Significant Performance & Gameplay Improvements

After receiving several reports about poor performance—especially during cutscenes—this update aims to address those issues. Thanks to a new system that preloads shaders (shader warm-up) at the start of the game, performance should now be more stable and stuttering significantly reduced. This might make the game take a little longer to boot or load, but the difference is minimal—and the improvement in performance is definitely noticeable.

This patch also brings improvements to input responsiveness: blocking, shooting, and dodging now feel much more fluid and responsive, making it easier to switch smoothly between actions in combat.

In co-op mode, inventory management has also been improved. Previously, it was difficult for both players to use the inventory at the same time. With this update, each player can now manage their items independently and simultaneously without issue.

I’ve also improved the combat effectiveness of your AI companion, so they’ll now be more helpful during fights.

Other minor tweaks and improvements have been made to audio and gameplay as well.

Thanks again for all your support!
As a tip: if you’re still experiencing performance issues—especially in split-screen co-op—try disabling VSync and capping your framerate at 30 or 60 FPS, depending on your PC’s performance.

Adjustments and Improvements

After quite a bit of investigation, I discovered that the game was using an occlusion method that was very demanding on performance—especially when rendering two screens in co-op mode. With this new update and improvement, I hope there's a noticeable boost in optimization and overall performance, especially during split-screen gameplay. This should make it much easier to enjoy the game even on less powerful devices, or on systems that should have been running the game fine but weren't for some reason. Hopefully, this change finally resolves that issue on those specific setups.

Additionally, I’ve improved some of the character animations in the first level—especially a weird head movement that sometimes happened after dialogue, making it look like the character’s head was bouncing or jerky.

Camera shake while shooting has also been adjusted. It now varies depending on the weapon you're using, as before it was overly intense and could feel uncomfortable at times.

Lastly, the AI for your companion has been improved—she’s now much more helpful and effective during combat.

Thanks so much to everyone for the support and for the great reception the game has received. If you’ve enjoyed the game, please consider leaving a positive review—it really helps with visibility. Thanks again, and none of this would be possible without your support.

Major Aiming Fix & More

After a lot of digging and feedback from many of you saying the aiming still felt unresponsive—or sometimes outright didn’t work—I’ve finally tracked down the root cause. During any attack or damage animation, the character couldn’t aim. So if you pressed the aim button mid-animation, it just stayed held down and you had to release and press it again once the animation finished for the aim to kick in.

With this update, aiming now gets queued as an action. That means if you hold the aim button while performing a melee attack or getting hit, your character will wait until the animation ends and then immediately enter aiming mode. No more missed shots or button gymnastics!

We’ve also fixed a critical exploit with the early bosses that allowed them to be killed in a way that broke the game—leaving you stuck in a reload loop with no way out.

Other bugs have been squashed, and general improvements have been made to ensure a smoother overall experience. Thanks again to everyone who reported these issues. I’m fully committed to making this game the best it can be, so please keep the feedback coming. Apologies for the trouble!

Character Outfit Swap + More Fixes!

You can now change your character’s outfit! This was a feature many players asked for, and it's finally here. Just head over to the wardrobe in the apartment to switch between outfits.

I also didn’t want to miss the chance to let you play as a couple of other characters—like Emily, and Selene (everyone’s favorite from my previous games). With this new option, you can play the entire campaign using different outfits or even a completely different character.

Fixed an issue where Player 2 wasn’t able to interact properly with certain objects.

Fixed a bug that caused some interactions to freeze or make movement feel unresponsive afterward.

General performance improvements.

Combat improvements.

Improved the aim accuracy of your AI companion.

And more bug fixes.

Co-op Experience Improvements

After listening to the community and noticing that the game still suffered from significant frame drops on certain devices—especially during co-op play—this update aims to improve overall performance with a strong focus on the co-op mode. I’ve worked to reduce the most severe frame drops and hope this update brings a smoother experience.

It’s now possible to play co-op using a keyboard and mouse. If you connect only one controller, Player 1 will use the keyboard and mouse, while Player 2 will always be controlled with the gamepad. This change should make it easier to enjoy co-op even if you don’t have two controllers available.

Additionally, this patch fixes issues where one of the two players could become stuck and unable to move.

Other bugs have also been addressed, and several elements have been adjusted to improve the overall gameplay experience.
