Survive & thrive as a TRUCKER, not a truck

[p]Hey there, truckers![/p][p][/p][p]Take a look at the challenges and straight-up DANGERS of the road in Road Truckers: New Beginning. In our game, the difference is that when your truck breaks, it’s not over. You need to get out of your comfy cabin… and find a solution.[/p][p][/p][previewyoutube][/previewyoutube][p][/p][p]The trailer above centers on the wild – soon we’ll show you more civilized areas, which require a wholly different approach. Depending on what you’re looking for, you can focus on city/countryside jobs, or look danger in the eye on hauls through the wilderness. It’s your decision how to grow your business.[/p][p][/p][p]You will have your base, your office, your town, and motels along the way. But really, your truck will be your home. If you’re tired, just pull over at the side of the road, grab a snack from one of your storage compartments, enjoy reading a local newspaper, and go to sleep until the next morning.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Our ambition is to make the ultimate TRUCKER experience. You will be the judge of it. If you want to know more, wishlist Road Truckers: New Beginning to stay up to date with news, and join our Discord server.[/p][p]
Cheers!

We're in BIG Winter Showcase!

[p]Truckers, watch us at 8AM PST on Dec 2, 2025 - our new trailer will drop showing stuff we haven't shown before, including what happens when you're in a pickle away from civilization. [/p][p][/p][p]Check the Best Indie Games Youtube channel[/p][p]
On this occassion - in our recent devlog we showed you the start of work on the city area of the game. It was extremely early in development back then - about two weeks ago? See the difference these two weeks made. [/p]
Then: Without detail but slowly taking shape
[p][/p]
Now: Becoming alive! Now we need to add traffic and pedestrians
[p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]It's a pity you won't see the city our trailer. The challenge in creating trailers is that you need to make them in advance, and so many cool things gets added to the game between the trailer's final cut and its publishing.[/p][p]We've now basically completed the entire Eastern and northern part of the second map - the one that we want you to explore and conquer, called Aventura. The first map will be your hub of operations, with a couple of dozens of jobs, but long routes and challenging tasks are done here, in the vast and varied region that comprises cities, villages, cliffs, rivers, famrlands, swamps, and more.[/p][p]In any case, see you at the BIG Winter Showcase![/p][p]And add Road Truckers: New Beginning to your wishlist:

Steering wheel support, locations, weather... One BIG devlog!

[p]Hey there, Truckers of Vale Rico![/p][p][/p][p]Our project is moving forward at a brisk pace and every week brings tons of new things. Let’s recap where we’re at with development, and let’s show you some new things we’ve been working on.[/p][p][/p][p]Please mind that all screenshots below are work-in-progress.[/p]
The Weather
[p][/p][p]We’ve just possibly finalized the look of rain and night. Possibly - because we like to go back to things, view them with a fresh eye, and then improve them if we deem it necessary. Since tweaking weather doesn’t require too much effort, we’re always looking for a better look. In any case, here’s an example of a stormy weather. It will look different depending on the time of day and the intensity of rain.[/p][p][/p][p]

[/p]
Steering wheel support
[p][/p][p]Road Truckers: New Beginning will work with most wheels out there. We can confirm compatibility on PC and console, including support for force feedback and shifters, with wheels from Thrustmaster and Logitech, and also on PC with Moza and Fanatec. [/p][p][/p][p]As for other brands, every wheel should work, and on PC offer force feedback if it supports this feature. However, since we can’t test every single wheel from every single brand, we’re aware there can potentially be some problematic models, especially from less-known manufacturers.[/p][p][/p]
Locations
[p][/p][p]The game’s map is being filled and right now we’re working on cities - and big ones, the kind we never had before. What you see below is an early image that will give you an idea of the scale or density or cities. Each city has its own history and differs in architecture. Our three main cities are: [/p][p][/p][p]Prospero, an industrial city full of factories, in a rocky, rather barren area, with a neighboring humongous landfill.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Abrigo, a mismanaged old city with a new flashy stadium looming over tenement blocks and decrepit houses - a monument to wrong priorities.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Fortaleza, the one we’re focusing on right now. The capital of the region, a rich city with a financial district full of towering skyscrapers. (This one looks the roughest as we've just started working on it. Still, it's a chance to show you progress on a location later.)[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]On the other hand, we’re also working in the wilderness, and making an effort to make a drive through it a beautiful zen experience… That is, while the weather is good. Speaking of the weather…[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p]
Customization
[p][/p][p]We now have a menu for painting your vehicle! You can not only replace parts, but also recolor them. In the game, you’ll have to unlock paints to get some crazier colors. Then, you can either go for a certain style or have the most crazy truck out there.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p]
Tutorial / player onboarding
[p][/p][p]Since we have to teach the player quite a bit - from engaging with the truck to doing stuff on-foot, dealing with statuses etc. - we decided to onboard the player in two ways. To get a grip on how to handle the truck, there’s the Driving School in the main menu, a short crash course in the basics. In the main game, however, you’ll get additional pointers on how to do all the other things.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]There’s work being done on other fronts as well. Optimization, sound implementation, achievements, controls - it’s all being brought to completion. Stay with us and wishlist the game to see its progress. Restore the town of Esperanza to its former glory from behind the wheel of your truck!

We achieve IMMERSION by making you FEEL like a trucker

[p]Hey truckers![/p][p][/p][p]Let’s talk about being a TRUCKER. Not a truck. We’re putting a lot of effort into making you feel like you’re the person driving, not the vehicle itself. One of the ways we bring you closer to our world is PLAYER STATUSES.[/p][p][/p][p]You can get a negative or a positive status in many ways - negative ones being fun because they add to the challenge and, hopefully, make you play like you would really own a truck. They will also affect your many character stats, such as stamina or charm.[/p][p]
For example, if you hit an obstacle hard, you might get dizzy. It will last some time - you will see the counter - and will result in a chromatic aberration and motion blur, and also a sound cue. By the way, we use these effects how they should be used: to show that something’s wrong, not to just add more post-processes to the image.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Among the effects you might get, there are, to name a few, common cold (with dad sneezes that shake the screen and teary eyes effect), wounds, starvation, or tiredness. You can get them by, for example, sleeping on the ground, which isn’t very healthy, especially in bad weather. It’s much safer to just get a motel room.[/p][p][/p][p]Different statuses are cured in different ways, so you need to be prepared. By visiting stores and stocking up, you can have food or medicine for various occasions.
[/p][p]What other surprises await on the road? Stick with us and you’ll learn soon enough! If you want to stay informed, join our Discord or wishlist Road Truckers: New Beginning.[/p][p][/p][p][dynamiclink][/dynamiclink]Cheers![/p]

Truckers ALWAYS manage, or: what to do when you crash your truck

[p]Hey Truckers!

Accidents happen on the road, especially in the rocky wilderness. What to do when you drive into something and total your truck? There are many possibilities - one of them is finding the nearest phone and calling for help, like below.

[/p][previewyoutube][/previewyoutube][p]

It's the cheapest but, at the same time, most physically demanding option. You will need to find a phone, or a sat phone, first. This will make you hungry. Exposure to conditions like rain can make you end up with a flu. This will all impact your gameplay - so drive carefully, and always carry items to help you in tight situations!

...And if you're in a mood for things like that, call a random number and see who picks up.

Interact with the world in many new ways in Road Truckers: New Beginning! Coming to PC and consoles. Don't miss a think - add the game to your wishlist and follow us on Discord and Steam.
