Participate in the Starforged Legacy Open Beta Until September 12th!
Beta Registration Open
[p]Greetings, Commander! From now until September 12th, you may access the Starforged Legacy playtest from our Steam page! All pilots will be granted immediate access—no need to wait for acceptance![/p][p][/p][p]This is a crucial opportunity for us to gather feedback on the game before its demo release, and we're seeking all the feedback we can get. Invite your friends! Invite your enemies! Don't invite that one guy (you know the one), but you get the idea. If you need help convincing a particularly stubborn party, feel free to send them our revised gameplay trailer;[/p][p][/p][previewyoutube][/previewyoutube][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p]
What's New
[p]Highlights of this week's build include ten new augments, an overhaul of all ships' starting loadouts, a more predictable progression that replaces exponential scaling, a rework of the Tactical and Combat Container missions, and extensive improvements to both graphical fidelity and gameplay balance.[/p][p][/p][carousel][/carousel][p][/p][p]We're particularly eager to hear your thoughts on the new 'tethering' augmentations that provide a deployable means of area-denial: Death Mark TetherGravitational TetherPlasma Tether, and Deep Space Anomaly.[/p][p][/p][p]Interestingly, we don't actually recall designing the last one. Instead, it feels as though a mysterious cosmic force guided our hands into making it. Whatever the case, we've assessed that it poses an acceptable level of threat to pilots (minimum) and enemies (maximum), so it too shall be included in this test.[/p][p][/p][p]You can view this update's changelog in its entirety here;[/p][p][/p][p][dynamiclink][/dynamiclink][/p][p][/p][p][/p]
Giving Feedback
[p][/p]
Playtest Survey
[p]Your feedback is important to us (it's the whole reason we're writing this post)! Starforged Legacy Beta is LIVE!

[p]Commander, we are thrilled to announce that the first Starforged Legacy beta is now live until the end of Sunday, August 24th! Below you'll find everything you need to know about joining the fight, inviting your friends, and providing your crucial feedback.[/p][p][/p]
Getting Started
[p][/p]
Playtest Access
[p]If you've previously requested access to the Starforged Legacy beta test, you've already been granted access to the game and should find it within your Steam library! Simply install and launch the game as you would any other, and venture out into the perilous, unforgiving expanse of the wartorn galaxy we've set out before you (it's more fun than we make it out to sound, promise).[/p][p][/p][p]If you haven't requested access yet, don't worry! We've temporarily transitioned to an open playtest, allowing you to opt in via our Steam page and receive immediate access until the end of Sunday, August 24th.[/p][p][/p]
[dynamiclink][/dynamiclink]
[p][/p]
Friend Invites
[p]Every playtester has been granted three additional invites to share with friends! Yes, your friends can just opt into the beta themselves, but it would feel more personal coming from you.[/p][p][/p][p]To send these invites, navigate to Starforge Legacy in your library and find the panel that says: "You can grant your friends access to this Steam Playtest". Share these invites with your closest allies, or anyone you'd like to see vaporized by an alien cruiser.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p]
Giving Feedback
[p][/p]
Playtest Survey
[p]Once you've logged some flight time, we urge you to fill out our Playtest Survey! To access the survey, use the (Google Forms) link below, or use the 'Playtest Survey' button from the in-game main menu.[/p][p][/p][p]Starforged Legacy Playtest Survey[/p][p][/p][p]We will regularly review submissions even after the playtest period has ended. Take your time![/p][p][/p]
Additional Feedback
[p]For additional feedback, join our community Discord! Here you can speak directly with the development team, share your war stories with fellow pilots, and report any issues you may've encountered. Don't tell us about any deep-space anomalies, though. We no longer address those issues, not after the incident.[/p][p][/p][p]Join the Starforged Legacy Discord[/p][p][/p][p]Your feedback is the most critical resource for us during this beta. We're committed to developing a community-driven experience, and that starts with your honest first impressions! The fate of Starforged Legacy (and perhaps the world) rests in your hands. No pressure.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p]
Communication Systems Online
[p]Receive incoming transmissions: news, announcements, devlogs, and deep-space disturbances, by following Second Shift Games on X (formerly Twitter), Bluesky, YouTube, Reddit, and TikTok, or by visiting our website: SecondShiftGames.com.[/p][p][/p][p]Join our community Discord to chat with the developers and fellow pilots, and give your feedback on the game![/p][p][/p][p]Wishing you clear skies, Commander.[/p][p]// END TRANSMISSION //[/p]

Enlist in the Starforged Legacy Playtest!
Beta Registration Open
[p]Greetings, Commander-to-be![/p][p][/p][p]We're happy to report that you can now register to participate in the Starforged Legacy beta![/p][p][/p][carousel][/carousel][p][/p][p]This will be your first opportunity to play the game, in its entirety, as it currently stands in development. All you need to do is click the bright green "Request Access" button at the top of the Starforged Legacy Steam page! We've anticipated that you'll have exactly two very important questions regarding this exciting prospect, and we have exactly two very important answers:
[/p]
When Will Playtests Occur?
[p]We'll be welcoming our inaugural team of test pilots on August 22nd![/p][p][/p][p]Shortly after this initial wave, we'll switch the beta to 'Open Access'. From that point on, anyone who requests access will be granted it immediately. Additionally, testers won't be required to play during specific windows; instead, they will have access to the game for the entire duration of the playtest. We programmed the aliens to be patient. The pirates, however, we wouldn't keep waiting.[/p][p][/p][p]We aim to update our playtest build every other week. This will enable us to incorporate feedback as we receive it, collect your opinions on features as they evolve, and provide you with something new and exciting to explore every two weeks. It's a win-win![/p][p][/p][p]We're confident that after a few intergalactic joyrides, game-breaking builds, and intimate encounters with asteroids, you'll have ample feedback to share (and likely a bug report or two). That brings us to your second question;
[/p]
Where Can I Give Feedback?
[p]We encourage you to direct all feedback, bug reports, and questions to our community Discord![/p][p][/p][p]Here, you'll find channels to share general feedback and forums to host discussions about the game. If there's anything specific we'd like to collect feedback on, we'll do so through surveys. Finally, our Discord is where you'll find our biweekly update patch notes—after all, prepared pilots tend to survive a bit longer.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p]
Wishlist Starforged Legacy
[p]While you're signing up for the playtest, you may as well click the other bright green button that says "Add to your wishlist". We're incredibly thankful for the reception we've received so far, and hope you'll join us in bated breath for the early access launch of Starforged Legacy later this year![/p][p][/p][p][dynamiclink][/dynamiclink][/p][p][/p][p][/p]
