Die For The Lich News

NEW DEMO UPDATE - 0.7!

[p][/p]
Today, we're excited to release a new update to the demo!
[p]If you've spent time with the previous version, you're in for a treat, we've added a lot of new content and made several improvements and fixes throughout.[/p][p]
[/p][p]If you’re not familiar with ‘Die for the Lich’ it is a roguelike dice deckbuilder. The mechanic of the game is simple, roll dice and try not to roll over the limit and of course kill as many mythical creatures as possible in the process.
[/p]
Let’s DIvE into it.
[p][/p][p][/p]
New Weapons
[p]You might not have unlocked them all yet, and we’re adding even more.[/p][p]This time, we focused on weapons that apply buffs and debuffs to mix things up a bit and see how they impact your playstyle.[/p][p][/p]
Dante’s UPDATE
[p]If you haven’t been the biggest fan of Dante, we’ve got some good news, he’s undergone a major rework.[/p][p]His starting ability has been completely redesigned to create a more distinct experience between the two playable characters.[/p][p]But if you preferred the old Dante, let us know, we’re actively working with the community to make the best possible changes.[/p][p][/p]
Blood Moon
[p]This is another change that has been welcomed with open arms, the old Blood Moon was a bit too straightforward. The new blood moon brings more strategy to every dice and trinket rolled to keep you on your toes.[/p][p][/p]
New Curses - Djinn
[p]The Angel now offers two new curses: Unlucky Curse and Dice Bound Curse.[/p][p]Curses also come with a new look, we removed the generic skull with an eye on his forehead design with one inspired by a Djinn, giving them a more fitting and mysterious vibe.[/p][p][/p]
The Blood Blade
[p]Originally intended as a hidden weapon for those willing to seek it out, the Blood Blade gradually lost its secretive charm and became a bit too easy to obtain.[/p][p]With this update, we’ve reworked its function and price to better reflect its original, more elusive design.[/p][p] [/p]
Halo + Oracle Ability
[p]Time to start killing more monsters on your way to Ankou because there’s a brand new ability in play, and the old Halo has been reworked.[/p][p]The Oracle now offers a glimpse into the future with a new per-turn mechanic.[/p][p]If you’ve been ignoring the Halo because it felt underwhelming, you might want to give it another shot… or keep ignoring it. Either way, it’s definitely more useful now.[/p][p][/p]
Daily Runs UPDATE
[p]If you’ve been battling for the top spot in the Daily Run or even claimed the crown for a day there’s good news for you![/p][p]We’ve improved the leaderboard, complete with a button to view yesterday’s scores, and you can now compete directly with your Steam friends.[/p][p]We hope to see you at the top!
[/p]
GL Compatibility
[p]If the game is not running smoothly or you’ve not had the chance to play it because your computer is too slow, we may be able to fix that. With our new GL Compatibility option when you first run the game.[/p][p]This was our way of fixing it, and it seems like it has worked for the few people that have reported having these problems.[/p][p][/p][p]We’ve also made a number of smaller changes and fixes, we’ll let you discover those for yourself.[/p][p]
A huge thank you to everyone who’s played, reviewed, and supported the game. It truly means a lot to see how much you're enjoying it, and we’ve loved seeing all the ideas and suggestions you’ve shared.[/p][p]Here is some fan art from our community.[/p]

DEMO OUT NOW!

[p]Today we are releasing the official Steam Demo! We have been working on it non-stop and are super excited to present it to you.[/p][p][/p][previewyoutube][/previewyoutube][p][/p][p]Die for the Lich is a roguelike dice deckbuilder. The mechanic of the game is simple, roll dice and try not to roll over the limit and of course kill as many mythical creatures as possible in the process.[/p][p]
[/p][p]This demo is a continuation of our web demo, which we released on January 29th this year on Newgrounds. It received over 90,000 plays and was awarded Best Game of January.[/p][p]We're excited to bring a ton of new content to this updated Steam demo.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p]
New Playable Character
[p]We've always planned to have more than one playable character in Die for the Lich. This new addition changes the way you play the game, but you'll need to unlock them first before diving in.[/p][p]
[/p]
Blood Moon Battles
[p]For those seeking an extra challenge and greater rewards, Blood Moon Battles are for you. You'll be able to choose these encounters on your path to the Lich. It's entirely up to you whether you take on the risk.[/p][p]
[/p]
Buffs & Debuffs
[p]It is a system that makes enemies more dynamic, challenging, and strategically engaging. Most enemies come with their own unique buffs and some of them can cast a debuff on you, so stay alert and plan accordingly.[/p][p]
[/p]
Dice Combining
[p]Don’t have the die you need? No problem, you can craft it yourself. Dice Combining is a special map node you can choose during your run, letting you merge two dice to create something new and more useful for your strategy.[/p][p]
[/p]
Healing Angels
[p]Carrying too many dice but running low on health? Healing Angels are here to help. In exchange for one of your dice, these celestial beings will restore your health and keep you going on your journey.[/p][p]
[/p]
Meta-progression
[p]Each run brings you closer to unlocking a wealth of new content. As you play, you'll gain access to powerful new dice, unique trinkets, deadly weapons, and special abilities that expand your strategic options. Whether you succeed or fail, every attempt pushes your progress forward and opens up exciting new possibilities for future runs.[/p][p]
[/p]
New Music
[p]If you're coming from the web demo, we’ve got some bad news… the old music is gone.[/p][p]But here’s the good news: we now have an all-original soundtrack composed by Hyperstepp, created specifically to accompany your glorious, repeated deaths.[/p][p]
[/p]
DAILY RUNS Are Back!
[p]Compete with players around the world and see if you can claim the crown for the day. Top the leaderboard and earn your moment of glory, plus a shoutout on our Discord server. [/p][p]Just remember: bragging rights only last for 24 hours. Use them wisely.
I'll see you at the top.
[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]We want to thank everyone who played our old web demo and all our beta testers for their incredible support and for playing some pretty broken versions of the game.[/p][p]If you’d like to help out or just keep up with the latest progress, be sure to join our Discord server. We post updates every week and love stealing ideas from our amazing community.[/p][p][/p][p][dynamiclink][/dynamiclink] [/p]
Are You Ready To ‘Die for the Lich’?
[p]What are you waiting for? Jump into the demo and, if you enjoy it, please leave a review. It means the world to us! We’re a very small team, and your support really helps us keep going.[/p][p]

2 Left Thumbs rolls the dice with us!

Hey folks, some good news, we are officially partnering up with 2 Left Thumbs as our publisher, responsible for games like Dead Estate, The Fancy Pants Adventures and many other fun games.
We've been talking for months and finally we are finally ready to jump into this new journey where we don't need to do everything alone.

In other news, we are also joining Steam Fest: Vampires vs Zombies.
We got undeads and vampires so this is just the right event to be part of. I wish we had a demo ready, but unfortunatly we are cooking up a massive new version with more items and enemies.

So if you haven't yet, wishlist the game and keep your eyes peeled for the demo!
