky Lance" is the one for you![/p][p]If, on the other hand, your passion is filling the sky with rockets and wreaking havoc across large portions of the map... stay tuned, you'll have plenty to get your teeth into![/p][p][/p][p]IMPORTANT question of the day:[/p][p]Speaking of insects, would you prefer their attacks to be exclusively realistic (which might get a little boring after a while) or to be partially unrealistic, but more fun?[/p][p]I'm thinking of the game Grounded, where the insects have flashy, unrealistic attacks, but they're fun—especially if they were playable in first-person like this game.[/p][p][/p]
THE ONLY GOOD BUG IS A DEAD BUG!
[p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p]

Dead man flying!

[p]Hello, brothers![/p][p][/p][p]No MEET today.[/p][p]While I was testing the missile lock systems, I thought to myself, "Maybe my guys would like a nice gameplay screen!"[/p][p][/p][p]So I set about locking onto an enemy F14 with my F14's Sidewinders and taking a screenshot just when the lock was perfect... it wasn't easy :D[/p][p][/p][p]Then I thought I'd take this screenshot to show you some of the new UI, even though a lot is still missing and nothing is definitive.[/p][p]Sorry for the photo quality, but when going from a resolution of 4k to 800x450 pixels, this stuff happens.[/p][p][/p][p]Meanwhile, when you're in a vehicle, you can see its outline and your current position on it (not entirely accurate here).[/p][p]The dotted line represents the vehicle's health.[/p][p]At the top, you can see how much ammo is in the magazine and how many magazines you have left, as well as whether your flares are ready or not.[/p][p]To the right of the health bar, you can see the types of weapons your station allows you to use.[/p][p]The icons under the ammunition outline give you a quick idea of what type of munition it is; for example, the missile I locked onto the enemy with is designed to lock onto flying units, has a lock system tied to the center of the crosshair, and uses a high-explosive warhead.[/p][p]Like in Battlefield, positions are changed with F1, F2, etc., while weapons are changed with 1, 2, etc.[/p][p][/p][p]I'm working on various types of warheads:[/p][p]1) High-explosive[/p][p]2) Penetrating[/p][p]3) Incendiary[/p][p]4) Nerve Gas[/p][p]5) White Phosphorus[/p][p]6) Grapeshot[/p][p]7) Smoke[/p][p]8) EMP[/p][p]9 Gravity (perhaps used by futuristic weapons)[/p][p][/p][p]Which one would you like to use?[/p][p]If you have any other ideas, I'd love to hear them![/p][p][/p][p]Back to the screenshot.[/p][p]My opponent was making evasive maneuvers to get behind me and fire, but by slowing down and making sharp turns, I managed to hold my ground.[/p][p]After several seconds, I managed to get the target in the center of my sights. It began flashing and emitting the typical lock-on sound.[/p][p]As soon as the sound became steady and the sights turned red, I didn't hesitate to fire![/p][p]The enemy plane was hit, but not downed![/p][p]It took another missile and a few 20mm rounds to see it fall into the depths of the sea.[/p][p]No parachute.[/p][p][/p][p]Do you have any questions about the dynamics involved in this scenario?[/p][p][/p][p]I included the second image to give you an idea of what plane I'm talking about and what missiles it uses.[/p][p]I included the third image again because it's cool and a tribute to the best movie ever![/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p]

MEET the "Sturmspeer"!

[p]Hello, Soldiers![/p][p]So far, I've only shown you planes, but no vehicles capable of shooting them down.[/p][p]Today, I intend to put an end to this, which is why today's MEET focuses on the first anti-aircraft vehicle, the "Sturmspeer"![/p][p][/p][p]Many of you will surely be familiar with the original vehicle that inspired me to create this model, so much so that I decided to keep the new name in the vehicle's native language.[/p][p][/p][p]The Sturmspeer is a four-barreled anti-aircraft vehicle.[/p][p]Despite its predisposition for shooting down enemy aircraft, it can also be used against lightly armored ground units.[/p][p]The original vehicle had four 20 mm caliber barrels, but for balance reasons, I'm unsure whether to lower that caliber to 12.7 mm, to make the power of the anti-aircraft guns unlocked after it more believable.[/p][p]What do you think?[/p][p]For now, the Sturmspeer has only one crew member.[/p][p]I'm aiming to create a nice firing sound for this anti-ship, making it a real pleasure to use![/p][p][/p][p]Question of the day:[/p][p]Which of these options would you prefer?[/p][p]1) The presence of unit classes.[/p][p]2) The absence of unit classes.[/p][p]3) The presence of classes, but with no restrictions on weapon selection. In this case, class selection would only provide very specific bonuses and gadgets.[/p][p][/p]
THE ONLY GOOD BUG IS A DEAD BUG!
[p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p]

MEET the "Wolkenhammer"!

[p]Hello, fellows![/p][p]Today, I'm here to bring you an aircraft that majestically soared across Europe a century ago.[/p][p]Introducing the "Wolkenhammer" heavy bomber![/p][p][/p][p]This model is based on the Gotha of World War I, one of the very first bombers ever built.[/p][p]This aircraft will be able to carry three crew members: one pilot and two gunners. The pilot will also be able to drop the bombs. The two gunners will each be equipped with a 7.62 mm machine gun. I'd also like to provide them with some light bombs that they can drop at will, but I don't know if that's feasible.[/p][p]Regarding the main bomb load, I haven't decided how to organize it yet. I was thinking of small, high-explosive bombs, such as 50 kg and 100 kg. What do you think?[/p][p][/p][p]As I think you can imagine, it certainly won't be a fast and agile plane, but rather an old beast, slow, poorly maneuverable, and with little resistance to enemy fire. However, it will cost a low amount of credits, and players will be able to purchase it early in the battle, provided they've unlocked it in the tech tree beforehand.[/p][p][/p][p]See you at the next MEET![/p][p]Then, later on, I'll conduct some polls to find out your preferences for certain features.[/p][p][/p][p]Today's question is:[/p][p]There will be three factions in the game. Tell me, in descending order of preference, which one you prefer.[/p][p][/p]
THE ONLY GOOD BUG IS A DEAD BUG!
[p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p]
